These rubber tiles can also be used to create custom mats that won’t dent or tear under treadmills, stationary bikes, or weight benches and just like our Tight-Lock tiles, our Sport-Lock tile features a 5-year warranty.
Note: - Removable edge pieces may require some cutting for proper removal.

Sport-Lock rubber tiles are extremely easy to maintain and keep clean. Maintenance of these interlocking rubber tiles typically includes:
  • Vacuuming any loose crumbs, dust, or debris from the surface when necessary.
  • Occasional damp mopping of the flooring with a mild soap and water solution. A few recommended soaps are Dawn dish detergent or Tide laundry detergent.
Note: Do not use any solvent or oil style cleaners such as Pinesol, Lysol, Murphy’s Oil Soap, WD40, paint thinner, etc. since these types of cleaners will break down the flooring over time.

Installation of interlocking tiles is very simple and typically done by the consumer. Typical installation of these tiles is as follows:
  • First, clean your sub floor so it is free of all dirt, grease or debris.
  • Snap a chalk line on the sub floor 36” from one wall in your room. Snap another chalk line on the subfloor 36” from an adjacent wall. You should now have a pair of perpendicular lines making an approximate 90-degree angle.
  • Begin laying the interlocking tiles along the chalk lines, snapping the locks together as you go.
  • Leave the perimeter of the room open until the field is installed.
  • After the field is covered, go back and cut in tiles along the walls in the room. It is recommended to leave a gap along the wall roughly the thickness of the tiles being used to account for expansion and contraction of the floor in varied temperature ranges.
Note: When piecing interlocking tiles together, adhesives are usually not used since the weight of the locked together product is usually enough to keep the floor tiles from moving. However, if you do experience movement and would like to ensure that the tiles do not slide at all, some double-sided tape or mat tape can be used around the perimeter of the installation to prevent any movement.

Don't see what you're looking for?
I recently saw this tile in a gym. I love the way it feels under foot. Do you make this for a kitchen floor?
Linda
Our 3/8" Sport-Lock Rubber tiles can be used as flooring in a residential kitchen. These tiles will provide comfort under foot and are slip resistant when wet.
Do the rubber tiles come with edge pieces to finish off the look. I'm nervous about having the edge of my gym flooring be uneven
Lauren
Each 3/8" Sport-Loc Rubber Tile comes with removable edging so you can create a finished look. Each tile can be made into a corner, border, or center tile.
I am looking for a floor for my basement that could leak under severe conditions as we are currently having in Missouri. Are these rubber tiles suitable?
Kim
Our 3/8" Sport-Lock Rubber Tiles are great as a basement floor. Since these tiles are interlocking tiles, they would be easy to move if and when your basement floods. If these tiles do get flooded, they can be moved and then placed outside to dry. Once dried and cleaned they can be placed back in your basement like new.
We just installed the gym tiles, very strong in odor. What is this made of and what are the hazards?
Isela
Our 3/8" Sport-Lock Rubber Tiles are not hazardous and are made from recycled rubber with a urethane binder to keep the tile together. To help to mitigate the odor of the flooring, we recommend mopping the flooring with a mild soap and water solution and then letting the flooring air dry. This may need to be done a few times to eliminate the smell.
Would this flooring work well for heavy lifting? If I were to drop a weighted barbell, would it damage the floor?
Vincent Flanagan
You can drop heavy weights on our 3/8" Sport-Lock Rubber Tiles. This thickness is the most common thickness used in commercial gyms. We typically say you can easily drop 100 lb dumbbells on these tiles with little concern of damage occurring to the subfloor under the tiles. Since a barbell with plates typically diffuses the amount of weight placed at one spot of the floor, you can drop a weighted barbell with no worries to damaging your subfloor.

Self-installed in Laundry room and mudroom

I installed about 500 sq ft of this in a new laundry room and mudroom. The install was a bit more difficult than I expected. I had a lot of cuts to make around doorways, stairs, pipes, etc. It's pretty heavy and if you have a really sharp razor in your utility knife it cuts ok, but not great. I changed the blade about every 8-10 cuts and that helped a lot. When you rip the strips off on the one side sometimes it leaves little ″knobby″ things that you have to trim off carefully or it won't lock together very well with the next piece. I installed this on three stairs (only one visible in pic). For the riser I bought some rubber glue spray stuff from HD. Then I put a metal bullnose thing on the edge and I think it's going to hold up very well. My only complaint is when the kids come in with dusty feet it leaves foot prints. You can even see some on the right in the pic. It comes up with a wet rag/mop but because of the black color, the dust does show. We'll see how this wears over time but so far we really like it. We were going for more of an industrial look and I think we achieved that with the floor.

  COMPLETELY SATISFIED!
Installed in Physical Therapy Clinic (business)
Orthopaedic Physical Therapy of New Orleans from New Orleans, LA wrote...
I purchased rubber flooring for my business. I had the floors put in and it took the contractors about 2 working days to do the installation. It was easy to unload from the deliverer, and the contractors were amazed how easy it was to install! After the installation, the place looks GREAT! All the furniture and equipment were easy to put back in its proper place because the floors could not be damaged. My business is a physical therapy clinic and we have patients coming and going all day long. Even our patients notice the difference, not by appearance, but by walking on the floors. It is so much lighter on our feet and easier to walk on. It is also safer to walk on because, before, we had carpet; and sometimes, patients were not able to keep their balance. However, the rubber flooring has really made a difference on patients' gait training and balance exercises. They have commented that it is easier to do their exercises and feel a sense of security when performing gait training and balance exercises. Also, at first we did not know how to clean it but we researched it and it is SO easy to clean! We just mop the floors using water and it leaves a nice clean look. There are no footprints unless there are really muddy feet walking. Also, usually we would vacuum our floors but now we can do a fast and easy sweep to the area. I would greatly recommend this product to anyone who are interested in replacing floors with an excellent product. Actually, I have already recommended rubber flooring from Rubber Flooring Inc. to people who have asked about my flooring.
  Excellent product...looks great
Self-installed in Basement Home Gym

The 3/8″ sport-lock rubber tiles are an excellent product and should withstand many years of heavy use. I purchased them for a home gym to be installed directly over a concrete basement. The tiles are thick enough to withstand heavy free weights and protect the concrete underneath. Installation was fairly easy, as I had to make only a few small cuts to fit. The whole floor is seamless, as you cannot even see where the tiles interlock from standing height. Overall, the sport-lock tiles look as advertised and should be durable for many years. I would highly recommend the 3/8″ sport-lock rubber tiles!!!
