*Please see link to manufacturer's installation document below.

Installation Note: Heat Welding

1. Groove seams in sheet flooring to 2/3 depth of vinyl, and heat weld with manufacturer’s welding rod. All seams must be heat welded.

2. Complete first pass skive. Mozart skiving knife is recommended.

3. Let weld cool for 10 - 20 minutes and then complete final skive.

When installing rolled rubber flooring, it is important to secure the rolls in place to prevent them from moving around or sliding apart between adjacent rolls. There are two common methods for adhering rubber rolls to the subfloor: double-sided tape installation and glue installation.

Double-Sided Tape Installation
  1. Begin by cleaning the subfloor to remove all dust, dirt, and debris.
  2. Lay out the rolls in the desired configuration and allow them to relax for 24-48 hours to ensure proper installation.
  3. Note that rolls may be directional, so make sure the colors match on each roll. If the roll colors do not match, flip or turn them 180 degrees to ensure a color match.
  4. Make any necessary cuts to fit the rolls into the room, leaving a gap around the rolls roughly the thickness of the rolls being used to account for expansion and contraction.
  5. Apply double-sided tape to the perimeter of each roll.
  6. Place the rubber rolls back into position on top of the double-sided tape.
Glue Installation
  1. Clean the subfloor to remove all dirt, dust, and debris. Ensure that the subfloor is dry before gluing the flooring down.
  5. Roll up one end of the rolls and apply a 10-foot long, light layer of polyurethane adhesive to the subfloor. Unroll 10 feet of the flooring into the adhesive at a time.
  6. Repeat the previous step for every 10 feet of roll length until the entire roll has been unrolled into its desired position.
  7. After all rolls have been glued down, use a 100-pound roller on the floor to ensure good adherence to the subfloor. If a roller is not available, walking on the flooring in small, choppy steps may also work.

Regular Maintenance
  • Vacuum or dust the floor daily or weekly to remove dirt, dust, and grit.
  • Use felt pads under furniture and chair legs to prevent scratching the surface.
  • Place doormats at all entrances to prevent tracked in dirt, moisture, and debris.
  • Avoid using rubber-backed mats as they can stain the flooring surface over time.

Cleaning Tips
  • Use a damp mop when mopping the floor. Never use a wet mop, as excess water can damage the surface.
  • Clean up spills immediately to prevent staining or damage to the floor.
  • Use a pH-neutral cleaner recommended by the manufacturer. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, bleach, or ammonia-based cleaners.
  • Do not wax or polish the floor, as it can damage the surface and make it slippery.

Preventive Maintenance
  • Avoid dragging heavy furniture or appliances across the floor, as it can scratch or damage the surface.
  • Use blinds or curtains to prevent prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which can cause fading and discoloration of the floor.
  • Trim pet nails regularly to prevent scratches on the floor.
  • Do not use steam cleaners or hot water to clean the floor, as it can damage the surface.

By following these maintenance tips, you can keep your vinyl floor looking clean and new for years to come.

The only thing you may notice, depending on how heavy the object is that is placed on the flooring, are indentations where the furniture has sat. If it is only placed on the flooring for a short period of time, then the indentations may go away. If it is there for a long period of time, then they may be there permanently. To prevent indentations, we recommend using furniture sliders under the legs of the furniture or equipment.
