Use Tax Notification and Sales Tax Information
IncStores LLC does not collect sales tax in every state. All purchases made FlooringInc.com, are subject to sales or use tax and are not exempt from sales or use tax in a state merely because it is made over the internet or by other remote means. Many states where product and delivery purchases are taxable require purchasers to 1) file the appropriate sales and use tax return or complete the appropriate section(s) on your annual income tax return, reporting all purchases that are taxable in the state and for which no tax was collected by the retailer and b) pay tax on those purchases. Additional information on sales and use tax reporting and payment requirements can be found on the Department of Revenue website for your state.
Why don't some of our competitors charge sales tax?
The Supreme Court ruled on June 21, 2018, that internet-based transactions are no longer exempt from paying sales tax. If the company does not have the requirement to collect tax at the time of the sale, they are required by law to report the sale to the customer’s state and also provide annual purchase summaries to customers who did not pay sales tax at the time of sale. The customer would then be required to pay use tax when they file their annual tax return. Customers are either charged sales tax at the time of sale or must report the non-taxed purchase on their annual personal tax return. Online merchants not in compliance with the new legislation are redirecting the liability of paying sales tax from their business to the consumer directly. IncStores removes this liability of the customer by collecting at the time of sale. For more information on Use Tax filing requirements for your state, please reference the information provided below or your state's Department of Revenue website. By providing your email address to IncStores at the time of order placement, you are in agreement to receive any Use Tax notifications required of IncStores, by the various state tax compliance departments.
How Tax is Calculated
The amount of tax charged on your order depends on many factors, including the following:
- The type of item purchased
- The time and location of fulfillment
- The shipment or delivery address of your order
The tax rate applied to your order will be the combined state and local rates of the address where your order is delivered to or fulfilled from. For example, if you live in a state that does not impose a sales tax, you may still see tax calculated on your order if the items purchased are shipped from another state. The total selling price may include discounts.
Note: No tax is charged when purchasing e-gift cards; however, purchases paid for with e-gift cards may be subject to tax.

Retail Delivery Fee
Retail Delivery Fees are imposed on a state-by-state basis for shipments delivered within that state.
IncStores LLC, doing business as Flooring Inc., collects and remits these fees on orders delivered to states that have enacted Retail Delivery Fee legislation. The fee applies to the entire order, regardless of the number of items or shipments required.
Some states have established a total sales price threshold that must be met for the delivery fee to apply.
The Retail Delivery Fee will not apply to qualifying orders for customers with a valid tax exemption certificate in the state. The table below lists the states that have passed retail delivery fee legislation. For more information on how each state handles exempt items and the respective delivery fee, please refer to the state Departments of Revenue websites.
State | Enactment Date | Fee Amount | Order Qualification |
Colorado | July 1, 2022 | $0.29 | Per Order |
Minnesota | July 1, 2024 | $0.50 | $100 of Qualifying Items |
