Recommended Uses: Mega Rubber Roll flooring can be used successfully in commercial weight rooms and as bodybuilding gym flooring. These rolls have even been used in Olympic training facilities to provide a safe, nonslip flooring surface with extreme durability and shock absorption capabilities to protect subfloors from dropped weights. The mega rolls are also a popular choice around ice skating rinks where people may end up walking on the flooring with ice skate blades and in locations such as major league dugouts where metal spikes are commonly used.

Quick Notes:

The Confetti and Natural colors are made from post-industrial recycled rubber. Confetti typically includes a mix of multiple colors, but the blend and percentage of each color vary with each production run—and in some cases, may consist entirely of neutral tones like grays. Natural is made from standard recycled rubber and whitewall car tires. As a result, color and shade variation is expected in both options.

When installing rolled rubber flooring, it is recommended that you use an adhesive to prevent the rolls from moving around or sliding apart between adjacent rolls. The most common methods of adhering rubber rolls to the subfloor are:

A: Double-Sided Tape Installation

First, clean your subfloor so it is free of all dust, dirt, and debris.
Loose lay your rolls in the room as you would like them to look after a complete installation. Let the rolls relax for 24-48 hours to ensure the proper installation of your new flooring.
Note: Rolls may be directional, so make sure the color matches on each roll. If the roll colors do not match, flip them or turn them 180 degrees to ensure the color matches.
Make any necessary cuts to the rolls to fit them into the room using a straight edge and a utility knife with a fresh blade. We recommend leaving a gap around the rolls roughly the thickness of the rolls being used to account for expansion and contraction.
Roll up the rolls at one end of the room. Apply double-sided tape to the floor along the perimeter of each roll.
Place the rubber rolls back into position on top of the double-sided tape.

B: Glue Installation

First, clean your subfloor so that it is free of all dirt, dust, and debris. Also, when gluing your flooring down, it is recommended that the subfloor is free of any moisture.
Loose lay your rolls in the room as you would like them to look after a complete installation. Let the rolls relax for 24-48 hours to ensure the proper installation of your new flooring.
Note: Rolls may be directional, so make sure the color matches on each roll. If the roll colors do not match, flip them or turn them 180 degrees to ensure the color matches.
Make any necessary cuts to the rolls to fit them into the room using a straight edge and a utility knife with a fresh blade. We recommend leaving a gap around the rolls roughly the thickness of the rolls being used to account for expansion and contraction.
Roll up the rolls at one end of the room. Spread a light layer of polyurethane adhesive that is 10’ long (maximum) and unroll the flooring into the adhesive 10’ at a time.
Repeat this step for every 10’ of roll length until the entire roll has been unrolled into its desired position.
After all of the rolls have been glued down, it is often recommended to use a 100-pound roller on the floor to guarantee good adherence to the subfloor. If a roller is not available, walking on the flooring in small choppy steps may also work.

Keeping your Rubber Rolls clean and looking their best is easy with these simple maintenance tips: Sweep or vacuum loose debris regularly to prevent buildup and minimize the risk of slips and falls. For a deeper clean, simply damp mop the rubber rolls with a mild soap and water solution. We recommend using Dawn dish detergent or Tide laundry detergent. Do not use any solvent or oil-based cleaners like Pinesol, Lysol, Murphy's Oil Soap, WD40, paint thinner, or similar products. These cleaners can break down the flooring over time and cause damage.

You can park a car on our 1/2" and 3/8" rubber rolls, but if your car leaks oil, the roll will start to break down over time. Most other vehicle chemicals will not affect the flooring in this manner.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls can be used outdoors. Some fading may occur in direct sunlight, but the floor itself will stand up to the elements.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls are very safe and can be installed in your daughter's play area. The rubber flooring is cleaned thoroughly to ensure that any dirt, debris, and chemicals are properly removed before making our rubber flooring. You can deadlift, squat, and drop heavy weight on our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls. These rolls are commonly used in CrossFit gyms and areas where heavy Olympic lifting happens. You will not destroy these floors doing any Olympic lifts.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls are smooth on the top and bottom of the rolls. Our rubber flooring is not the proper floor for practicing ballet. For ballet, you will need a certain amount of slip, and rubber flooring is known as one of the best non-slip floors on the market. The rolled diameter of a 50' 1/2" roll is 20".

We do not currently have a Rubber Ramp that will fit our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls. You can use one of our standard flooring reducers to create a transition between floors. You can find all of our trims and moldings on our Trims and Moldings page.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls are not odor free. There will be a rubber smell that will dissipate over time. If the smell is too much, we recommend mopping the floor with mild soap and water solution and letting the floor air dry. If you are looking for rubber that does not have a strong odor, we recommend purchasing one of our Virgin Rubber Tiles.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls have been used in outdoor playground areas. The flooring is very durable and is more shock absorbing than concrete or asphalt. You will not get any fall height ratings from this floor, but it works perfect in general play areas.

You can install our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls outdoors. These rolls are made from the same material as your tires. With that being said, just like your tires, they will fade a bit in direct sunlight. All our rubber flooring is mold and mildew resistant and very easy to clean and maintain. Another added benefit is that rubber is more slip resistant when wet.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls will not allow water to flow through the flooring. These rolls are semi-permeable, and all liquids will pool on the flooring surface. There are some pores in the floor, so liquid can get in these pores, but the pores do not go through the floor, so when any liquid drys, any solids that were in the liquid can get caught in the floor. This will show as a whitening of the floor. There is no easy way to get rid of these solids, so we recommend using our floor finish and...

You can install our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls over a concrete floor with in-floor heating. The rubber flooring will not melt. The only thing you will notice is that you won't get the full effect of the floor heating system. These systems were made for porous materials like stone and tile. Rubber is a decent insulator, so you will only get some effects of the floor heating system.

Currently, our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls only come in a 4' wide roll.

Our1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls have been used in barns all across the US and Canada in barn aisles and wash rack areas. These rubber rolls are very easy to clean and maintain and are very slip-resistant and even more so when wet. They are also mold and mildew resistant.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls perform best over commercial grade low pile carpet. Since your wanting to use this roll as a mat, the weight of the treadmill should keep the roll solid underneath the treadmill. There may be some bending due to the carpet being a high pile carpet, but there shouldn't be much. This roll should perform better than the thinner mats you have been using. If you prepare the surface properly, our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls can be glued to any surface. You will want to use a polyurethane adhesive.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls and all of our rubber rolls are 4' wide.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls and all of our rubber flooring will expand and contract in extreme temperature variations. To help prevent this, we recommend gluing the flooring down. If you don't glue the flooring, we recommend cutting an expansion gap from 1/2" to a 1" around the perimeter of the floor to properly expand and contract. Typically the flooring will expand around the perimeter, not as much at the seams, but it can.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls would be suitable for plyometric workouts.

If the space doesn't get a lot of traffic, using an acrylic paint will work just fine. If there will be a little more traffic, we recommend using an exterior paint. You can install our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls over a concrete slab or any other flat, solid surface like asphalt or wood decking. There are no real got you moments that come with installing rubber over concrete. One thing you will want to be aware of is if your concrete floor is allowing water to flow through it. If so, you may want to seal the floor before you install the rubber. The moisture won't hurt the flooring, but your flooring may end up sweating. Rubber is more slip resistant when wet...

Our Mega Rubber Rolls would work perfectly as flooring for a wet area where kids will be playing and running through sprinklers. Rubber is very slip resistant and when wet, is even more slip resistant. These rolls would be very easy to install over a wood deck to allow for drainage. You would be able to install the rolls without any glue or tape, but if there were some movement, you could use double sided tape or our polyurethane adhesive. Since all of our rubber rolls are made from recycled tires, they are durable enough to handle any weather so that these rolls will perform just fine in the coldest of winters to the hottest of summers. Another great aspect of rubber flooring is that its mold and mildew resistant and is very easy to clean and maintain. The only thing you will notice with having our rubber rolls outdoors is that there will be some fading over time with the rolls.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls are very easy to clean and have been used for dog training and doggy daycares with great success. Our rubber rolls are somewhat porous, so any urine that gets on the floor will sit on top of the floor. If allowed to dry, the salts in the urine will get in the floor and will be impossible to get out. OUr 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls have a Class 3 fire rating.

For our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls we offer a 1/2" floor ramp that can be used to bevel your floor at a doorway. This will create the cleanest transition between floors.

You can use our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls as a vapor barrier if you seal them. You would use our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer on the floor and then use our Seam Sealer glue at the seams. Once you have done this, then yes you can use our rubber rolls as a vapor barrier. For a product that would work better than our rubber rolls, we suggest using our Nitro Rolls as a vapor barrier. These rolls are non-porous.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls can be cut with a sharp utility knife and a straight edge pretty easily. Since it is pretty thick, you may have to score the floor a few times before getting all the way through, but it can be easily done.

You can install our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls right over the wood subflooring on the second floor. This is our thickest rubber roll and will provide you with tons of shock and sound absorption. If you still have more noise coming from the second floor than you like, we recommend adding a few rubber mats under your equipment and where you will drop weights to help deaden any noise or vibration more. You don't have to seal our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls. If you did want to seal the flooring, you can with our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer. To clean our rubber flooring, all you would need to do is sweep any large dirt and debris and then damp mop the flooring with a mild soap and water solution or our Rubber Floor Cleaner and Degreaser. You will want to mop the flooring with a synthetic mop.

Our minimum cut length right now for our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls is 15' long. The width is standard at 4'.

You can cut our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls easily with a sharp utility knife and a straight edge. The rubber will handle the heat just fine, just like your car tires. The melting point for rubber is well over 200 degrees Fahrenheit. To attach the plastic pieces to the rubber flooring, we recommend using our Polyurethane adhesive. This gives you the strongest hold and will also stand up to the elements.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls would work well as flooring for pets. This rubber flooring is very easy to clean and can be sealed with our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer to create a floor that is easy to sanitize. Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls do have some sound absorbing properties but they are not tested specifically for IIC and STC ratings. If you are looking for a product that would provide you with optimal readings in both IIC and STC, we recommend purchasing one of our Rubber Underlayments.

You can install our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls on a covered deck that gets rain and snow. Our rubber flooring is very durable and can withstand the elements. Our rubber flooring is very easy to clean and maintain and is mold and mildew resistant. These rubber rolls are also slip-resistant and are more slip resistant when wet. The only thing you may notice over time is that the rubber may fade a bit in direct sunlight.

These rubber rolls are made from recycled truck tires, so they will be able to handle the elements as well as your tires would. Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls can be installed in a basement over concrete. Our rubber flooring is water-resistant and will not be affected if water to get in between the flooring and the concrete subfloor. We recommend in basements to loose lay our rubber flooring, so if there is a flooding event, you can easily remove the rolls and properly clean them. You can easily cut our rubber flooring to add areas for drainage with a sharp utility knife.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls do not contain any toxic chemicals or phthalates. These rolls are low odor but do have a rubber smell to them. We recommend if you are sensitive to smells to mop the floor with a mild soap and water solution and to let the flooring air dry in a well-ventilated space. For large dirt and debris, we recommend either sweeping the floor or using a brushless vacuum to remove it from our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls properly. To clean stuck-on dirt and debris, we recommend mopping the floor with a mild soap and water solution with a synthetic mop head mop. You would then let the floor air dry.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls and all of our custom cut rubber flooring can only be cut in whole foot increments. When you order our custom cut rubber flooring, you will get a little extra on each roll to account for inherent shrinking and to ensure you are able to floor your whole room wall to wall as no room is perfectly square.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls and rubber flooring, in general, is typically not the best floor for basketball as there is a certain amount of slip that you want to have while playing basketball. Rubber flooring has a very high coefficient of friction, and due to this, one could get injured when performing certain moves while playing basketball or any other sport. Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls have been used as flooring in offices all over the US and can handle constant use of rolling chairs on it. Our rubber flooring is pretty resistant to several chemicals and can handle denatured alcohol, and acetone on it.

You can install our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls in a salon. Bleach and other chemicals will not harm the floor in any way. Rubber flooring is very slip-resistant, even when wet, and is very easy to clean and maintain.

You can install our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls over a laminate or wood floor. These rubber rolls will not affect the laminate in any way. If you are concerned about any staining or marks being left behind, you can always place a plastic sheet under the tiles to further protect your laminate or wood flooring.

There are a few ways to piece two of our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls together. The first would be to use our double-sided carpet tape under the rolls down the seam. This will help to keep the seam tight and prevent the rolls from moving. The next method would be to use our Seam Sealer glue on the seam. This will also keep the seam tight and prevent the rolls from separating.

ou can install our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls over a luxury vinyl floor. The reason that you can install it over a luxury vinyl floor, waterproof, or rigid core floor is due to these products having a wear layer that protects the actual vinyl. If you were to install this over a standard vinyl floor, we would recommend placing a plastic sheet between the vinyl and rubber. This will help to prevent any reaction from happening between the rubber and vinyl.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls are great for dropping heavy weights. This thickness is commonly found in Cross Fit and Olympic lifting gyms. Our rubber flooring will not damage your hardwood flooring, and you wouldn't have to double up the rubber flooring to keep the hardwood underneath protected.

Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls weigh approximately 3 pounds per square foot. So a 4' x 15' roll weighs approximately 180 pounds.

We don't have a specific weight drop limit for our rubber flooring. There are too many variables that can cause damage. What we do know is that our flooring is super durable and will protect a concrete subfloor with ease. We have installed our 1/2" rubber flooring in some of the most demanding spaces from professional weight rooms, Cross Fit gyms, and even at the Mr. Olympia Contest. So if it can withstand those environments and protect the subfloor, it can perform everywhere installed.

The gold color in our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls is just a darker yellow.

The color flec seen in our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls or any of our other rubber products is purely cosmetic and has no bearing on our products' durability.

You can use a weighted sled on our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls or any of our rubber rolls. Since rubber is very slip-resistant, you will need to reduce the friction. You can do this by using a plastic sled or adding carpet or plastic under your current sled.

Drilling into our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls will not compromise the integrity of the rolls. Drilling into the rolls is very typical in commercial settings.
