Description - Our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mats were originally designed to be used as horse stall mats however these mats have quickly become a multi-use barn and animal mat and are frequently used for cows, pigs, and dogs as well. These rubber horse mats have a diamond top pattern design for added traction and will not harbor or grow bacteria. The equine mats are also easy to install, help reduce bedding costs in barns as well as help to keep animals safe and protected from cold hard subfloors. The diamond top interlocking mats also come with an industry-leading 12-year warranty.
Note : These interlocking mats are not designed to be used as gym mats and are not generally recommended for that purpose.
Material – Diamond top interlocking mats are constructed of recycled crumb rubber that is revulcanized. Revulcanization means that the rubber mats are essentially heated back together to form one solid non-porous mat rather than glued back together. This is the process that forms the strongest and most durable recycled rubber mats available.
Sizes – 4' x 6'
Thickness – 3/4"
Weight – The 3/4” diamond top mats weight 4.2 Lbs. per square foot.
Recommended Uses – The 3/4” thick diamond top interlocking mats have been used as horse stall mats, general barn mats, cow mats, pig mats, and horse trailer flooring. In addition, these mats have been used as dog kennel flooring, dog training flooring and in any other place where pet, barn, or animal matting would be useful.

Diamond pattern mats are easy to clean and maintain. Maintenance of these rubber mats typically includes:
  • Vacuuming any loose crumbs, dust, dirt or debris from the mat surface when necessary.
  • Occasional damp mopping of the animal matting with a mild soap and water solution. A few recommended soaps are Dawn dish detergent or Tide laundry detergent.
Note: Do not use any solvent or oil style cleaners such as lysol, Pinesol, WD40, Murphy’s Oil Soap, paint thinner, etc. since these types of cleaners will break down the floor tiles over time.
Installation of stall mats is very simple and easy and commonly done by the consumer. Installation for your floor is as follows:
  • Our mats can be placed over concrete, asphalt, wood or any level well-compacted surface. You can also install them over decomposed granite and limestone fines. For limestone fines, make sure the fines do not exceed 1/8” in size.
  • Once your subsurface is prepared, use the stall diagram provided.
  • Each mat is marked on the bottom with numbers from the diagram. Start in one corner of the stall and fit the pieces together like a puzzle.
  • Once the tiles are interlocked, you can walk over them to fit more tiles in place.
  • Since rubber expands and contracts in extreme temperatures, we recommend a 1/4” to 1/2” gap between the edge of the mat and the wall.
  • Once you have completed your mat, feel free to add a small amount of bedding and your horse can enter its new home.

How do you cut these mats?
Joe Massarelli
Our rubber mats can be cut with a sharp utility knife. For straight cuts, a T-square is recommended.
What type of surface preparation is there on a concrete slab floor that is needed.
All you would need to do to the concrete slab is make sure it is clean of any large dirt and debris.
Would this mat be suitable for use outdoors? I'm building a dog kennel\run under my deck and would like a material that is easy to wash\clean and durable. Would a dog be able dig\chew this easily?
Our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mats are perfect for outdoor use. These mats are non-porous meaning they will not harbor any mold or mildew and are water resistant. These mats are very thick and super durable, so it will be very tough for a dog to dig or chew this very easily.
Would these work being installed over a level gravel bed, I'm considering installing under my carport.
You can install our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mats over a level gravel bed. These mats can be installed over any level surface with ease.
How much will these mats expand in the heat and contract in the cold?
You can expect our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits to expand and contract 3/4" to and 1" in extreme hot or cold weather.
Can I put these mats over dirt?
You can install our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits over dirt as long as it is virtually flat. We recommend installing our horse mats over solid, flat surfaces like concrete, asphalt, wood, or any other hard flat surface.
Would you be able to use these for Olympic Lifting as the sizing is a perfect fit for my room?
You can use our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits for Olympic Lifting. These mats are made from the same material as all of our other vulcanized mats can withstand the dropping of heavy weights and will help to protect the subfloor below. These mats are also very shock absorbent which is also great on your joints for plyometrics.
Is this suitable for a horse trailer?
You can install our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits in a horse trailer. These tiles are non-porous making them very easy to clean and sanitize. These tiles interlock very tightly, and when installed properly, urine and water have a very tough time getting to the subfloor below. These rubber tiles are mold and mildew resistant and are very slip resistant and are more slip resistant when wet.
Are these one-piece mats?
Our Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits are not one-piece mats. These mats come in kits that contain multiple tiles.
What are the dimensions of each mat?
Carol Burr
Each mat Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits size can be found on the product page in the description section.
Do these mats have a strong chemical smell?
Shannon Starvish
Our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits do have a rubber smell to them. They were designed for outdoor use, so their smell is a little more than our standard residential rubber flooring. To help dissipate this rubber smell, we recommend mopping our rubber flooring with a mild soap and water solution with a synthetic mop head. You will then want to let the flooring air dry in a well-ventilated space. You may have to repeat this a few times to really dissipate the smell.
What is the size of the seperate interlocking pieces?
Robin Rosier
The size of each tile in our Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits depends on the kit that you are purchasing. To get the actual dimensions of each tile and the kit itself, please feel free to reach out to one of our Flooring Heroes via chat, phone, or email.
Why isn't this mat recommended for commercial gym use?
The reason we don't recommend our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits for gym use is due to the smell. These mats do have a smell mitigator in them which helps to decrease the very potent rubber smell that can come from products made from recycled rubber. Due to this one fact and not the actual material is why we don't recommend these mats in any indoor environment.
The 10'x10' mats come in how many pieces?
There are 5 tiles in our 10' x 10' 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kit.
Are the pieces of each tile interlocking?
The kit comes with corner, border, and center tiles to create a solid looking mat. All of these tiles interlock with each other.
I would like to order the 12' x 12' mats. How are they shipped?
David Shewmaker
Our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits are shipped via an LTL truck, which is just a small semi-truck. When your order is ready to deliver, the shipper will contact you to set up your delivery window. Our standard delivery is a curbside delivery with a lift gate, which is just like a small elevator on the back of the semi-truck. You would be responsible for moving the flooring to the area in which the flooring would be installed. We do offer other delivery services. To get info and pricing on these, please feel free to reach out to one of our Flooring Heroes via chat, phone, or email.
I am considering this for horse stall flooring. Is it sturdy enough to stand up to horse hooves, possibly some pawing? Will it stay in place? The perimeter of the stall has an 18" wide concrete floor, but the center of the stall floor is clay. The mats could possibly be secured on the edges to the concrete, but would not be securable in the center, and I am worried about shifting or curling edges. Has anyone used them in this application that you know of?
Our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits were designed to be used in horse stalls and stables. So they are able to take the abuse from a horse quite well. You can secure them if you like, but these tiles are pretty heavy and would stay interlocked on their own due to the overall weight of the kit. These horse stall kits are one of our most popular horse stall kits for this very use and have been installed all over the US and Canada with great success.
Is there a warranty on these mats? Also, do the mats come apart if horses are walking on them daily?
Our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits come with a 12-year warranty. These rubber mats interlock very tightly and will not come apart if installed properly when a horse walks across the flooring. Since these rubber mats were designed for use in horse stalls, they are very durable and are super easy to clean and maintain. If for any reason, a tile were to get damaged, fixing the damaged tile is a breeze. You just have to remove it and replace it with another tile.
We are looking to install these in our gyms. Do you have the flame spread rating for the mats?
Our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits have a flame spread rating of Class III. We don't typically recommend using these in a gym as they do have a very strong smell. We do offer a number of stall mats that would be perfect for gym settings. Some great alternatives to these mat kits are our 3/4" Premium Extreme Mats, 3/4" Extreme Mats, and our 3/4" Shock Tiles.
Can you drive a vehicle over your 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits?
A car can drive over our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits. Since these mats are made from rubber, you will have to make sure that any oils that drip from your car are cleaned up right away. Oil over time can break down the mats. If your vehicle does leak oil, we recommend placing one of our Nitro Rolls or an AutoFloorGuard mat under the car to prevent oil from reaching the tiles.
Am I able to order a custom-sized Diamond 3/4" mat kit from you?
You can order a custom-sized 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kit. If you would like a custom sized kit, please feel free to reach out to one of our Flooring Heroes via chat, email, or phone, and they will be more than happy to assist.
If I order the 12x12 kit, does it come in one large mat or several pieces for me to assemble?
Our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits come as several pieces. Each kit comes with an install diagram which will help you install your horse stall kit properly.
Looking to use over a 2x decking on an equestrian bridge. Should it be fastened or glued to the wood surface?
Brian A Robertson
Our 3/4" Diamond Top Horse Mat Kits are large interlocking tiles that don't have to be fastened or glued, but you can glue and fasten the tiles if you like. If you do glue the tiles, we recommend using a polyurethane adhesive. The one we recommend using is our EZ Polyurethane adhesive.
My 4 horse stalls measure 13 feet 4 inches x 13 feet 4 inches. (25,600 square inches per stall) Can I adjust the 12'x14' kit to fit?
Linda Richardson
Our rubber mats can be cut with a sharp utility knife. For straight cuts, a T-square is recommended.

Have had a horse on the interlocking stall mats for a month now and no uneven edges or issues with mats separating/moving. Right amount of traction so horse does not slip but does not catch on muck fork. Stall is easier to muck and much cleaner than with past experience with non-interlocking mats. Did have to cut the mats down a bit to fit in place (took into account that they expand with the heat and contract with the cold). Husband used a circular saw and soap, messy but did the trick. Very satisfied with price and product!

I wanted to re-do a few of my stalls so I saw this product and thought I would give it a try. I liked that it was the perfect size for my 10x10 stalls. That made it nice and easy to install. It keeps the horses so much cleaner. I am very happy with my purchase.

I am really happy with this product. Local feed and tractor supply mats don’t interlock, but these mats came cut and were easy to lay out, install and lock together.
