Engineered planks are very easy to keep clean and maintain. Maintenance of the floor typically includes:
  • Daily or weekly dust mopping or sweeping may be needed to remove dirt, dust, and debris.
  • NEVER wet or damp mop your floor.
  • Do not use vacuums with rotating beater bars on hard surfaces.
  • Spills should be wiped up immediately.
  • Use walk-off mats at entrance doors and in front of kitchen sink. Avoid rubber backed or other non-ventilated mats or rugs. In the kitchen, use a rug in front of the working areas, such as the stove and sink, to prevent local premature wear.

Are any of your engineered woods waterproof?
Generally, waterproof means that you could submerge one of the planks in water and take it out days later with no change in the plank. That would mean no swelling and no warping. Currently there isn't an engineered wood on the market that can make that claim. However, when a water-resistant engineered wood floor is installed properly it can withstand quite a bit of moisture. You obviously wouldn't want to leave pools of standing water on your floor, but the surface technology of many water resistant hardwoods can make them very stable in wet conditions.

  New Home Floor!
Installed in Living room, Dining room, Hallway
Catherine from Barnstable MA wrote...
We had this floor installed in our living room dining room and hallway and it has completely changed the feel of our home. I went with a lighter wood and it is perfect. It feels better to walk on than the laminate from the previous owner and now feels more like our own home.
