Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles are versatile drainage tiles built for any indoor or outdoor application — from pool decks and locker rooms to garages, truck beds, bars, and restaurants. Formulated to withstand the harshest outdoor environments, these interlocking modular tiles are UV stable and resistant to mold and mildew. Their vented design allows water to flow freely through the surface, creating a naturally slip-resistant floor that's safe underfoot in wet conditions. Recommended Uses: Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles are a true multi-use drainage tile solution. Most commonly used as pool deck tiles, patio tiles, and garage flooring, they also perform exceptionally well in locker rooms, showers, boat decks, laundry rooms, kennels, truck beds, workstations, bars, and restaurants — indoors or out.

Installation Instructions for Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles

Materials Needed:

Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles
Sharp utility knife
Measuring tape
Edge pieces (optional)
Vacuum

Steps:

Prepare the Subfloor:
- Ensure the subfloor is clean, dry, and free of dirt, dust, grease, or any other debris.
Start Installation:
- Begin in the front left corner of the room.
- Make sure the female side (loops) of the tile is facing away from the wall.
Lay the Tiles:
- Fill the left wall with tiles, then proceed to fill the adjacent wall.
- Continue to place whole tiles across the floor area.
Trim Tiles:
- When you reach walls or obstacles, measure the area and cut the tiles using a sharp utility knife.
- Leave a 3/4” space between the tiles and the wall or obstruction to allow for expansion.
Finish Installation:
- After placing all the tiles, snap in the edge pieces if you have them.
Clean Up:
- Vacuum any loose dust, dirt, or debris from the tiles.

Care and Maintenance for Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles

Regular Cleaning:
- Sweep or vacuum the tiles regularly to remove dirt and debris.
- For deeper cleaning, use a damp mop with mild detergent.
Stain Removal:
- For stubborn stains, use a soft brush and a mixture of warm water and mild detergent.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools that could damage the tiles.
Preventative Maintenance:
- Place doormats at entry points to reduce the amount of dirt and debris tracked onto the tiles.
- Use furniture pads to prevent scratches and damage from heavy furniture.
UV Protection:

Mold & Mildew Prevention:

Yes, our Rugged grip-loc tiles can be used under turf to provide proper drainage underneath.

You may use any of our performance turfs for this purpose, like our Performance Turf Rolls. They work perfectly outside and are durable.

Our Rugged Grip-Loc Tile are a rigid hard plastic tile. They do flex a little bit, but not like a rubber tile.

To prevent movement of our Rugged Grip-Loc tiles, you will want to place them side to side in the snow plow. When fully installed, the weight of the floor will help to keep the tiles in place. If there is still movement after installed, you could use a pressure sensitive adhesive to keep them in place.

Our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles would work perfect in this capacity. These tiles are vented allowing water to pass through and under them. This will ensure proper drainage on your patio.

Our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles can be glued to concrete with a pressure sensitive adhesive.

A basketball would bounce on our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles, however, we do recommend installing these over a hard surface to get a better bounce. These tiles are made with the same material all court tiles are.

Our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles would be work great for this application. These tiles are very easy to install and remove and are vented making them slip-resistant when wet.

Female edging has loops on it and male edging has no loops. You can use either for your installation and would use both if placing edging all around. The female edges would correspond to the side with no loop and vice versa for the male edges.

You can park a car on our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles. These tiles are made from hard polypropylene plastic which is the same material all of our hard plastic garage tiles are made of.

The best way to cut our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles is with one of our Tile Cutters or with a table saw on low speed with silicone or water running over the tile to keep it from melting.

We recommend placing our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles over a flat surface such as concrete or asphalt, but these tiles can be placed over crushed stone or dirt as long as the surface is flat. When placed over these surfaces, during heavy rain events, the floor may become unstable, but during normal conditions, the tiles will perform as designed. The difference between the Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles and Vented Grip-Loc tiles are the colors and the surface venting pattern.

Our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles would be a great alternative to your outdoor carpet. These tiles are weather resistant and are slip resistant when wet. Water will not pool on top of the tiles but will flow through and under them. You wouldn't need to do anything to the tiles to keep them from slipping. The weight of the tiles interlocked together will keep them in place.

Our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles can be used a gym floor. These tiles are very impact resistant and would all for water and other debris to flow under the tiles easily.

We recommend using a power saw with a fine-toothed blade when cutting our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles.

Our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles are the perfect replacement for carpet on a boat. These tiles are very easy to clean and are UV-resistant. These tiles are vented, so they will also water to go through the floor ensuring the flooring surface will stay dry and slip resistant when in use.

We do not recommend installing our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles over an EPDM rubber roof. The reason being is that the bottom of the tiles has little pegs that may puncture the roof. There would be no chemical reaction between the two surfaces.

These tiles are also able to withstand a lot of weight. They are made from the same material as our standard garage tiles, so the weight of a swing set wouldn't be an issue.

You can install our Rugged Grip-Loc Tile over any hard, flat surface that is sturdy. We recommend installing ? over a concrete or asphalt pad or a wooden deck. Since these tiles are vented, they can have water on them. Even when wet, they are very slip resistant.

Our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles would be suitable for as flooring for a commercial indoor pool deck. These tiles are comfortable underfoot and are also slip resistant due to them being vented.

We recommend installing our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles over a hard, flat surface such as concrete, asphalt, or wood decking. If you place these over sand, they may not stay interlocked very well, and the sand would come through the vents in the tiles. Customers have installed these tiles over sand with success. You can add an underlay under our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles. The underlayment we sell and recommend is a rubber underlayment, and it is called our ShockPad. You can find this on our underlayment page or on the middle accessories page on this product.

The use of cleats on them would not damage our Rugged Grip-Loc Tiles. You may see some surface scratches, but the cleats themselves will not damage the tiles themselves. You don't need to glue the tiles down, as they are vented and will allow the water to flow through and under the floor. If the water overcomes the whole area, the tiles won't really move as the water will still be able to move freely through the flooring.

These tiles are made of hard plastic and would work great on the concrete floor, but maybe hard on feet. You may use our Shock Pad underneath these tiles for an extra cushion.

Yes, these tiles can be installed on top of the ceramic tiles, as long as you don't have wide grout lines and the surface is flat. To clean, you may simply hose down these tiles with water. However, since these tiles have openings on the top, some matter may seep through the openings onto the tiles underneath. In this case, these tiles can be easily picked up and the floor underneath can be cleaned if needed.
