Why rubber freight needs a plan
Rubber rolls are among the heaviest products we ship. Freight on a heavy product depends on two things: weight and distance. You cannot change the weight of rubber, but you can change how far it travels. On a multi-pallet commercial order, freight is a real line item.
Estimate the weight
| Product | Weight stated on our site |
|---|---|
| 1/4″ Rubber Gym Rolls | About 1.6 lb per sq ft |
| 1/2″ Rubber Gym Rolls | About 3 lb per sq ft |
| 3/4″ Rubber Gym Rolls | About 4 lb per sq ft |
| 3/8″ roll, 4′ x 10′ | About 100 lb |
| 1/2″ Pre-Cut Mega roll, 4′ x 25′ | 300 lb |
| 1/2″ Pre-Cut Mega roll, 4′ x 50′ | 600 lb |
To estimate the total, multiply the square feet of each thickness by its weight per square foot. Then add the results.
Ship from the closest warehouse
We stock rubber rolls at six warehouses in four U.S. regions: West, Midwest, Northeast and South. Your rolls ship from the stocking location closest to your address. On our custom-cut roll pages, Shipping Saver shows which colors are stocked closest to your ZIP.
- ZIP first: enter the job-site ZIP before you choose a color.
- Green box: when two colors both work, choose the color in the green Closest Facility box.
- Amber box: these colors are available too, but they travel farther and take longer.
- Samples: order samples before a pallet order, so you do not pay freight twice to fix a color.
Send the job-site ZIP and the square feet for each thickness. We can quote the rubber and the freight.
Parcel or LTL freight
A single roll usually ships by parcel or light freight. Multi-roll and pallet orders ship LTL freight, with a live quote from the closest stocking location. LTL delivery is a curbside drop. If you do not have a forklift or a loading dock, choose lift-gate delivery at checkout.
On delivery day
- Book: call the carrier when you get the tracking notice, and book a delivery window.
- Help: delivery is to the curb. Have people on site to move the rolls inside.
- Count: make sure the number of items matches your receipt.
- Record: write any damage or shortage on the proof of delivery before you sign it. Take photos.
