These tiles can also be used as rubber mats under treadmills, stationary bikes, and weight equipment, as general exercise mats, or anywhere else, a durable, shock-absorbing rubber flooring surface would be useful.

Note: Since each tile is black, scuff marks, scratches, and footprints will be very apparent. To help alleviate this issue, we recommend cleaning these tiles regularly with a mild soap and water solution or our Rubber Floor Cleaner and Degreaser.

Note: This flooring is not designed to withstand repeated heavy-weight drops and is intended for light-duty gym use.

  • Interlocking
  • No
When installing Evolution Rubber Tiles, there are two common methods of installation:

No Cut Kits:
No Tools Needed.
In this method of installation, tiles are chosen so that they fit the closest size under your room size with no cutting of tiles required. Tiles that can be used easily for this method have center, corner, and border tiles available.

Directions:
  • Clean your sub floor so that it is free of all dust, dirt, grease or other foreign material.
  • Start in one corner of the room with a corner tile and add border tiles outward along the adjacent walls.
  • Add center, corner, and border tiles where you see fit.

Wall to Wall Installation:

In this installation method, rubber tiles are chosen so that they fit the closest size to your room size. Some cutting of tiles may be needed.

Tools needed:
  • Utility Knife
  • Straight Edge

Directions:
  • Clean your subfloor so that it is free of dust, dirt, grease, or other foreign material. It is also recommended that the subfloor be free of moisture when gluing your flooring down.
  • Begin laying the interlocking tiles along the chalk lines, snapping the locks together as you go.
  • Leave the perimeter of the room open until the field is installed.
  • After the field is covered, go back and cut in tiles along the walls in the room. Leaving a gap at the wall roughly the thickness of the tiles being used is often recommended to account for the expansion and contraction of the floor tiles in high-temperature range climates.

Note: If you are using a tile system with corner, center, and border tiles available for a wall-to-wall install, it is usually easiest to start in one corner of the room with a corner tile, line the adjacent walls with border tiles, and fill in the rest of the room with center cut tiles.

Note: When piecing interlocking tiles together, adhesives are usually not used since the weight of the locked-together product is usually enough to keep the floor tiles from moving. However, if you do experience some movement and would like to ensure that the tiles do not slide at all, some double-sided carpet tape can be used around the perimeter of the installation to prevent any movement.
Evolution Rubber Tiles are extremely durable and easy to maintain. Maintenance of these interlocking gym tiles includes:
  • Vacuuming any loose crumbs, dust, or debris from the surface when necessary.
  • Occasionally damp mopping with a mild soap and water solution. Recommended soaps are Dawn dish detergent or Tide laundry detergent.
  • For stubborn stains and marks, scrubbing of the floor may be necessary. Floor scrubbing brushes with plastic bristles provide the best results.

Note: Do not use any solvent or oil style cleaners such as Pinesol, Lysol, Murphy’s Oil Soap, WD40, paint thinner, etc. since these types of cleaners will break down the flooring over time.
5-Year Limited Manufacturer Warranty.
