Installation Instructions

Outdoor Installation

  1. Surface Preparation:

    • Level and Clean: Ensure the installation surface is level, clean, and dry. Suitable surfaces include concrete, asphalt, pressure-treated decking, and composite decking.
  2. Turf Layout:

    • Dry Lay: Position the turf rolls to implement roll sequencing and minimize variations. Check the backing for manufacturing details to determine the fiber direction.
  3. Adhesive Application:

    • Adhesive: Apply pressure-sensitive adhesive or double-sided tape to the surface. Lay the turf over the adhesive or tape.
  4. Seaming:

    • Seam Sealer: Apply a bead of seam sealer to all seams.
    • Roll: Use a 75 lb. weighted roller to press the turf across its width and length.
    • Curing: Allow the installation to remain in dry conditions for 72 hours for the adhesive to cure properly.

Non-Infilled Synthetic Lawn Outdoor Installation

  1. Area Preparation:

    • Remove Existing Materials: Clear all grasses, sods, mulches, etc., from the marked areas. Account for landscaping elements like trees, shrubs, and utilities, and ensure adequate space around tree bases.
  2. Base Construction:

    • Compact Soil: Compact the native soil or subgrade if necessary.
    • Add Base Material: Spread crushed rock to a thickness of approximately 3 inches. Level with a landscaping rake.
    • Compact: Spray with water and use a hand tamper for compaction. Allow the area to dry and check for inconsistencies.
  3. Turf Placement:

    • Roll Turf: Lay out the synthetic turf over the constructed base. If using multiple rolls, ensure fiber direction is consistent. Trim untufted edges and mat the borders.
  4. Seaming and Gluing:

    • Fold and Tape: Fold adjacent turf edges 2 feet apart along the seam. Roll out seaming tape and apply adhesive with a 1/8” trowel. Center the tape and lay the turf edges onto it, ensuring no fibers are trapped. Add weight to the seams and let the adhesive cure overnight.
  5. Securing Edges:

    • Stake Down: Secure the turf along the perimeter with landscape spikes every 3 feet.
    • Brush: Use a stiff-bristled broom to lift matted fibers. Sand infill is optional.

    • Dry Lay: Position the turf rolls to manage roll sequencing and minimize variations. Check the backing for manufacturing details to determine the fiber direction.
  3. Adhesive Application:

    • Adhesive or Tape: Apply adhesive or double-sided tape to the surface. Lay the turf over the adhesive or tape.
  4. Seaming:

    • Seam Sealer: Apply a bead of seam sealer to all seams.
