Awesome for our basement, but a couple of things..
Installed in basement

I bought these tiles for my entire basement! It's about 750 square feet. I love they way they look and feel and we put them right over the concrete. I have had three floods in the last 7 years and I didn't want to do carpet again. We have very uneven concrete and it wasn't a problem for the tiles which is a huge money saver not to have to level the floor. We get TONS of complements and my kids (boys) and their friends love it! But, I do have a couple of complaints. After just a couple of days of playing ping pong, the spot where the kids stand started to peel at the edges! The company was happy to replace the tiles at no cost, but I then decided to put area rugs in those spots to prevent it happening again in the future. I do have a couple of scuff marks, but that's not a huge deal for me. A couple of punctures already too. People should know going in that this product is not for a high traffic area (which I did know somewhat going in), but I didn't think it would peel so quickly. I bought extra because I know kids wreck stuff! Overall, great product and good customer service.

I am happy with my purchase. Install was quick and easy. I ordered samples to get an idea which color that I liked best. A few tiles did show up with some damage, but customer service was quick to replace them and easy to deal with. I would recommend this product and company.

We purchased 43 of the dark gray soft wood tiles to put down in our basement exercise room. We had had carpet in there for years but after flooding 2x this past spring/summer we threw out the carpet and shopped around for a flood friendly floor replacement. Ideally we would've preferred rubber tiles to go under the heavy treadmill and weight lifting equipment, but we have two people very sensitive to smells in our household and even the little rubber tile samples smelled overwhelming. So we went with the soft foam tiles. The samples did not smell at all, it costs half as much as the rubber option. Installation took about 2.5 hours total. Very easy to cut. It looks and feels great. Adds warmth to the room. It definitely emits a mild to moderate odor. We have a pretty heavy duty air filter that includes a charcoal filter that absorbs odor so we put that in the room and it has helped significantly. I imagine it'll be at least a few months before the odor dissipates enough on its own.

  New basement floors
Tiffany F. from Chesapeake, VA wrote...
We just bought our first home and the basement level had concrete floors. The main room down there was going to be a playroom, but I was concerned about my kids' safety (I have a four year old, 3 year old and 11 month old). Once I found this flooring, I was sold! We bought flooring to cover the entire playroom, under the stairs and some extra just in case. The flooring came out beautifully! My husband put it together easily with a friend. They bought said it was so easy and fun to do. It looks incredible and matches my stairs perfectly. We get so many compliments on the floors. Everyone wants them! They are extremely durable and hold up well. They are super easy to wipe down and clean. My kids have fallen on these floors and didn't get hurt at all. The floors are right on top of the concrete, but provide plenty of cushion just on their own. I literally could not be happier! Thank you for making such an incredible product!

  Wood pattern tiles
Self-installed in kitchen
Dave from Longmont, CO wrote...
Tiles look great with wood stained cabinets. Placed tiles over tile floor to create a soft landing for elderly parents who have previously fallen and injured themselves in the area. Installation was easy with a new blade in my utility knife. Only issue has been with sitting on chairs at the kitchen table and sliding the chairs across the floor to position them for eating. The chairs and weight of the sitters press into the foam and create indentations and the soft surface creates drag on the chairs. To avoid further damage and potential tearing, I custom-cut a piece of hardboard and positioned it over the area where the table and chairs are used - no more indentations and the chairs move easily. Great solution and the dark brown hardboard complemented the wood grained flooring.

  Wash them first
Self-installed in Basement
Brendan from Chester Springs PA wrote...
They look pretty decent for my basement and were easy to cut around corners. Be sure to wash them thoroughly before putting them down. They have some kind of film on them that turns socks and whatever surface the tiles sat on into an ice rink. I used a hose, blue dawn, and a windshield washer scrubber. Kind of annoying to have to do that. I did about 300 sq ft. I found that each pack of 4 came in plastic wrap and they mated up with the pattern. However it wasn’t easy to find matches with other sets of 4 to make a larger area look seamless. I gave up eventually after getting maybe 6 sets along the grain to line up. I didn’t get any to line up with the pattern side by side. They should be labeled on the bottom to make this easier. Also I used blue painter tape to mark where I was going to cut. Worked well but a few pieces I didn’t immediately remove, wound up messing up the print on the top of the tile when I took it off a few hours later. Watch for that. These seem pretty fragile so I plan to cover mostly with area rugs. Overall I don’t think I would recommend these, too much of a pain to wash and I don’t think they are going to last long. I am much happier with the eco-soft 5/8” carpet tiles I got from rubber flooring inc for the other parts of my basement.

The foam flooring turned out to be better AND easier to install than I expected. My 11 year old son and I put the floor down in less than 30 minutes, including cutting and fitting around tricky edges. This is the perfect product for partitioned spaces, especially for typically cold, damp basements.

  Pock-marked within one day
Installed in Exercise Room
Gardner from Charlotte, NC wrote...
We bought these for our exercise room. We didn't even lay them out fully, just set a path down to get a sense of what they would look like. Our coonhound walked across them and his nails - which ARE trimmed - immediately started putting pock marks all over them. The tops immediately gave way to tears from the pressure of his feet. Amazing. Not durable in the slightest. I also leaned a 2x4 against the wall with the end on the mat - again, setting it down gently! - and when I picked up the 2x4 I discovered the edge had torn the top of the mat just from the weight of the 2x4 resting there. I will still lay these out because I paid for them and can only imagine trying to get a return wouldn't be easy, but I can guarantee I'll want to replace these in less than 2 months. That's sad, because finding one with a print like this again won't happen.

We've just installed it in our basement. It turned a concrete floor into my favorite place to walk. These rubber tiles are not only comfortable but easy to install and they look really great. How they stand up to the test of time we'll see but I know it's not a big deal to order a box of extra's to replace what may give out in time.

  Safe cover over hard tile!
Self-installed in Living Room
Melanee from 92069 wrote...
We've used this product to cover over the cold hard tile we have in our living room. It works well to keep our little children from falling and hitting their heads/getting hurt if it were tile. Also is nice to have the softer flooring rather than harder. It is in a 3x4 tile block dimension and stays put during all activity with kids, dogs, foot traffic etc. Highly recommend.
