Description - Textured virgin rubber tiles offer a durable commercial grade reversible gym floor tile constructed of odorless virgin rubber. The wide traditional jig saw interlocks and reversible quality of these tiles allows for customers to quickly repair tiles in place with no down time if a tile ever gets damaged. These tiles are latex free, resistant to bacterial growth, and easy to install and clean. In addition, the textured surface pattern of the tiles also helps to provide an upscale look that is slip resistant. Textured rubber tiles also offer a great solution for a sound dampening flooring and are backed by a lifetime limited warranty.
Material – Textured rubber tiles are constructed from 100% virgin SBR rubber (a synthetic rubber compound that includes no latex or recycled rubber). The color in these tiles is solid throughout. What this means is that unlike some cheap recycled rubber tile options available out there which are painted with a urethane veneer overcoat to have a solid color, Textured tiles do not have a thin surface layer of color that will wear out.
Size – Tiles are 2’ x 2’
Thickness – 3/8 Inch (9.5 mm)
Weight – Each center tile weighs approximately 12 lbs.
Origin – Made in the USA.
Recommended Uses – Textured virgin rubber tiles have been used in commercial gym and fitness facilities, in high school weight rooms, in personal exercise studios and basement home gyms, and in a multitude of other locations. These floor tiles can be used in just about any location where a floor covering is needed that is slip resistant, shock absorbent, bright in color, and extremely durable.

Textured virgin rubber floor tiles are easy to clean. Maintenance of these interlocking rubber floor mats typically includes:
  • Vacuuming any loose crumbs, dust, or debris from the rubber floor covering when necessary.
  • Occasional damp mopping of the floor tile surface with a mild soap and water solution. A few recommended soaps are Dawn dish detergent or Tide laundry detergent.
Note: We recommend that all of our virgin rubber tiles are damp mopped immediately following installation to remove any residual waxiness on the tile that may still be present from manufacturing residue.

Optional: Virgin rubber floor tiles may be sealed with a common flooring sealer to help provide a high gloss finish and to further protect your interlocking tile floor surface from wear.

Installation of interlocking tiles is very simple and typically done by the consumer. Typical installation of these tiles is as follows:
  • First, clean your sub floor so it is free of all dirt, grease or debris.
  • Snap a chalk line on the sub floor 24” from one wall in your room. Snap another chalk line on the subfloor 24” from an adjacent wall. You should now have a pair of perpendicular lines making an approximate 90-degree angle.
  • Begin laying the interlocking tiles along the chalk lines, snapping the locks together as you go.
  • Leave the perimeter of the room open until the field is installed.
  • After the field is covered, go back and cut in lines along the walls in the room. Leaving a gap at the wall roughly the thickness of tiles being used is recommended to account for expansion and contraction of the floor tiles in varied temperature ranges.
Note: When piecing interlocking tiles together, adhesives are usually not used since the weight of the locked together product is usually enough to keep the floor tiles from moving. However, if you do experience movement and would like to ensure that the tiles do not slide at all, some double-sided tape or mat tape can be used around the perimeter of the installation to prevent any movement.

We are wanting to put these in a home gym that currently has Berber carpet. Can we install these over the Berber? Thanks!
cindy walden
Our 3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles can be installed over the Berber carpet.
Does the "3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles " come with edge pieces? The web page does not show any if it does.
Tom
Our 3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles do not come with any edge pieces. To create a finished edge on these tiles you can cut them or you can use our Rubber Floor Ramps.
One of the reviews mentions a wax on the tile that has to be removed? What is that in reference too?
Helene Buchin
There is a film that can be found on our 3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles that occurs from the manufacturing process. This film can be easily removed with our Rubber Floor Cleaner and Degreaser.
Does the rubber have a very strong odor?
Helene Buchin
Our 3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles are virtually odorless because they are made from virgin rubber. The smell that emanates from these tiles is similar to a new shoe.
Can virgin rubber tiles be installed on top of a wood porch?
jerome johnson
Our 3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles can be installed on top of a wood porch. These tiles are non-porous and will not allow water to pass through them. Water would be able to flow through the cracks around the interlocks if they are not interlocked tightly. Since these tiles are made from rubber, they are weather-resistant and mold and mildew resistant. The only issue you made run into with these tiles is that they fade in direct sunlight due to them not being UV stable.
I need an interlocking tile for pool surfaces. I prefer NOT to have concrete or stone pavers but a rubber paver would be OK. I am basically looking to resurface my concrete pool and patio with another surface I can clean each year or periodically replace. I know mold and mildew will have to be dealt with since I am in Tennessee with 65 inches of rain per year.
Dale Reynolds
Our 3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles wouldn't be the best flooring option for this area as the flooring is not porous and would allow water to pool on its surface. If you want to use rubber flooring, we would suggest using one of our Outdoor Rubber Pavers. These rubber pavers are made for outdoor use and are semi-porous allowing water to properly drain from the flooring surface. Rubber is great as a flooring option around pools as it is very slip resistant and more slip-resistant when wet. You won't have to worry about mold and mildew growth as these tiles are resistant. These paver tiles are also very easy to clean and maintain and can be replaced as need be. The only thing you may notice with some of our outdoor pavers is that they are UV resistant and can change color in direct sunlight over time. If you want to avoid this issue, just look for products that are UV stable.
Do these mats contain phthalates and/or heavy metals?
Jim
Our 3/8" Textured Virgin Rubber Tiles are very safe and do not contain any phthalates or heavy metals. If you would like a copy of the MSDS for this product, please feel free to reach out to one of our Flooring Heroes via phone, chat, or email and they will be able to assist further.

Tiles require wax removal on delivery

Self-installed in home gym

I was surprised that the parting wax used in the manufacture of the tiles made them difficult to carry up my three flights of stairs. Now I am hoping that I will have success at removing this wax before installation. I would have preferred that this lubricant had been removed at the factory before shipment.
Best Virgin Tile I have found yet.

We were looking for a commercial grade virgin rubber tile that was also a very high quality for use in a corner of our newly renovated LA Fitness gym. I have used the rest in the past including less expensive options but wow, these are definitely the best. The durability on these things are great and I love that I can actually tell that the color runs all the way through. We have been using these recycled tiles that have been painted and they have to be replaced every single year. It was ridiculous. Then the Sales rep mentioned the possibility of getting a complete virgin rubber tile and how the color wouldn't wear off. I was skeptical at first due to the higher price, but after getting them, now I understand and am glad we bought these. We have had them for a few weeks now and so far so good. If anything changes, I will let you know and believe me, with a last name like D'Amato, I will definitely let you know.
