More Information

Love lifting heavy weights, imagining you are the Rock? Then you need to get our 1/2" Tight-Lock Rubber Tiles. Featuring the same interlocking system as our ever-so-popular 3/8" Tight-Lock Tiles, these rubber tiles are the perfect floor for any style of Olympic lifting. Virtually seamless, when installed, these interlocking rubber tiles feature all of the great features of the thinner version and are backed by a 5-year warranty. These interlocking rubber tiles are great for both home and commercial use.

Material: Recycled rubber buffings and colored EPDM virgin rubber flecks. Rubber buffings are the "Filet Mignon" of the recycled rubber industry since they are the cleanest, strongest, and most consistent raw material as compared to some of the less expensive recycled crumb rubber alternatives available.

Size: 36" x 36" (Note: Tiles do overlap 1" where they lock together)

Thickness: 1/2"

Weight: Each tile weighs approximately 20 lbs.

Recommended Uses: Our 1/2" Tight-Lock Rubber Tiles are the perfect flooring option for Olympic lifts and are commonly used as rubber gym flooring in CrossFit gyms, commercial gyms, garage gyms, home gyms, as basement flooring, trade show flooring, and much more.

Installation of these interlocking rubber tiles is very simple and usually done by the consumer. Typical installation of these tiles is as follows:

  • First, clean your subfloor, so it is free of all dirt, grease, or debris. Start in one corner of the room with a corner tile and add border tiles outward along the adjacent walls. Leave the other two edges of the room open and fill in the rest of the room, adding center, corner, and border tiles where you see fit.
  • After the open floor is covered, go back and cut in tiles along the opposite walls in the room. We recommend leaving a gap along the walls roughly the tiles' thickness being used to account for expansion and contraction of the floor in varied temperature ranges.

Note: When piecing interlocking tiles together, adhesives aren’t usually needed since the weight of the product is usually enough to keep the floor tiles from moving. However, if you do experience movement and would like to ensure that the tiles do not slide at all, you can use some double-sided tape or mat tape around the perimeter of the installation to prevent any movement.

Vacuuming any loose dust, dirt, or debris from the flooring surface when necessary. Occasional damp mopping of the rolls with a mild soap and water mixture. Some soaps commonly used include Dawn dish detergent and/or Tide laundry detergent. Note: Do not use any solvent or oil style cleaners such as Pinesol, Lysol, Murphy’s Oil Soap, WD40, paint thinner, etc. since these types of cleaners will break down the flooring over time
5-Year Warranty.

We don't have ramp tiles for our 1/2" Tight-Lock Tiles but we do offer a rubber floor ramp for them. This will slop the flooring down to an 1/8" ensuring that your flooring won't create a trip hazard.

Our 1/2" Tight-Lock Tiles don't have a strong rubber smell. If you are looking for a rubber tile that has no smell, then we would suggest going with one of our virgin rubber tiles. If you are sensitive to smells, we do recommend mopping our rubber flooring with a mild soap and water solution with a synthetic mop head. You can park a vehicle on our rubber tiles, but we don't recommend using it as a garage flooring. Rubber can be damaged by oil that can leak from your vehicle. If your vehicle...
If your vehicle does leak, we recommend placing our Nitro Rolls or an AutoFloorGuard mat under your vehicle. The other reason we don't recommend rubber tiles as a garage floor is due to the separation of the flooring due to the turning of your wheels when going in and out of your garage. You can prevent this by adding some double-sided tape under the tiles or you can glue the tiles down.
