Installation Instructions

Installing HotShot Inline Hockey Floor Tiles is straightforward, ensuring a perfect fit every time:

  1. Prepare the Subfloor: Ensure the subfloor is clean and free of dirt, dust, grease, or other contaminants. A smooth, dry surface will provide the best results.

  2. Start Installation: Begin in one corner of the room. Align the first tile so that the female side (with loops) faces away from the wall. This will make it easier to connect the remaining tiles.

  3. Lay Out the Tiles: Arrange the tiles in a perpendicular pattern, filling the entire area with whole tiles according to your design. The interlocking system ensures a secure fit.

  4. Trim as Needed: When you reach edges, walls, or obstacles, measure the required space and cut the tiles using a sharp utility knife, tile cutter, or table saw. Leave a 3/4” gap between the tiles and any surrounding structures to allow for expansion and contraction.

  5. Finishing Touches: If you purchased edge pieces, snap them into place once the tiles are laid.

  6. Game Line Application: For painted game lines, use painter's tape or 3M 2060 tape to outline the lines. Apply a two-part polyurethane paint for a durable finish.

Care and Maintenance

Maintaining your HotShot Inline Hockey Floor Tiles is simple, ensuring they stay in top condition:

  1. Routine Cleaning: Regularly vacuum or sweep the tiles to remove any loose crumbs, dust, or debris. This prevents buildup and maintains a smooth playing surface.

  2. Deeper Cleaning: If needed, you can clean the tiles with a damp mop and mild detergent. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools that could damage the surface.

  3. Inspection and Repairs: Periodically check the tiles for any signs of wear or damage. Replace individual tiles as needed to keep the playing surface safe and uniform.

By following these guidelines, your HotShot Hockey Floor Tiles will provide a professional-quality surface for years of intense play.

Our HotShot Hockey Floor Tiles do not need a rubber hammer to interlock them. Just simply step on the tiles at the locking mechanism and they will lock together. You can use a rubber hammer if you like, but it is not necessary and a lot more fun to stomp on the floor.

We recommend installing our HotShot Hockey Floor Tiles over a flat, hard surface. Some surface imperfections are fine, but extreme imperfections of a 1/4" or more will cause the tiles not to interlock properly.

You can install our HotShot Hockey Floor Tiles over any hard, flat surface. We have had customers install these tiles over natural grass and synthetic turf with success.
