We have had some customers use our Silica Sand in outdoor fire pits and then put glass beads or lava rock on the top of the sand.

Yes, Silica Sand can be used for putting green and fringe, however, the product Putting Green Infill is specifically made for putting greens turfs and is a good choice as well. You may use the calculator on the product page to calculate the number of bags of infill you would need. Each bag of Silica Sand covers approx. 33 sq ft.
What grit is the silica sand? I am looking for 12 grit.

This sand is a 16/30 grit.
Can this be used on asphalt to create a base for turf?

You may install the turf directly on the asphalt. Silica Sand is an infill.
