It’s winter and you know what that means. Frigid temperatures, snow on the ground, and a brown lawn. Man what a nightmare! Well, you can’t really change the weather, the government has been trying for years and look where that got us! But at least you can control the way your lawn looks. With landscape turf, your yard will look great even though the weather outside is frightful!
Our landscape artificial grass is great for any part of the country and comes in several looks. From the Bermuda grass that is common to the Western states to Kentucky Blue used throughout the East, we are certain to have a turf for you. So how do you pick the proper turf for your personal Oasis? Great question. Here are some things to consider when picking your turf.
One of the most important factors to consider when picking your fake grass is the face weight. What is face weight you ask? Well, in layman terms, it is the amount of material used per square yard in your turf. So, the higher the face weight, the more material is used, thus a more durable product. It’s similar to nail polish. The more you have, the longer it will last.
The next factor to look at is the pile height or thickness of the grass. The thickness doesn’t necessarily mean the product is more durable, but the thicker the grass, typically the more comfortable it will be. Similar to real grass, the thicker the turf the plusher it will feel, which is ideal for anyone who likes to roll around in the grass. I know we do!
The last factor to consider when choosing your landscape turf is if it is rated for outdoor use. Not all turf products are ideal for outdoor use. The reason artificial turf might not be approved for outdoor use is typically due to the fiber fading in sunlight. This is typically seen with nylon fiber products and thus we recommend only installing them indoors. All other fiber types can be installed outdoors.
