Guests notice the floor in the lobby, the corridor and the room.
Map the property by area
A hotel has many kinds of space under one roof. The lobby makes the first impression. Guest rooms and bathrooms must handle water. Corridors carry constant foot traffic, and a fitness room carries equipment. Plan each area on its own.
| Area | Option our pages name | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Lobby | Commercial vinyl sheet | You find vinyl sheets in hotel lobbies. Large sheets give a seamless look. |
| Guest rooms and bathrooms | SPC rigid core vinyl | Our guide lists hotels and bathrooms as a good fit. It is 100% waterproof. |
| Corridors and public rooms | Commercial broadloom carpet | Some patterns suit hotels, for example Shaw Cannonboro. |
| Fitness room | 8mm rubber rolls | Dense enough for cardio equipment and quiet for guests in nearby rooms. |
Hard floors for lobbies and guest baths
SPC vinyl has four layers: a backing, an SPC core, a printed vinyl layer and a wear layer. Its attached underlayment absorbs sound, which helps in a quiet guest room. It has a rigid feel and can cost more than some other options. Vinyl sheet has a strong wear layer and a clear top layer that resists spills and stains.
Carpet for corridors and public rooms
Joy Carpets Mariner's Tale is a commercial grade broadloom carpet that is popular with boutique hotels and restaurants. It resists staining, soiling, mold and mildew, and its product page lists a Class I fire rating. Shaw Cannonboro has a floral trellis pattern that suits hotels. Check the fire rating and the specifications on each product page before you order.

Hotel fitness rooms
For a hotel fitness room of 200 to 600 sq ft, our Quick Ship guide suggests 4'x25' rolls of 8mm Pre-Cut Strong. The rolls are dense enough for cardio equipment and quiet enough for guests in nearby rooms. They are also fast enough to install during a single off-shift. Pre-Cut rolls ship from the regional warehouse closest to your ZIP code.
