Our Commitment to Accessibility

FlooringInc is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology. If you run into a barrier anywhere on this site, we want to hear about it, and we want to help you finish what you came to do. Our contact information is below.

Our standard

We build and test FlooringInc.com against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

Accessibility is ongoing work rather than a finished state. Our site changes constantly as we add products, update content, and release new features, so some pages or features may not yet fully meet this standard. We review the site as it changes, and we fix issues as we find them or as you report them to us.

How we build and test

We take the following measures to keep FlooringInc.com accessible:

• We build with semantic HTML and use ARIA only where native elements can’t do the job, rather than layering an accessibility plugin or overlay over the site.
• We make the full shopping path — browsing, product pages, cart, and checkout — operable by keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators.
• We test with screen readers, including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.
• We check color contrast against WCAG AA thresholds.
• We support browser zoom and operating system text-size settings up to 200% without loss of content or function.
• We include accessibility checks in our development and release process, so new pages and features are reviewed before they go live.
• We provide text alternatives for images that convey information.

We evaluate FlooringInc.com ourselves, using a combination of automated testing tools and manual review, including keyboard-only and screen reader testing of our main shopping paths. We have not yet commissioned an independent third-party audit.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, we’re aware of the following limitations:

• Downloadable documents. Some installation guides, spec sheets, and warranty documents are PDFs that may not be fully tagged for screen readers. If you need the information in one of these documents in another format, contact us and we will provide it.
• Older video content. Some older product and installation videos may not have captions or transcripts. Newer video is captioned.

Third-party content

Some features on our site are provided by outside companies, including financing, customer reviews, live chat, and email signup. We don’t control the code behind these tools, and their accessibility is ultimately up to those vendors. We raise accessibility requirements with our vendors and factor accessibility into which tools we choose. If a third-party feature is blocking you, tell us — we’ll work with the vendor, and in the meantime we can help you another way.
