Can you cut the 1/2" roll with a saw instead of a utility knife?
Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls can be cut with a bandsaw, circular saw, or rotary tool. When cutting our rubber flooring with a power tool, you will want to make sure to run the tool at low speed with a lot of water to keep the blade cool. If you don't keep the blade cool, you will melt the rubber, making cutting more difficult and less precise.

Was this helpful? What is the recommended installation method if I am putting this outside on the (dirt) ground?
If installing our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls or any of our rubber rolls over dirt, you can simply lay the rubber down on the ground. There is no need to further secure it with glue or tape as neither would work over dirt. If your ground is uneven and you want the rubber flooring to perform at its best, we recommend leveling the ground with compacted crushed granite and then placing the roll over that. This would help to reduce any tripping hazards.

Was this helpful?I know I can't lay linoleum on top of the underlayment rubber, but can I lay linoleum on top of the rubber flooring. I want to soften any fall for my 96-year-old father in his bedroom.
We wouldn't recommend placing our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls or any rubber product under linoleum. If you are looking for a product that would give you a pleasant-looking floor that is also impact resistant, we would recommend installing or Impact Rolls - Wood Series or the Rx series rolls. These products feature a vinyl top over a rubber underlay. They are very easy to clean and maintain and are just as easy to install.

Was this helpful? How much weight can be dropped on the 1/2” rubber rolls without damaging the concrete underneath them?
We don't have a specific weight drop limit for our rubber flooring. There are too many variables that can cause damage. What we do know is that our flooring is super durable and will protect a concrete subfloor with ease. We have installed our 1/2" rubber flooring in some of the most demanding spaces from professional weight rooms, Cross Fit gyms, and even at the Mr. Olympia Contest. So if it can withstand those environments and protect the subfloor, it can perform everywhere installed.
Was this helpful?Hey, I’m looking to build a home gym, and our flooring is all hardwood. Would these be suitable for the occasional (accidental) dropping of 400+ lbs without damaging the hardwood? Or would you recommend doubling up the rubber flooring?
Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls are great for dropping heavy weights. This thickness is commonly found in Cross Fit and Olympic lifting gyms. Our rubber flooring will not damage your hardwood flooring, and you wouldn't have to double up the rubber flooring to keep the hardwood underneath protected.
Was this helpful?I'm creating a home gym in my finished basement where I've installed vinyl flooring and looking to use the 1/2" rolled rubber for the area. Does the rolled rubber react &/or stain the vinyl flooring? If so, then do you recommend any specific barrier to protect from damage?
ou can install our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls over a luxury vinyl floor. The reason that you can install it over a luxury vinyl floor, waterproof, or rigid core floor is due to these products having a wear layer that protects the actual vinyl. If you were to install this over a standard vinyl floor, we would recommend placing a plastic sheet between the vinyl and rubber. This will help to prevent any reaction from happening between the rubber and vinyl.
Was this helpful? How do you link two pieces of rubber flooring together?
There are a few ways to piece two of our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls together. The first would be to use our double-sided carpet tape under the rolls down the seam. This will help to keep the seam tight and prevent the rolls from moving. The next method would be to use our Seam Sealer glue on the seam. This will also keep the seam tight and prevent the rolls from separating.
Was this helpful?I would like to build a temporary home gym in a room in my basement and use rubber rolls for flooring. I hope to do Olympic style lifting so I would intend to use 1/2" thick roll. I currently have laminate flooring installed and wish to keep it underneath the rubber flooring as I will convert it back to a bedroom in 5-7 years. Would it be okay to install rubber roll over the laminate? Do you have any recommendations or feedback from previous customers. Thanks
You can install our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls over a laminate or wood floor. These rubber rolls will not affect the laminate in any way. If you are concerned about any staining or marks being left behind, you can always place a plastic sheet under the tiles to further protect your laminate or wood flooring.

Was this helpful? Will this flooring tolerate office chairs w/wheels being run over it consistently? And, will it stand up to Denatured alcohol (shellac thinner) and acetone? If not, which product should I be looking at?
Our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls have been used as flooring in offices all over the US and can handle constant use of rolling chairs on it. Our rubber flooring is pretty resistant to several chemicals and can handle denatured alcohol, and acetone on it.
Was this helpful?Could this be used as an outdoor sports court over compacted dirt? Will balls bounce on it if it's not on concrete?
Technically our 1/2" Mega Rubber Rolls could be used as court flooring, but we don't recommend it. Rubber flooring has a very high coefficient of friction, and due to this, one could get injured when performing certain moves while playing basketball or any other sport. We do offer a wide range of court floors that would be great to use. With these hard plastic courts, you can place a rubber underlay under them to help add more bounce and cushion to your floor. This will help to give you more shock absorbency when jumping up and down on the court.
