Installation
When installing rolled rubber flooring, choosing the right installation method for your project is important. The most common methods of adhering rubber rolls to the subfloor are:
A: Double-Sided Tape Installation:
- Ensure that the subfloor is clean, dry, and debris-free.
- Loosely lay the rubber rolls in the room to achieve your desired layout, and allow the rolls to relax for 24-48 hours to ensure proper installation.
- Cut the rubber rolls to fit the room using a straight edge and a utility knife with a fresh blade. Leave a gap around the perimeter roughly the thickness of the rolls used to account for expansion and contraction.
- Roll up the rubber rolls at one end of the room. Apply double-sided tape to the subfloor along the perimeter of each roll.
- Place the rubber rolls back into position on top of the double-sided tape.
Note: Rolls may be directional, so make sure the color matches on each roll. If the roll colors do not match, flip them or turn them 180 degrees to ensure the color matches.
B: Glue Installation:
- Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, and free of debris or moisture. Loosely lay the rubber rolls in the room to achieve your desired layout.
- Allow the rolls to relax for 24-48 hours to ensure proper installation.
- Cut the rubber rolls to fit the room using a straight edge and a utility knife with a fresh blade. Leave a gap around the perimeter roughly the thickness of the rolls used to account for expansion and contraction.
- Roll up the rubber rolls at one end of the room. Spread a light layer of polyurethane adhesive 10 feet long (maximum) and unroll the flooring into the adhesive 10 feet at a time.
- Repeat step 4 for every 10 feet of roll length until the entire roll has been unrolled into its desired position. After all of the rolls have been glued down, using a 100-pound roller on the floor is recommended to guarantee good adherence to the subfloor. Walking on the flooring in small, choppy steps may also work if a roller is unavailable.

- Sweep or vacuum loose debris regularly to prevent buildup and minimize the risk of slips and falls.
- Simply damp mop the rubber rolls with a mild soap and water solution for a deeper clean. We recommend using Dawn dish detergent or Tide laundry detergent.
Note: Do not use any solvent or oil-based cleaners like Pinesol, Lysol, Murphy's Oil Soap, WD40, paint thinner, or similar products. These cleaners can break down the flooring over time and cause damage.

Our 1/4" Pre Cut Tough Rubber Rolls can be sealed with our Floor Finish And Sealer. This will make the flooring water resistant, but not water proof.
Was this helpful?Can these be installed in areas prone to flooding such as in wet basements? Will they develop mold if soaked for a day or more?
Our 1/4" Pre Cut Tough Rubber Rolls are great as flooring in basements. Since these rolls are made from rubber, they are naturally mold and mildew resistant. If your basement were to flood, cleaning your rubber flooring is easy. First, we would recommend not gluing your flooring down as you will need to clean under the rubber flooring after the water has receded. You would then remove the rolls, clean them, and let them air dry. Once dry and the basement has been cleaned, you can then place your flooring back into your basement. No matter how long the water is sitting over the flooring, your rubber flooring will not be destroyed.

Was this helpful?How easily is this cleaned? Can you just wipe down with a wet rag? How long to dry? I need something easily cleanable that won't attract dirt/dust.
Our 1/4" Pre Cut Tough Rubber Rolls are very easy to clean. For any large dirt and debris, you can use a broom or a brushless vacuum to remove it. For any stuck-on dirt and debris, we recommend mopping the flooring with a synthetic or sponge mop with a mild soap and water solution. You would then just let the floor air dry. For any small spills, you can use a paper towel or washrag to clean up the spill.

After being quoted $5000 to have 500sft of vinyl plank flooring installed in our basement, I had to find other options. I spoke to my personal trainer that converted his garage to a gym 7years ago and asked where he found his flooring and if he had any issues. He said it’s been perfect since installing and he had clients on it 10 hours a day! Since 1/2 our basement was a home gym I thought I’d see how much to do gym floor throughout. I ended up saving nearly $4000 and the ease of installation was worth worth so much more!!! I am thrilled with this purchase and have already recommended 3 people to buy this product!

- 5 out of 5 stars1/4 Inch Custom Cut Gym Flooring Rolls
I just installed 1/4 rubber flooring in a bedroom for my Autistic son. I used on-line chat to get my custom quote. Ahead of that I ordered samples. This was very helpful for selecting the color. The teal seemed to pop as compared to the other colors. The process was explained to me and played out as described. The delivery was placed in the open bay of my garage and care was taken in the packaging of the rolls for delivery. Scrap pieces of rubber were used to protect the ends of the rolls. The rolls arrived in perfect condition. One of my rolls needed to extend into a closet and the other two needed to extend to a door which was at at an angle. I used paper to create a template. This worked like a charm. I suggest using that method for custom cuts. Cutting the 1/4 inch rolls was easy. I used a drywall T-square and a utility knife with a new blade. I was able to complete the install using the same blade. The install went over plywood sub floor and the seams were anchored with double backed tape. Suggest placing the tape down first, then peeling off the top side last. The finished product looks great; I just hope my son doesn't find a way to destroy it, he is good at that.
