Description: Our 3/8" Tight-Lock Rubber Tiles are the definitive choice for everyone from the home user to the large-scale commercial user who desires easily installed rubber flooring. Each tile comes with removable edge pieces meaning the tile can be used as a border, corner, or center without custom cutting the tiles. These tiles are water jet cut to ensure the tightest fitting rubber tiles possible, so much so that the flooring appears seamless. Plus, they are safe indoors and out and can be loose-laid, so no adhesive is required.
Material: Recycled rubber buffings and colored EPDM virgin rubber flecks.
Recommended Uses: These rubber tiles can be used in a wide variety of settings. Common places of installation include playrooms, basements, rec rooms, dens, utility rooms, locker rooms, doggie daycare centers, kitchens, patios, decks, and in any other place where resilient flooring is needed. These rubber rolls are a great slip-resistant flooring surface that can be installed over radiant heated flooring systems.

Installation
Installation of these interlocking tiles is very simple and usually done by the consumer. Typical installation of these tiles is as follows:
- First, clean your subfloor so it is free of all dirt, grease, or debris.
- Start in one corner of the room with a corner tile and add border tiles outward along the adjacent walls. Leave the other two edges of the room open and fill in the rest, adding center, corner, and border tiles where you see fit.
- After the open floor is covered, go back and cut in tiles along the opposite walls in the room. We recommend leaving a gap along the walls roughly the thickness of the tiles and using it to account for the floor's expansion and contraction in varied temperature ranges.
Note: When piecing interlocking tiles together, adhesives aren’t usually needed since the product's weight is usually enough to keep the floor tiles from moving. However, do experience movement and would like to ensure that the tiles do not slide at all. You can use some double-sided tape or mat tape around the installation's perimeter to prevent movement.
Care & Maintenance
3/8" Tight-Lock Tiles are extremely easy to maintain and keep clean. Maintenance of these interlocking rubber tiles typically includes:
- Vacuuming any loose crumbs, dust, or debris from the surface when necessary.
- Occasional damp mopping of the flooring with a mild soap and water solution. A few recommended soaps are Dawn dish detergent and Tide laundry detergent.
Note: Do not use solvent or oil-style cleaners such as Pinesol, Lysol, Murphy’s Oil Soap, WD40, paint thinner, etc., as these will break down the flooring over time.

How big is each 3/8" Tight-Lock tile?
Each tile is 34.5" x 34.5" and 3/8" thick, and the tiles overlap by 1" where they lock together. After that overlap, one tile covers about 8.27 square feet. Tiles are sold individually with no minimum, and each one weighs about 16 pounds.

They let one tile work as a corner, a border or a center tile. You never cut the interlocking tabs. Start in one corner with a corner tile. Run border tiles along the two adjacent walls, then fill the middle with center tiles. You will still cut tiles to fit along the last two walls. The tiles are water-jet cut, so the joints close tightly with very little visible gap.

No adhesive is required; the tiles are loose-laid and their weight normally keeps the floor from shifting. Leave a gap along the walls roughly equal to the tile thickness so the rubber has room to expand and contract with temperature changes. If you do see movement, double-sided tape or mat tape around the perimeter of the installation will hold the tiles in place.

The surface is slip-resistant, and the tiles can be installed over radiant heated floors.

I purchased this flooring 3 years ago and loved it. Moving to a new house and purchased again, but the new version is noticeably lower quality. The old version was smooth and well-finished. The new version is more open-grained and when you rub your hand over it, small parts of rubber come off. Would not recommend and looking to return.

I bought these a few years ago and needed to add on to the existing installation. The tiles have changed and are not compatible with older versions that had separate center, border and corner pieces. They are about 3/4” smaller. For new installations the quality seems similar and I’ve been happy with what I have.

The product arrived as scheduled. Was easy to install. We did it in a couple of hours. Our home gym looks like a commercial gym. Word of caution, follow installation instructions and definately leave a gap between perimeter tiles and wall to all for tiles to adjust during installation since no walls are plumb. This will give you some play. Although I was concerned about the odor other reviews mentioned, it was not as bad as I anticipated. We have a completely open floor plan spanning three floors. There is an odor, but it as not overwhelming. The floor has been in about two weeks and every day it is less and less. Once we are able to open windows and continue to air out the area, I am confident it will completely disappear. Totally worth the money. Would not hesitate to use the product again.
