Could the 1/2" or 3/8" be used in a garage to park cars on and can it take chemicals (oil)?
You can park a car on our 1/2" and 3/8" rubber rolls, but if your car leaks oil, the roll will start to break down over time. Most other vehicle chemicals will not affect the flooring in this manner.
Was this helpful?Hi, can those Rubber Rolls be used outdoors?
Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls can be used outdoors. Some fading may occur in direct sunlight, but the floor itself will stand up to the elements.
Was this helpful?I want to install these in my daughters indoor play area but was wondering if these mats pose any sort of health hazard. Is it safe to have my daughter in close proximity of these mats for several hours a day given the chemicals they contain?
Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls are very safe and can be installed in your daughter's play area. The rubber flooring is cleaned thoroughly to ensure that any dirt, debris, and chemicals are properly removed before making our rubber flooring. If you would like product testing for our Mega Rubber Rolls, please feel free to contact one of our flooring heroes and they would be more than happy to present you any documentation you needed.
Was this helpful? Is the top of this flooring smooth? We are using for a home gym, but my daughter will also practice her ballet on it, so she needs to be able to spin.
Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls are smooth on the top and bottom of the rolls. Our rubber flooring is not the proper floor for practicing ballet. For ballet, you will need a certain amount of slip, and rubber flooring is known as one of the best non-slip floors on the market. If you wanted a great multiuse floor that is great for working out on and for ballet, we recommend purchasing our Impact Rolls - Wood Series. This floor combines the properties of a rubber floor with a vinyl top that will allow for the proper amount of slip needed for practicing ballet.
Was this helpful?I'm looking to put this in my basement for a home gym. I need the mats to withstand 600lbs being dropped on them from performing deadlifts and squatting over 400lbs. need something durable.
You can deadlift, squat, and drop heavy weight on our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls. These rolls are commonly used in CrossFit gyms and areas where heavy Olympic lifting happens. You will not destroy these floors doing any Olympic lifts.
Was this helpful?What is the weight of a 4’ x 15’ half-inch thick roll?
Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls weigh approximately 3 pounds per square foot. So a 4' x 15' roll weighs approximately 180 pounds.
Was this helpful? What is the best roll product for heavy use in a horse barn aisle and wash rack area? Needs to be installed over asphalt. We would like something other than black if possible.
Our1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls have been used in barns all across the US and Canada in barn aisles and wash rack areas. These rubber rolls are very easy to clean and maintain and are very slip-resistant and even more so when wet. They are also mold and mildew resistant.
Was this helpful? Can your 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls be greater than 48" wide? I need 54" x 18'.
Currently, our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls only come in a 4' wide roll.
Was this helpful? Can these floors be used over concrete with in-floor heat? And if not, do you offer flooring that would be better used for this?
You can install our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls over a concrete floor with in-floor heating. The rubber flooring will not melt. The only thing you will notice is that you won't get the full effect of the floor heating system. These systems were made for porous materials like stone and tile. Rubber is a decent insulator, so you will only get some effects of the floor heating system.
Was this helpful?Does the mega rubber roll flooring absorb water or is it impermeable? I want to use it outside to cover an area where rain will fall on the surface.
Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls will not allow water to flow through the flooring. These rolls are semi-permeable, and all liquids will pool on the flooring surface. There are some pores in the floor, so liquid can get in these pores, but the pores do not go through the floor, so when any liquid drys, any solids that were in the liquid can get caught in the floor. This will show as a whitening of the floor. There is no easy way to get rid of these solids, so we recommend using our floor finish and sealer to keep your rubber looking like new longer.
Was this helpful? Can you install your 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls Outdoors? I plan to install the rolls over existing stairs between the house and the lake?
You can install our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls outdoors. These rolls are made from the same material as your tires. With that being said, just like your tires, they will fade a bit in direct sunlight. All our rubber flooring is mold and mildew resistant and very easy to clean and maintain. Another added benefit is that rubber is more slip resistant when wet.
Was this helpful?Has anyone used this under an outdoor playground area (swings, slides, etc.)
Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls have been used in outdoor playground areas. The flooring is very durable and is more shock absorbing than concrete or asphalt. You will not get any fall height ratings from this floor, but it works perfect in general play areas.
Was this helpful? Are these odor free?
Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls are not odor free. There will be a rubber smell that will dissipate over time. If the smell is too much, we recommend mopping the floor with mild soap and water solution and letting the floor air dry. If you are looking for rubber that does not have a strong odor, we recommend purchasing one of our Virgin Rubber Tiles.
Was this helpful?I need to know how large in diameter the 1/2" rolled rubber 50' lengths are?
The rolled diameter of a 50' 1/2" roll is 20".
Was this helpful? Can I cut these to fit half of my garage (which I am using as a home gym)?
Yes, our rubber rolls can easily be cut with a utility knife. We recommend starting the cut by scoring the rubber and then continuing to do that until it cuts through. This will help ensure a smooth cut.
Was this helpful?I’m considering putting this over Saltillo tile for a workout floor space and wondering if there is any risk of the black rubbing off onto the tile?
Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls will not rub off on your Saltillo tiles or any other flooring surface. If you are concerned it will, we recommend placing a plastic sheet under our rubber rolls or any rubber flooring to ensure it doesn't.
Was this helpful?Hello, can the 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls be used on the wall? My son has autism and bangs his head. Would this be soft enough where he won't hurt himself?
Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls and all rubber rolls can be installed on a wall. You will want to use one of our polyurethane adhesives to adhere the rolls to the wall. You will need to place some material in front of the rolls to allow the glue and rolls to bind. These are not as soft as, say, a foam tile, but they will help to lessen the blows. If you are looking for something that will be less dense than our standard rubber rolls but denser than a foam tile, we suggest purchasing our Black Regrind Rolls or our Eco-Flec Rolls. They are less dense, helping to reduce the impact.
Was this helpful? Is the 1/2" Mega Rubber Roll firm enough to use exercise equipment with wheels, e.g., ab roller, etc., and not buckle or move under the wheel?
Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls are firm enough that you can move gym equipment across them that have wheels, and the floor wouldn't buckle. Over time, the only thing you will notice with any heavy equipment is that there may be an indentation where the equipment sat. If the equipment was in the location for a short duration, the flooring does have some memory and will bounce back. If the gym equipment were there for an extended time, the indentation would become permanent.
Was this helpful? Can this flooring be used for stairs as well? If so, what should a buyer know about that?
Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls can be installed on stairs. When installing these on stairs, you would cut and glue the pieces onto the stairs. You would then install a stair nose over the rubber to protect the seams. The type of glue you will use is a polyurethane adhesive.
