How big is each 3/8" Tight-Lock tile?
Each tile is 34.5" x 34.5" and 3/8" thick, and the tiles overlap by 1" where they lock together. After that overlap, one tile covers about 8.27 square feet. Tiles are sold individually with no minimum, and each one weighs about 16 pounds.
Was this helpful? What are the removable borders for?
They let one tile work as a corner, a border or a center tile. You never cut the interlocking tabs. Start in one corner with a corner tile. Run border tiles along the two adjacent walls, then fill the middle with center tiles. You will still cut tiles to fit along the last two walls. The tiles are water-jet cut, so the joints close tightly with very little visible gap.
Was this helpful?Do 3/8" Tight-Lock tiles need adhesive?
No adhesive is required; the tiles are loose-laid and their weight normally keeps the floor from shifting. Leave a gap along the walls roughly equal to the tile thickness so the rubber has room to expand and contract with temperature changes. If you do see movement, double-sided tape or mat tape around the perimeter of the installation will hold the tiles in place.
Was this helpful?Where can 3/8" Tight-Lock tiles be installed?
Indoors and outdoors, on any clean, flat, dry surface. Home and commercial gyms are the most common use. They also go in playrooms, basements, rec rooms, utility rooms, locker rooms, dog daycares, kitchens, patios and decks. The surface is slip-resistant, and the tiles can be installed over radiant heated floors.
Was this helpful? What cleaner should I use on 3/8" Tight-Lock rubber tiles?
Vacuum loose crumbs, dust, and debris as needed and damp mop occasionally with a mild soap and water solution; Dawn dish detergent and Tide laundry detergent are the recommended soaps. Do not use solvent or oil-based cleaners such as Pine-Sol, Lysol, Murphy's Oil Soap, WD-40, or paint thinner, since these break down rubber over time.

Water will not damage our 3/8" Tight-Lock Tiles™ w/ Removable Borders. They will provide excellent traction whether wet or dry. You just want to make sure NOT to use any cleaner with solvents or oils such as Pinesol, Lysol, etc
Was this helpful? Can you glue tight lock tile to concrete and if so what kind of glue do recommend.
Our 3/8" Tight-Lock Tiles™ are a free-floating floor so glue is optional. If you wanted to glue we recommend either the 7700 EZ Clean MS Polymer Adhesive or our Polyurethane Adhesive.
Was this helpful? Can these be used in a garage?
Our 3/8" Tight-Lock Tiles can be installed in a garage and a car would not destroy the tiles. There are two things that may happen with these tiles when installed in a garage. If your car is leaking oil, there is potential for the oil to break down the tiles over time. If that is the case, we would recommend placing one of our Nitro rolls where you park your vehicle. The second issue that might occur, is when you are driving into your garage, if you turn hard, you may cause the tiles to separate. The only way to prevent this is to glue the tiles.
