Description - Our heavy-duty commercial rolled rubber flooring is the highest quality rubber gym flooring available. It is built for extreme durability and can be found in many commercial weight rooms around the United States. The rolls are machine cut and are easy to install. These rubber rolls can be used indoors and out.
Material – Recycled rubber buffings and colored EPDM virgin rubber flecks. Rubber buffings are the “Filet Mignon” of the recycled rubber industry since they are the cleanest, strongest, and most consistent raw material as compared to some of the discount recycled crumb rubber alternatives available.
Width – Each roll is 4' wide.
Length – The rolls are custom cut to your desired length free of charge, provided that each roll length is 15’ or longer, and in whole foot increments such as 15’, 16’, 17’, etc. You will normally receive an extra few inches on each roll. This allows for a quick and easy installation.
Thickness – 3/8" (~9mm)
Weight – 2.2 Lbs. per sqft.
Recommended Uses - Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls have been used successfully as home gym flooring, as commercial weight room flooring, under exercise equipment, in pet care facilities, as basement flooring, over radiant heated flooring systems, on outdoor patios and decks, as slip-resistant flooring on boat docks, as children's playroom flooring, in locker rooms, and any other place where a rubber floor solution would be useful to help prevent slipping and provide anti-fatigue and sound control qualities.
Note: – Orders over 3,000 sqft may require an additional 1-2 business days.
Note: – The Confetti and Natural colors are made from post-industrial recycled rubber. Confetti is a mix of multiple colors with random color percentages. Natural is standard rubber products and recycled white wall car tires. As a result, the shade and color may vary in these two options.

Available For Order - Ships between Mar 26 - Apr 2

Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are easy to clean. Maintenance includes:
  • Vacuuming loose dust, dirt, or debris from the surface when necessary.
  • Damp mopping with a mild soap and water mixture like Dawn or Tide.
Note: Do not use solvent or oil-based cleaners like Pinesol, Lysol, Murphy's Oil Soap, WD40, or paint thinner as they will break down the flooring over time.
For detailed and commercial cleaning instructions, click here.

When installing rolled rubber flooring, it's important to use an adhesive to prevent movement or separation between rolls. Two common methods for adhering rubber rolls to the subfloor are:

A: Double-Sided Tape Installation

  1. Clean the subfloor of all dust, dirt, and debris.
  2. Lay out the rolls in the room as you want them to appear after installation. Allow rolls to relax for 24-48 hours to ensure proper installation.
  3. Note: Rolls may be directional, so match the colors on each roll. Flip or turn them 180 degrees to ensure color matching if necessary.
  4. Cut rolls to fit the room using a straight edge and utility knife, leaving a gap around the rolls roughly the thickness of the rolls to account for expansion and contraction.
  5. Roll up the rolls at one end of the room. Apply double-sided tape to the floor along the perimeter of each roll.
  6. Replace the rubber rolls on top of the double-sided tape.

B: Glue Installation

  1. Clean the subfloor of all dirt, dust, and debris, and ensure the subfloor is free of moisture.
Spread a light layer of polyurethane adhesive that is 10’ long (maximum) and unroll the flooring into the adhesive 10’ at a time.
  6. Repeat this step for every 10’ of roll length until the entire roll has been unrolled into its desired position.
  7. After all of the rolls have been glued down, it is often recommended to use a 100-pound roller on the floor to guarantee good adherence to the subfloor. If a roller is not available, walking on the flooring in small choppy steps may also work.

Don't see what you're looking for?
Would this mat be too soft to dribble a basketball? I'm looking for a floor where the kids can dribble in the house.
Anonymous
Our rubber rolls are very dense and will allow a basketball to bounce the same as if the flooring were hardwood.
How do you cut the 3/8" rubber mats? I tried cutting my sample with a utility knife and it was not really working. I could but it would take a very long time.
Ben
The best way to cut our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls is with a sharp utility knife and a straight edge. We recommend doing a scoring pass, before starting your actual cut. This will make cutting the roll easier.
Will it mildew on concrete floor in the basement.
Neal
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are resistant to mold and mildew growth. The only time mold would ground it if there were foot stuck on the floor.
Can this flooring be used in the aisles of a horse barn?
Anonymous
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be used in the aisles of a horse barn.
What is the best way to clean your 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls?
Anonymous
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are very easy to clean. For dirt we suggest using a broom or vacuum. When mopping the rolls, we suggest using a synthetic mop head with a mild soap and water solution.
Is 3/8" or 1/2" rubber flooring better for a home gym, installed over a concrete floor? It will be mostly floor exercise and machines such as treadmills and ellipticals.
Dick
All of our rubber thicknesses are good for home gyms. For most home gyms where no heavy weight is being dropped, we recommend going with our 8mm thickness. For gyms where some heavy weights will be dropped, we suggest going with our 3/8" rubber. This is the most common thickness found in commercial gyms. Our 1/2" thickness is typical for anyone who is wanting to do any Olympic lifting. This will ensure that when weights are dropped from overhead, the subfloor won't be damaged. All thicknesses of our rubber flooring will be able to handle heavy weight equipment with ease.
Can you park a car on the 3/8" or 1/2" rolled flooring?
James
You can park a car on our 3/8" and 1/2" rubber rolls, but if your car leaks oil, the roll will start to break down over time. Most other vehicle chemicals will not affect the flooring in this manner.
Can you use these in workshop such as woodworking where you have stationary and machines on movable bases? if so, which thickness do you recommend? thanks.
Russ
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be used in a woodworking workshop where there are stationary machines on movable bases. Our heavy duty rubber rolls are made to be used in commercial gyms where heavy fitness equipment will be on the floor. This equipment can be stationary or moveable. So, it will be able to withstand any abuse in a workshop.
Would this flooring be good for a home gym where low to mid impact aerobics are performed?
Rhonda
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls would work perfectly for a home gym where low to mid-impact aerobics exercises are performed. This roll is commonly used in commercial gyms like LA Fitness, Gold's and the like and is our most popular rubber roll.
Can I use the heavy duty rubber roll outdoors over a soil walkway? Looking for an inexpensive way to cover a dirt walkway 4' x 32' around the back of my house? WIll rainwater sit on top or soak through? Will it fade in HOT Texas sun?
Diana
You can use our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls outdoors over a soil walkway. Water won't go through the flooring but will pond on top. The rolls will fade in direct sunlight whether it be in Texas or Alaska.
I read you don't recommend using rubber over carpet. I don't have the budget to have someone remove a portion of our basement carpet to put these mats down. What are the reasons you don't recommend just placing the mats on the carpet?
leeann
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be installed over carpet. As long as that carpet is a low pile or commercial carpet. The rolls can still be placed over a high pile carpet, but due to the carpet pad underneath, you may get separation of the rolls which can cause a tripping hazard.
Do these contain latex (natural rubber). If not, what are they made of.
Kat
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can contain a very low level of latex. These rolls are made from recycled truck tire treads, and if any of the rubber were to be natural rubber, there is potential for the allergen to be present.
Hi, I purchased 3/8in rubber flooring for my gym and I wanted to know the best way to clean it? Can I use a hard floor steam cleaner? Thanks.
Evan
You can use a hard floor steam cleaner on our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls. That is the best way to clean our floor. If you don't have a steamer, you can also use a synthetic mop with a mild soap and water solution.
Is it necessary to use a vapor barrier when installing the 3/8 heavy duty rubber rolls over a concrete basement floor?
Tony
A vapor barrier is not necessary when installing our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls.
Are these mats vulcanized/revulcanized?
Michael
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are not vulcanized.
Can I use this rubber outside for a swing set?
Amanda Gisclair
You can use our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls outdoors under a swing set. The rolls will help to protect the ground under the swing set from being destroyed. Our rubber flooring is very slip-resistant and is more so when wet. Our rubber rolls are also mold and mildew resistant. The only thing you will notice while having this rubber roll outdoors is that it will fade a bit in direct sunlight.
Can the 3/8" rubber flooring be installed over a tight knit commercial carpet that is approximately 1/4" thick that was glued to concrete? I don't want to have to tear up the carpet and clean off the concrete floor if not necessary! The area in question is about 45' long x 21' wide. Thanks!
Jason Waln
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty rubber Rolls can be placed over 1/4" thick commercial carpet. Under our rubber flooring, we recommend that the surface underneath be flat and solid. The only surfaces we don't recommend placing rubber flooring over are vinyl and plush carpets.
Does the rolled rubber flooring you sell have a solid rubber surface? The Lowe’s product has small cavities that catch dirt and are unacceptable.
Bob weaver
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are not vulcanized and would have small pores in the flooring. These pores are not very large and typically do not trap dirt and debris. If you are looking for something that is non-porous, you will want to look at our vulcanized tiles and mats. These don't have those small pores and would ensure that no dirt and debris gets trapped in the flooring.
What is the recommended way to install these mats to a basement concrete floor?
Avi
Depending on your application, there are a few ways you can install our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls. For most basement installations of our rubber flooring, simply rolling the rubber rolls out with no glue or tape is typically sufficient. This allows you to pick up the rolls in the instance there is a major flood. If for some reason the rubber rolls do move at all, you can put down some double-sided tape to keep them in place.
How is the flammability? I'm considering this product for a tall crawlspace that has mechanical equipment.
Werhat
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls have a Class III fire rating.
We want to use this product in a machine shop inspection room, and it could be subject to certain petroleum products dripping onto the surface. Will this material be affected?
Bob Hazen
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are held together by a binder that can be broken down by petroleum based products. Over time, these petroleum based products will break the binder down enough for the floor to start to break down and flake. This process is not an immediate one, but over time the floor would be ruined. In areas where there will be some petroleum products that will fall on the floor, we would suggest putting a plastic sheeting down if possible to protect the floor.
I want to use your flooring on carpet. Will it work? I want the ability to pull it up leaving the original carpet exposed if I move. Do you have to tape the rolls to keep the seams together?
scott
You can install our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls over low pile commercial carpet with ease. No tape would be needed for the seams. Our rubber rolls can be installed over high pile carpet, but there may be some separation of the rolls due to the carpet underneath getting depressed.
Can this material be installed directly onto a hard wood floor without damaging it or transferring rubber to the hard wood?
Anonymous
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be installed over most hardwood floors without damaging them. If there is concern that the rubber will damage the flooring, we recommend placing a plastic sheet between the rubber and the hardwood floor.
How would the mats handle chairs being used on this from time to time?
Anonymous
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls were made with heavy gym equipment being on them in mind. So, chairs ar totally fine on this floor.
We have read that there are strong odors from recycled rubber, what do you do to inhibit odors from your product?
Anonymous
There can be a slight odor to our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls. To help mitigate this odor, we recommend mopping the floor with a mild soap and water solution and letting the floor air dry. You may have to do this process a few times to fully remove the smell.
I bought one of your rubber pads to protect my flooring while doing kettlebell workouts. Now I find out that rubber can damage/discolor vinyl flooring. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening? Maybe a plastic sheet under the rubber mat?
Anonymous
We recommend when installing our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls or any rubber over vinyl flooring that you place a plastic sheet between the rubber and the vinyl. This will prevent and staining that could possibly occur.
I have a professionally installed epoxy floor with a clear coat in my garage and would like to use this rubber for a home gym floor in a portion of the garage. What's the best way to get the mats to stick/not slip around on the epoxy floor?
Brandon
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are pretty heavy and typically will not slip on their own. If they do, we recommend using double-sided tape or adhesive to keep them in place.
How long does the material take to off gas?
Anonymous
We don't have a specific timeframe as to when the rubber will finish off-gassing, but to help mitigate the smell of our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls, you will want to clean it with a mild soap and water solution and let it air dry in a well-ventilated space. You may need to repeat this process a few times to eliminate the smell.
I have two of the 3/8th inch mats placed over medium pile carpet and pad to create my home gym (rower, free weights). I have found that the mats are constantly moving apart forming a "crack" and bulging. I assume this is just the nature of being on a carpeted surface. So, I would like to attach the mats together to try to minimize this movement and creation of a crack...is there a product you recommend?
Anonymous
For this situation we would recommend using our Double-Sided Carpet Tape on your 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls. This will keep the rolls in place and also will keep them tight with each other.
I want to use this for the floor in my home gym which is approximately 15 feet by 20 feet. Do these rolls need to be glued to the floor? Can they just be placed on top? Direct over concrete? Do I have to glue them down? Do you recommend going right up to baseboard and using a quarter round molding to keep in position?
Brian
You do not have to glue our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls. You can loose lay them in most residential uses. If there is some movement, you can always put some double-sided tape under the rolls or our 5900 Series adhesive if necessary. We do recommend leaving a 1/4" gap between the flooring and the baseboard to account for any expansion or contraction that may occur. To help cover up this gapping, we recommend installing a quarter round around the perimeter to give your floor that finished look.
Can this flooring be used in an entire garage where a car (or two) will be parked?
You can install our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls as flooring in a garage. These rolls will not be damaged by a car being parked on them and will not be affected by the daily pulling in and out of a car. The only issue that you may notice is that if your car were to leak oil that the flooring over time may break down. To prevent this, we recommend placing one of our Nitro Rolls or Auto Floor Guard mats under the vehicle that is leaking oil.
Plan on using it as the floor for an indoor cycle studio, will the bikes rock or sink into the surface?
Eric Gerard Hentley
Cycles will not sink into our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls. These rubber rolls are very dense and will create a solid, comfortable flooring surface for indoor cycles. Our rubber flooring has been used in both commercial and residential gyms successfully and even in cycle studios all over the country.
Can this material be adequate to soundproof a floor? I am looking to buffer the sound of my treadmill. I live on the third floor and am concerned about the noise I am causing by the use of my treadmill.
Bryan
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can help reduce the amount of sound that is transmitted by your treadmill. It's not the best product for this, but definitely can be used for this function. To truly reduce noise transmission, we recommend using Shock Mat or Shock Tiles. Both of these products are designed to reduce the transmission of noise from floor to floor.
I'm turning my garage into an office/storage area and installing a floating floor for the office area. I was looking at this for the other half, but I do many home projects which can involve solvents, chemicals. Is there a sealer that can be used on top that won't affect the rolls? Also, these can't be used over a heating mat, right?
CBN Ent
You can seal our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls with our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer. This wax-based product, depending on use, will need to be reapplied a few times a year. Our rubber flooring can be installed over heating mats. The heat from the mat won't melt the flooring and won't cause the floor to bubble or buckle.
With 3/8" rubber rolled, how do I install around a floor drain?
Pete
You can easily cut our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls to fit around a floor drain with a straight edge and a utility knife. You can use a cut out to help you trace where you need to cut and then use your utility knife to cut a hole out of the rubber.
What type of glue do you recommend when gluing rubber to a cement finish in a commercial gym? Thanks
Shane
For our rubber rolls, we recommend using a polyurethane glue to adhere the flooring to any subsurface.
Could your rubber flooring be used for the floor of a shower cubilcle?
Carolee
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be used as flooring in a shower cubicle. You will want to seal the floor to keep and soap, salt, and dirt from getting trapped in the pores of the floor. Rubber when wet is more slip resistant so that this floor would be a perfect in this environment.
I'm planning on using the 3/8 for our basement. The basement is uneven concrete flooring as its a 1905 house. What do you recommend to keep the seems even and close?
Pete
For uneven concrete surfaces, we recommend leveling out the concrete to create an even surface. If that is not possible or is not needed, to keep your seams nice and tight, we recommend using our seam sealer.
I am putting a floor in for a gym which flooring would be best?
Anonymous
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are perfect for both home and commercial gyms. 3/8" thick rubber is the most common thickness found in gyms, especially commercial gyms. This thickness is very functional in all types of gym situations and if very easy to clean and maintain.
I am an owner of a Laser Tag arena and we were looking at using the 3/8" rubber rolls for some steep ramps that allow access to a second level of the arena . Would this product be recommended for use on the ramps?
Adam Dodds
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls would be great as walkway flooring. Rubber flooring is very slip resistant and is, even more, slip resistant when wet, which is perfect for a slope where sweat and other liquids may be present. These rolls are made for use in commercial gyms, so they will help to give you ample shock absorption if someone were to fall and will also protect your subfloor from any fall objects.
If you were to use this in a trailer, would you be able to ride snowmobiles, quads, dirt bikes, etc. over it?
Anonymous
You can drive snowmobiles, quads, dirt bikes, and any other vehicle over our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls without destroying the roll.
Could the 3/8" flooring be used in a commercial application where you would be rolling heavy carts?
Anonymous
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls were designed to be used in commercial gyms where heavy weights are dropped on the floor and heavy equipment placed. These rolls are more than durable enough to handle heavy rolling carts.
Is it easy to maneuver a wheelchair across it?
Daphne
You can easily maneuver a wheelchair across our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls.
The rubber roll matting; can it be lay under a carport that is concrete? There well not be any cars parking on the matting it for kids to play on.
Anonymous
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be installed in a carport over concrete.
Does the flooring have any black dust or residue that would track out to other areas and leave marks?
Anonymous
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls do no have any black dust that would come off the floor and leave marks in other areas. The black dust you see from lower quality rubber rolls is the roll itself. What happens is that the roll will start to break down and flake making the black dust you see. Our rubber rolls are made from high-quality rubber buffings bound together with the top of the line urethane ensuring that the roll does not break down and flake.
Are there any reasons / issues with laying 3/8 on top of ceramic tile floor?
JS
There would be no issues with installing our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls over ceramic tile.
Can this be used in hockey locker rooms where ice skates are being worn?
Frank Lee
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls have and can be used in a hockey locker room where skates will be worn.
We are looking for a durable, floor covering product for heavy foot traffic, at a ski area where people are walking in wet/ icy ski boots, that will not create a slip and fall hazard, can take the punishment from walking on it with ski boots and we can mop or squeegee off water, snowmelt chemical, and track-off. Would any of your materials be appropriate?
Pamela Dvoracek
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls have and can be installed in high traffic walkways where there will be water and heavy abuse from shoes, cleats, ice skates and the like. Rubber is very slip resistant and is more slip resistant when wet. Our rubber rolls are also very easy to clean and maintain and can be mopped, swept, vacuumed, and squeegeed. You will just want to use a mild soap and water solution when cleaning stuck on dirt and grime.
Could this product work as elevator flooring?
Anonymous
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be used as elevator flooring. Rubber is very slip resistant and more slip resistant when wet. It is also resistant to mold and mildew growth and very easy to clean and maintain.
I'm really worried about the smell. we're installing a home gym next to a bedroom. How long will it take for the strong rubber smell to dissipate? Is there anything beyond mopping to reduce the smell?
Curtis
The best way to mitigate the smell of the roll is to mop the floor with a mild soap and water solution and to let it air dry. You may have to do this a few times to get the smell to dissipate to a comfortable level. This has been shown to be the best way to get rid of the rubber smell.
Do rubber tiles and rolls have fall ratings?
Aaron Knapp
Most of our rubber rolls and tiles do not have fall height ratings, which includes our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls. The rubber products that do have fall height ratings are located on our Playground Flooring page.
Can these rolls be used outdoors over a concrete patio?
Anonymous
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be installed outdoors over a concrete patio or wood deck. These rolls are resistant to mold and mildew growth and are more slip-resistant when wet. The only issue you may run into is that the floor may fade in direct sunlight.
I have stairs leading out of the home gym. Can this be used on stairs and how would you finish the edges? Could it be used in the risers?
Steve
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be used on stairs. To finish the rolls, you can either butt the two pieces of rubber together to create a joint or you can use stair nosing to protect the rubber from the constant traffic.
Is this rubber flooring eco-friendly? Are there any cancer risks with it being installed indoors?
Health Guy
Our 3/8 Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are very eco-friendly as they are made from recycled truck tires. Every year, millions of tires are ground up and repurposed as flooring, underlayment, mulch, and much more. All of our rubber rolls are very safe and virtually latex free. The material used to make our flooring is thoroughly cleaned to ensure that any hazardous materials are not present in your floor. If you would like further testing results for our flooring, please feel free to reach out to one of our Flooring Heroes via chat, phone, or email and they would be more than happy to provide you with it.
Does this product have Any soundproofing quality? I'm considering using it to totally covering the floor of a Jeep Cherokee.
George

Could the 3/8" be used over compacted gravel for an outdoor basketball court?

Would this hold up on a snowmobile trailer with carbide runners and studs in the track? If so do you recommend glue it down or screw it down?
Jeff Fairbanks
You can install our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls in a snowmobile trailer with carbide runners and studs. These rolls are commonly used in baseball dugouts and ice skating rinks and can withstand the abuse. You don't have to glue or screw our rubber rolls down, but to keep them in place properly, we would recommend using our polyurethane adhesive to keep the rubber rolls in place. You can also screw them down if that is an easier option for you.
Does the rubber flooring expand in the heat? If so, what is the expansion rate and are there guidelines to accommodate such expansion? I have used the typical puzzle rubber flooring in the past, and the expansion would ruin the floor.
Tim Kinch
If you install our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls in a space that is not temperature controlled, you will want to make sure that you have ample room around the flooring for expansion and contraction. We recommend leaving at least a 3/8" gap between the flooring and wall. This will allow the flooring to expand and contract properly. There are no real parameters for when the flooring will expand and contract, but if there is a large temperature change during the day or night, the flooring will respond accordingly.
Is this flooring nonporous and easy to clean for a dog daycare? Also, want to make sure that black does not get onto dogs pads or fur.?
Karen Butterson
Our 3/8" Heavy Dury Rubber Rolls are semi-porous but are great as doggy daycare flooring. They are very easy to clean and will not get black on dogs paws or fur. To make these rolls non-porous, we recommend using our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer and our Seam Sealer to create a homogeneous floor. The sealer will fill in the pores, and the seam sealer will keep any urine or other liquids from seeping to the subfloor below.
Can this product be used in a commercial restaurant kitchen? Is there a customer review?
Nancy Powell
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be used in a commercial kitchen and have. Since flooring in commercial kitchens needs to be non-porous, we recommend using our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer on the flooring to make it non-porous. At the seams, you will want to use our Seam Sealer Glue. This will ensure that no liquids or oils get under the floor. Rubber flooring is great for kitchens because it is slip resistant even when wet and very easy to clean. Rubber flooring is also mold and mildew resistant which is important for any commercial kitchen.
Can a rubber floor sealer be applied to these tiles or is it not advised?
Pat
You can use our Floor Finish and Sealer on our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls. We recommend using it on anything with some color flec in it as it will help to keep the colors looking bright and fresh, but you can use it on black rubber as well. We typically recommend not using it on an all black rubber floor as the finish will dull out the black color, but people have done it and have liked the look that it gives. You would follow the instructions on the pail for placing the finish on our rubber flooring. Once applied, you will clean your floor with any mild soap and water solution. To remove the sealer, all you would need to do is apply our Rubber Floor Cleaner and Degreaser. Once removed, you can reapply a new coat(s) of the sealer.
How much drag would it create for heavy carts? We are looking for a noise dampening product to place in a hotel service corridor.
Chaz Dickerson
If you were to roll a heavy cart over our 3/8" Heavey Duty Rubber Rolls, there would be no drag to the cart. A heavy cart would roll better over our rubber flooring than over carpet.
Can this be used over vinyl plank flooring?
Karen
If you are installing our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls over an LVP, LVT, WPC, or SPC, you will not have to worry about the rubber staining your vinyl flooring. The wear layer on the flooring protects the vinyl from interacting with our rubber flooring. If you have a vinyl floor that does not have a wear layer, you will have to worry about the vinyl being stained by the rubber flooring.
Do you make rubber driveway rubber rolls?
perry smith
You can install our Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls in a driveway. These rolls are very durable and would be able to withstand the constant back and forth of car traffic. The only thing that will affect these rolls is oil from your car. If your car were to leak oil, over time, the binder that holds the rubber together starts to break down.
does your product have a smell? does it require ventilation after being installed?
Andy
There can be a slight odor to our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls. To help mitigate this odor, we recommend mopping the floor with a mild soap and water solution and letting the floor air dry. You may have to do this process a few times to fully remove the smell.
If in a 12" wading pool, will it stay on bottom or float to the top?
Al Warden
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are pretty heavy and would stay on the bottom of the pool, but we would recommend gluing the rubber to the bottom of the pool to ensure it doesn't move when walked or played on.
Can you install this flooring over an epoxy floor?
Mike
You can install our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls over an epoxy floor.
Is this material appropriate for behind a bar?
Robin Simms
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be used behind a bar. Our rubber flooring is very slip-resistant and is more slip-resistant when wet. Behind a bar, we would recommend sealing our flooring with our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer. This is done to ensure that no food or liquids get caught in the floor. After you seal the floor, you would just simply sweep any large dirt and debris with a broom and then mop the floor with a mild soap and water solution.
How durable is your product outside?
Robert
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are very durable outdoors. These rolls are made from the treads of commercial truck tires, so they would behave the same way as your car tires do in the elements. Rubber flooring is naturally mold and mildew resistant and is also very slip-resistant even when wet. The only thing you will notice is that in direct sunlight, these rolls will fade over time.
Can the 3/8" rubber flooring be installed over laminate without damaging the laminate?
Carol Weil
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be installed over laminate flooring without damaging it. Our rubber flooring can be installed as a floating floor over any solid, flat subfloor or existing floor.
Can this product be fused together at the seams? And if so, is it waterproof?
Mitchell
You can seam to 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls together with our seam sealer glue. Our rubber flooring is not waterproof, but it is water-resistant. To make these floors more water-resistant, you can apply our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer, which will fill in the small pores that are found in our rubber flooring. This, in conjunction with the seam sealer, will help to create a floor that is as close to waterproof as they come.
Can this product be installed under Pergo waterproof laminate floor?
Jackie Rajabi
You can install our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls under any type of flooring surface including a Pergo waterproof laminate floor.
I am building a home gym - 18 X 36. It will be a 2nd-floor gym with proper support and subflooring. I’ve been told that recycled rubber smells like rubber, but virgin rubber does not. Do you sell virgin rubber flooring? What size rolls would you recommend?
Bill Nicholson
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls do have a rubber smell to them. If a person is sensitive to the smell, we recommend mopping the floor with a mild soap and water solution. We also recommend that when installing our rubber flooring, that you install it in a well-ventilated space. We do offer virgin rubber products, but currently, you can only get virgin rubber products in tile form. If you are looking to get a virgin rubber tile, we recommend going to our rubber flooring page and click on the filter that says virgin rubber. Our virgin rubber tiles come in various sizes and colors, ensuring we will have the perfect floor for your install.
I see in the description that the "recommended uses" include "over radiant heated flooring systems." We have hydronic radiant heat, and I'm trying to understand the effect this 3/8" rubber flooring would have. Could you tell me the R-value of this flooring? Will it expand and contract with heating or give off-odor? For installing it, double-sided tape will not stick to our floor. What is the best way to keep the seems together? Thanks!
Kristina
The typical R-Value for our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls and our rubber flooring, in general, is 1.100. Radiant heating systems are typically installed under porous floors to keep them warm in cold weather. Since our rubber flooring is insulating, you will not get the full effect of the radiant heating system. These rubber rolls will not expand and contract very much when installed over the system. There will be some expansion and contraction, but it will not be significant. To keep the seams together, we recommend using our Seam Sealer glue. This glue will keep the rolls together.
Do they have a textured side for grip?
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls do not have a textured side for added grip. Rubber flooring is very slip-resistant on its own, so there is no need for it to have a grippy side. The weight of the roll keeps it from moving. If for some reason a roll were to move, we recommend placing some double-sided tape under the roll or glue.
Will, a Bulldog Scrubber (WD20 model) damage rubber, rolled flooring?
matt
You can use a Bulldog Scrubber on our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls and any of our other rubber flooring.
Does your rubber gym floor have latex in it?
Morgan
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are made with treads of recycled truck tires. Since the recipe to make tires is held pretty tightly by the tire manufacturers, there is potential for there to be a very small amount of latex in our rubber flooring. During the vulcanization process and also in the grinding the revulcanization process, latex does break down quite considerably. However, there is still potential for there to be a minimal amount still present. If you do have a latex allergy, we recommend ordering a sample of our flooring and to test it on your skin to see if you react.
I'm installing flooring for a room specifically designed for HIIT (with plyo exercises). Is the heavy duty rubber flooring safe for plyo?
misty
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be used and have been used as flooring for HIIT workouts and plyo exercises. This rubber roll isn't the best flooring for it, but it can be used. We do have a whole line of flooring that is more geared towards this type of exercise. You can find this flooring on our High Impact Flooring page.
How much overage is recommended?
Gustavo Fring
With our rubber flooring products, we recommend at least 5% of overage.
How would this material work for a stage top?
Tiffanie Sapp
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be a great flooring option for a stage depending on how the stage will be used. If this is for concerts where a person will essentially be standing, and instruments are being played, our rubber flooring would perform well. Since our rubber flooring is slip-resistant, if there were any spills, the performer(s) would be safe in regards to slip hazards as rubber flooring is more slip-resistant when wet. If the stage is being used for performances where dancing or lots of movement is involved, then our rubber flooring may not be the best solution. We do have a wide range of vinyl dance roll products that would work excellently for this. You can find all of our Marley flooring options on our Dance Flooring page.
What is the recommended way to install the 3/8" flooring over a basement concrete floor with a drain and still be able to access the drain and have the drain be operational?
Pete
If you have a drain in the middle of your basement floor, we recommend cutting our rubber flooring with a sharp utility knife to create an opening where the drain lies.
Can you use this in the bathroom on the floor?
cynthia a leepier
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be used as a bathroom floor. These rubber rolls are very slip resistant and are more slip-resistant when wet. Rubber is naturally mold and mildew resistant and is very easy to clean. To ensure that these rubber floors are super easy to clean and maintain, we do recommend sealing the flooring with our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer. This will ensure that no solids get in the small pores in the rubber.
We use half of our basement as a gym. Our basement has nice plush carpet. Will placing your 3/8 inch rubber flooring damage our carpet over time. (Our hopes is that it’ll protect it).
Jermaine Allen
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls will not damage carpet. If you do have a light-colored carpet, we do recommend placing a plastic sheet between the rubber and carpet, as some staining could occur. When installing our rubber flooring over plush carpet, we do recommend placing a 1/4" plywood board over the carpet. This will help to prevent separation of the rolls due to the carpet pad depressing when walked over.
Would you be able to install a "carpet" pad underneath this to add additional padding?
Charla Banks
Technically you can place a carpet pad under our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls, but we don't recommend it. The issue is that when the carpet pad depresses, it can create a tripping hazard between the multiple rolls. To add more cushion to your flooring, we would recommend using one of our rubber underlays. These will provide ample cushion underfoot and are more solid, meaning no tripping hazard.
What is the difference between the 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls and the 3/8" Pre-Cut Regrind Rolls?
William
So overall, both products are essentially the same; The same thickness and same material, but there are differences between the two. So the regrind rolls are all made from all the scrap material that we get from making our standard rubber products like our Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls. The confetti version of our regrind rolls has the same density as our standard rubber flooring and can be used in all the same places. The black version of this product is less dense and is great high impact workouts and plyometrics. The only other difference between the two are the color offerings.
Can the 3/8" Heavy Duty rubber flooring be installed on top of a 4" thick gravel base? If so, how?
Doug Sharp
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be installed over a 4" thick compacted gravel base. All you would need to do is lay the rubber flooring over the base and you would be good to go.
What kind of sealer do you recommend? And are there sealers in paint-like colors?
Jr
If you would like to seal your rubber flooring, we recommend using our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer. We don't have any sealers that are in any colors.
Could this be used outdoors on a rooftop deck of an apartment building for people to lie on? (for example for sunbathing)
omar
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls and all of our rubber flooring can get hot if installed in an area that gets a lot of sun. Our rubber flooring will not get as hot as concrete but will get hot. We wouldn't recommend anyone laying directly on the rubber flooring, but you could place mats or chairs on top of the rubber flooring outdoors. Rubber flooring is resistant to the elements and is very slip-resistant, and more so when wet.
Can I put it over a brick floor?
Johnson Kelly
You can install our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls over any hard, flat surface and pretty much any existing floor, so you can install our rubber rolls over an existing brick floor.
Can this product be installed outdoors on a ramp?
Jeanne
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be used as flooring on a ramp outdoors. Our rubber flooring is very slip-resistant, and more so when wet. It is also very easy to clean and maintain and is able to withstand the elements. The only thing you will notice is that the flooring will fade if left in direct sunlight.
What is the best way to clean the black mat? Is there any treatment to keep it new looking?
Guy Biggs
To keep your 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls looking like new, we recommend using our Rubber Flooring Cleaner and Degreaser. Adding mats to the entrance to where your flooring will also help keep dust and dirt from getting on the rolls as well. For any large dirt and debris, you will want to make sure you sweep or vacuum it up and then mop with our Rubber Flooring Cleaner and Degreaser regularly.
Can the ⅜" Heavy Duty Rubber Roll flooring be used to drop a barbell with bumper plates? 200 pounds overhead (jerks, etc.) and 400 pounds from the hip (deadlifts).
Rob Schlegel
You can drop a barbell with bumper plats on our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls without damaging the subfloor. This thickness is the most common thickness used in commercial gyms.
If used in a covered kennel, would the mat get hot to dogs feet? Also does it hold urine smell?
Nicole Flory
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls won't get that hot if covered and not in direct sunlight. They will actually be cooler than concrete. These rubber rolls are semi-porous and are very easy to clean. To make these rolls non-porous, we recommend using our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer and our Seam Sealer to create a homogeneous floor. The sealer will fill in the pores, and the seam sealer will keep any urine or other liquids from seeping to the subfloor below. If you don't seal the floor, a dog could urinate on the floor, and the urine would not immediately get in the pores. So if you clean up the urine pretty quickly, you can help to mitigate any issues with urine smells. If urine does get in the floor, we recommend cleaning the floor with our Rubber Floor Cleaner and Degreaser and flushing the floor with a lot of water. This will help to keep the urine smell down.
We ordered the 3/8" product to be installed in a yoga room that is approximately 44' x 22', and there are several seams to be treated in the space. I see previously it was recommended to use the seam glue for these. Is this different from the glue used to adhere to the substrate floor? Can the seams be welded instead?
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can't be heat welded. If you want to seal the seams, we recommend using our Seam Sealer glue. Our Seam Sealer glue is the same type of glue that we used to glue our rubber flooring in place, polyurethane, but in a smaller format and is colored black. Our Premium Seam Sealer glue uses the same glue as our EZ Polyurethane glue. So if you wanted to use the same glue throughout your whole install, we would recommend using our EZ Polyurethane and our Premium Sealer glues.
Can these rubber rolls be used over vinyl flooring for a gym area, or will it chemically react &/or stain?
You can install our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls over a luxury vinyl floor. The reason that you can install it over a luxury vinyl floor, waterproof, or rigid core floor is due to these products having a wear layer that protects the actual vinyl. If you were to install this over a standard vinyl floor, we would recommend placing a plastic sheet between the vinyl and rubber. This will help to prevent any reaction from happening between the rubber and vinyl.
We use a citrus-based cleaner for our gym equipment. Will this damage the flooring or break it down? It is not petroleum-based.
Mark D Roberts
A citrus-based cleaner will not damage or breakdown our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls or any of our other rubber products.
I am planning to installed it on my back cement patio which gets lots of direct sunlight.
ahsan
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are very durable outdoors. These rolls are made from the treads of commercial truck tires, so they would behave the same way as your car tires do in the elements. Rubber flooring is naturally mold and mildew resistant and is also very slip-resistant even when wet. The only thing you will notice is that in direct sunlight, these rolls will fade over time.
Is the 3/8 inch heavy duty rubber flooring appropriate for an indoor dog run that gets a lot of sun?
Linda
Yes this would be a suitable application. Be aware that direct sunlight may cause the rolls to fade slightly over time.
Are these mats easy on knees? Tough but soft? Setting up a gym at home. Are they hard enough to set gym equipment on and soft enough to run a cardio workout session without killing joints and knees?
Ratana Chhorn
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are not the easiest flooring on the knees. If you want something that will be easy on the joints and durable enough for fitness equipment, we would recommend using our Impact Rubber Rolls or our black Regrind Rolls. These floors are less dense than our mainline rubber rolls like the 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls.
Can I order rolls in custom 24 ft. lengths?
Steve Hubbard
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be ordered in any whole foot increment above 15 linear feet. So, yes, you can order custom cut rolls in 24 linear feet.
Are both sides of 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls exactly the same, or is there a good side that should always be up?
David White
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls do have a top and a bottom and are directional. There is a grain to the rubber, so when rolls are not facing in the same direction, they will look different. Some of our rubber rolls may have writing on the bottom, which will indicate that that is the bottom, but most don't. When you receive your rolls, when you roll them out from their rolled-up position, the rolls will roll out top side up.
We want to purchase flooring for an irregularly shaped room with a sealed cement floor. We want the flooring to cover an approximately 8 x 12-foot area (it would not go all the way to the wall). If the mat is rolled out over the floor, will it slip with activities like plyometrics? Also, is this material safe for babies/young children to sit/play on? Thank you!!
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are pretty heavy, so it is pretty tough to move them, but there are certain exercises that could move them. Most Plyometric exercises won't cause the flooring to move. If, for some reason, the rubber rolls did move, we would recommend placing some double-sided tape under the rolls to keep them in place. Our rubber flooring is safe for children and babies to sit or play on. Our rubber flooring is tested constantly to ensure that it is safe for children of all ages. If you like a copy of the testing that is performed on our rubber flooring, we recommend contacting one of our Flooring Heroes via email, chat, or phone.
Do you have 5' rolls? I need to cover an area 10' x 13'6" and would prefer not to have seams?
Lars
Currently, our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls come 4' wide, as well as our other standard rubber roll products.
Will the double-sided tape ruin hardwood flooring? Do I definitely need adhesive over hardwood? Thanks!
MLM
When installing our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls, double-sided tape or glue is typically not needed for most residential gyms. If you have to use double-sided tape, there may be some residue left behind if you were to remove the tape. This can be removed with some Goo-Gone.
Can the 3/8 rubber flooring be placed directly on luxury vinyl plank flooring (floating lock in planks)? Or does the flooring need to be removed and the rubber placed directly on the concrete?
Brandon
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be installed over most floors without damaging them. If there is concern that the rubber will damage the flooring, we recommend placing a plastic sheet between the rubber and the floor.
want to cover carpet with a hard surface to enable my mobility equipment (EZ stand patient lift with castor wheels) to roll easily. Is this appropriate?
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty rubber Rolls can be placed over 1/4" thick commercial carpet. Under our rubber flooring, we recommend that the surface underneath be flat and solid. The only surfaces we don't recommend placing rubber flooring over are vinyl and plush carpets.
Is this rubber roll oil resistant?
Colin Fiander
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls and all of our recycled rubber products are not oil resistant. Engine oil and even cooking oil can, over time, break down the binder in the flooring, causing it to disintegrate over time. If oil will be present in the area where these rubber rolls will be installed, we recommend sealing the flooring or placing mats where the oil may interact with the floor.
Has anyone tried to use car jacks with this flooring?
DS
With success, we have had customers use car jacks on our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls. Depending on how long there is weight on the car jack, there is potential for an imprint of the jack to show permanently.
We are looking into installing this flooring in our dog boarding facility. We will be using a floor scrubber with a cleaning solution called ProVet. Will this way of cleaning maintain the floor?
Anthony R Hilliard
We recommend testing any cleaners on a small indiscriminate area of the floor before using it across the whole floor. As long as the cleaner has no oils, it can be used on our rubber flooring without causing damage.
Can you slide weighted sled on this flooring?
Karen
You can slide a weighted sled on our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls and all of our rubber rolls. The skis either need to be plastic or have some felt or carpet under them to ensure the sled slides.
Will this flooring retain moisture? Looking for use in the food industry in washdown areas.
Kevin Embly
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls won't retain any moisture. If using these in a washdown area, we would recommend using our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer to help keep water from getting under the rolls. We would also suggest in conjunction to using our Seam Sealer glue. This will help create a water-tight floor.
Will these floors absorb any fluid? I was thinking about using these in a dog room. Will they absorb urine, or will it stay on top?
Jeff G
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls and any of our rubber flooring will not absorb any liquid. Liquids that fall on the surface will stay primarily on the surface until the liquid drys out. The main issue that you will run into is that there are little pores in the floor that will be able to harbor some liquid, and as the liquid drys, the salts from that liquid are left behind. With urine, this can help encourage bacterial growth, which will cause a real smelly situation. We recommend sealing our rubber flooring with our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer to prevent this. This will fill in the small pores in the floor. We also recommend using our Seam Sealer glue along the seams to prevent liquids from getting between and under the rolls.
Would this work for outdoor use around the perimeter of an in-ground trampoline?
Nicole Probst
You can use our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls around an in-ground trampoline. If you are looking to protect your kids while at play, we recommend installing one of our playground rubber tiles. These will help to prevent serious injury while at play.
Can this be used outside as a landscaping weed barrier surface next to a pool?
Kendra
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be used as a weed barrier surface next to a pool. Since these rubber rolls are primarily black, they will get hot in direct sunlight. We recommend spraying water on the rolls as needed in the hottest parts of the day. Since rubber is very slip-resistant, and more so when wet, kids of all ages can play as hard as they want to.
Can I install over grass for a playground area?
Shawnte
Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can technically be installed over grass, but we don't recommend it. When installing our rubber rolls, we recommend installing them over any hard flat surface such as concrete, asphalt, or compacted crushed granite. This will ensure that the rolls don't create a trip hazard between rolls. This will also ensure that the flooring will stay stable during heavy rain events. Our rubber flooring can be used in a playground area, but we don't recommend using it under playground equipment. Since kids can fall, you will want a floor that will help to protect them when they do. We offer a wide range of playground tiles and mulch that would be perfect under playground equipment. You can find these products on our Playground Flooring page.
I would like to install the 3/8" rubber flooring in my small woodworking shop. The cement floor isn't perfectly smooth, with minor bumps throughout. I hope I can install the rubber flooring without putting down a leveling layer. Will the flooring settle over a cement floor that isn't perfectly smooth?
Yes, you can install our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls over a subfloor that is not perfectly smooth. Our rubber rolls are forgiving to imperfect subfloors. If you are concerned the flooring would get damaged over the imperfect subfloor, we recommend placing some 1/4" plywood over the subfloor. This will create a flat rigid surface for the flooring to be installed over.
Are the rolls cut to the exact size? So a 25’ roll will be 25’ not 24’ 3/4”?
Keith
Rolls are cut with a bit of extra material to allow for contraction. If you order a 25' roll you will receive a minimum 25' roll. (you may gain a few inches but we will not ship short).
I want to install rubber roll for exercising in my Garage. Is there a particularly type on which I can park my suv/car also, when I need to?
Nav
You can park a car on our 3/8" and 1/2" rubber rolls, but if your car leaks oil, the roll will start to break down over time. Most other vehicle chemicals will not affect the flooring in this manner.
Which is better for Dog agility course? 3/8" or 1/2"
Lindy Roberts
It depends on the specific needs and conditions of the dog course. In general, a thicker rubber roll (such as the 1/2" Mega Rubber Roll) would provide more cushioning and durability, which may be beneficial for dogs with joint issues or for courses that see heavy use. However, a thinner rubber roll (such as the 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Roll) would be lighter and easier to transport and install, which may be more convenient for some uses. Ultimately, the best option would depend on the specific needs and requirements of the course and the dogs using it.
I am proposing to install this 3/8 roll over radiant heat tubing. The tubing is inserted in 3/4" grooved plywood and I did not plan to cover it. When the tubing is inserted into the plywood it is flush with the top. Can this flooring be rolled directly over the recessed tubing or do I need a completely flush surface in which case I would need to install a thin sheet of lauan or 1/4 plywood. I can send a picture of the subfloor if that is helpful to facilitate a positive installation. Mike h.
Michael Hafner
It's generally recommended to have a completely flush surface before installing it to ensure a smooth and even surface. If the tubing is recessed, it could cause an uneven surface and result in damage to the flooring when it is rolled over the tubing. Using a thin sheet of lauan or 1/4 inch plywood can help create a smooth and even surface. This will also provide a stable base for the flooring and help protect the tubing from being damaged by the weight of the flooring material.

Randy Hughes from Plano, TX wrote...
I ordered 5 rolls that were 4' x 15'. Order shipped on Tuesday and arrived on Thursday via FedX. Each roll was individually wrapped...the entire pallet was covered in clear plastic...strapped down well...and in perfect condition. I replaced the 16-year-old commercial grade carpet in my 19' x 14' workout room on the first floor of my home (concrete slab floor). I moved the rubber rolls one at a time into the workout room using a dolly with no problem. I purchased 2 each 1/8″ thick 2' x 4' hardboard sheets and had Home Depot cut them in half so I ended up with 4 each 1' x 4' hardboard strips. I used a 48″ heavy duty T-square and a Grey fine point Sharpie to mark the rubber. I measured twice (sometimes more)...and marked the rubber using the Grey Sharpie. I placed the hardboard strips underneath the rubber where the cut would be so that when the knife blade went through the rubber it would then be cutting against the hardboard...NOT the concrete. I used the T-square as a guide and placed a small foam knee pad on top of it while I kneeled on it (this helps hold the T-square in place). There is a sticker on one side of the roll which says ″This Side Down″. I cut the very end off of each roll to ensure it was perfectly square. I used a Dewalt utility knife which provides a good grip and excellent pressure angle. It takes 3 or 4 cut passes to get all the way through the rubber. The 3/8″ rubber fit perfectly under the baseboard all around the room allowing me to tuck 1/2″ of rubber under it on all 4 walls. Note: make sure you measure each section from wall to wall where each roll will go. There can be up to 1″ variance even though the wall ″looks″ straight. Measure twice...mark and cut once. The actual installation of the flooring took me 4 hours. The product is easy to install...but it is high-quality, ″heavy″ duty stuff. I installed the rubber flooring by myself without any help...but I am a large and strong man with a lot of construction/moving experience. If you are not a very large/strong person and you have fairly long runs...you will probably need some help moving and positioning the product. I could not be more pleased with how the installation went. It lays and fits perfectly and looks fantastic! Great product, price & customer service!! Images sent in by happy customer
