Matching Brand Colors Across Multiple Locations

Your floor can carry your brand into every club. Learn how rubber color works, what makes it shift, and how to keep one palette from site to site.

Key takeaways

  • Use brand colors on the floor, not only on walls and equipment
  • Order all rolls for one space at the same time for the best color match
  • Check each site ZIP in Shipping Saver before you fix the palette
  • Use custom-cut rolls for colors outside the Quick Ship palette

The floor as a brand surface

Every solid surface in a gym is a chance to show your brand. Our fitness-center design guide suggests brand colors on the machines, the counters, the locker rooms and the floors. It even suggests a logo on the floor. A chain can use the same floor colors to make every club feel like one brand.

How rubber color works

You can choose a classic black floor or a floor with color flecks. Most rubber rolls have a black base with about 10% EPDM color flecks. EPDM is a synthetic rubber that can take almost any color. The flecks also hide dust, chalk and footprints between cleanings.

For a bolder look, our Rubber Rolls Buying Guide points to the 15mm Impact Rolls - Designer Series. It lists fleck colors such as red, green, yellow and blue to match a brand identity.

Why color can shift

  • Separate orders: color can vary between separate orders. Order all rolls for one space at the same time.
  • Recycled blends: Confetti and Natural colors use post-industrial recycled rubber, so some shade variation is normal.
  • Roll direction: rolls can be directional. If two rolls do not match, flip one or turn it 180 degrees.
  • Sunlight: most rolls are not UV-stable. Constant direct sunlight fades the color over time.
Rolling out a brand floor to several clubs?

Send us your brand colors and the site ZIPs. We can match the palette to what each region stocks.

One palette from site to site

Color stock is not the same in every region. The West stocks the widest selection, and the Southeast stocks a narrower one. A color in the green box at one site can be in the amber box at another site. You can still order it, but it travels farther.

Quick Ship Pre-Cut rolls use a short palette. The 8mm rolls come in Black, 10% Gray and 10% Baby Blue. The 1/4″, 3/8″ and 1/2″ rolls come in Black, 10% Blue, 10% Gray and 10% Blue/Gray. These colors make up about 40% of the rubber roll orders we shipped in the past three years. For other colors, or to match an existing floor, use custom-cut rolls.

  • Check each ZIP: enter each site ZIP in Shipping Saver before you fix the brand palette.
  • See it on site: order samples and look at them in the light of each room. Samples ship by mail in about 3 to 5 business days.
