3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are easy to clean. Here are some maintenance tips:

  • Vacuum any loose crumbs, dirt, dust, or debris from the rubber floor covering when necessary.
  • Occasionally damp mop the flooring rolls with a mild soap and water solution. Recommended soaps include Dawn dish detergent or Tide laundry detergent.

Note: Do not use any solvent or oil style cleaners such as Pinesol, Lysol, Murphy’s Oil Soap, WD40, paint thinner, etc. since these types of cleaners will break down the flooring over time.

When installing rolled rubber flooring, it is recommended to use adhesive to prevent the rolls from moving or sliding apart. The most common methods of adhering rubber rolls to the subfloor are:

A: Double-Sided Tape Installation

  1. Clean the subfloor to remove all dust, dirt, and debris.
  2. Loose lay the rolls in the room as desired and let them relax for 24-48 hours for proper installation.
  3. Note: Rolls may be directional, so ensure that the color matches on each roll. If the roll colors do not match, flip them or turn them 180 degrees to match.
  4. Cut the rolls to fit the room, leaving a gap around them for expansion and contraction.
  5. Roll up the rolls at one end of the room and apply double-sided tape to the floor along the perimeter of each roll.
  6. Place the rubber rolls back into position on top of the double-sided tape.

B: Glue Installation

  1. Clean the subfloor to remove all dirt, dust, and debris. Ensure that the subfloor is free of moisture.
  5. Roll up the rolls at one end of the room and spread a light layer of polyurethane adhesive that is 10 feet long (maximum).
  6. Unroll the flooring into the adhesive 10 feet at a time, repeating until the entire roll is in its desired position.
  7. After all the rolls are glued down, it is recommended to use a 100-pound roller or walk on the flooring in small choppy steps to ensure good adherence to the subfloor.

Does this flooring have a fire rating?
Richard Dean
Our 3/8" Pre-Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are Class III fire rated.
Can this be used as garage flooring?
Gloria
The only time when there will be an issue is when your car leaks oil. If your car leaks oil, over time, the rubber flooring will breakdown. You can park a car over our rubber rolls, it will not damage them in any way.
What`s difference between pre-cut heavy duty and regular heavy duty?
joshua
The only difference between our 3/8" Pre-Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls and our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls is that the Pre-Cut Rolls only come in select sizes. They are 10', 15', 25', and 50'. Our standard product can be ordered in any size with the minimum cut being 15'. Our Pre-Cut Rubber Rolls also ship faster with lead times of 1-3 business days.
Looking for flooring that would work over low pile carpet. Plan to put exercise equipment on it.
Anonymous
Our 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be installed over low pile commercial carpet with ease.
Can this flooring be used outdoors? I am looking for a rubber flooring that is easy to clean to put outside our RV as a type of rug. I have small children, so I wanted something with a little padding they could sit on and play.
Candice
Our 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be used outdoors as a rug for an RV. These rubber rolls are very slip-resistant and are even more slip-resistant when wet. These rolls are very easy to clean and maintain and are resistant to mold and mildew growth. Even though our rubber flooring is weather-resistant, these rubber rolls will fade in direct sunlight over time.
Considering the 3/8" Heavy Duty roll: is there any functional difference between the solid black and the 10% color fleck? For instance, density/shock-absorbency for plyometrics?
Brian Anderson
There is no difference between our Black colored rubber and our 10% colored rubber. They have the same density, shock-absorbency, and can be used for the same purposes. The color is just added for aesthetic purposes.
Is this appropriate as a carpet for an outside patio? Do the edges need finishing ?
Susan
Our 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be used as flooring in an outside patio. The flooring comes with three sides finished. You would need to cut one edge to fit your space.
Would this floor work as a sound cushion for flooring in an AV booth? Would chairs rolling over the floor at the booth cause the floor to warp or breakdown Does it require gluing down?
Kerry
You can use our 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls as a sound cushioning for flooring in an AV booth. These rolls would not be the best solution for this, but they would work. If you wanted to get something that would work better for sound absorption, we would recommend on our rubber underlayments. These rolls are very solid and would not warp or breakdown if chairs were rolling over them. You don't have to glue these rolls. You can loose lay the rolls, use double-sided tape, or you can glue the rolls down.
Is this hard to install around a free-standing sink and toilet? Special instructions? Thanks.
mary leuther
There are no special instructions to install our 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls around a free-standing sink or toilet. You would install it like you would any other room, there would just be more cutting involved. You can easily cut our rubber rolls with a sharp utility knife and a straight edge.
The mat would be used in a home gym over a low pile carpet. Some mats say they have low or no odor, but these don't make any mention. Do these have an odor? Do they have an odor?
Ben
Our 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls do have an odor to them. This odor will dissipate over time and is typically not very strong to most people. If you are sensitive to the smell, we recommend mopping the floor with a mild soap and water solution and then let it air dry. You will want to make sure that you have plenty of ventilation in the space where the flooring will be installed. You may have to repeat the cleaning process a few times to get the rubber smell to dissipate truly.
Can this product be used in a golf cart garage?
kay
Our Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be used in a golf cart garage. These rolls are very durable and very easy to clean and maintain.
Does this come in brown?
If you are looking for more colors than we have in our 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls, we recommend you look at the custom cut version of this product; 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls. Here you will find a number of colors to choose from to make your space truly unique.
Trying to find the right thickness floor mats for heavy weight gym, what thickness do you recommend for a home gym?
Cindy
For home gym use, we recommend using our 8mm thick rubber flooring, but any one of our rubber floor thicknesses can be used. Our 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are the most popular thickness used in commercial gyms. This thickness is very versatile and can handle the dropping of dumbbells up to 100 lbs easily and can handle heavy weight equipment on top of it without getting damaged.
Can this be re-installed at different locations if double-sided tape is used as adhesive?
If you use double-sided tape, you can install our 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls in different locations.
Would the 4' x 15' pre-cut piece be appropriate for using to workout oudoors on my concrete patio? I wouldn't be leaving it out there, just using when I workout on the patio. Would that be something an average woman can carry (from the garage to patio)?
Jenny
You can definitely use our 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls outdoors. These rolls are very resistant to the elements and are very easy to clean and maintain. They are very slip-resistant and even more so when wet. These rubber rolls are also mold and mildew resistant. A 15' roll of this stuff is around 130 pounds, so it may be a little much for one person to carry. We would highly suggest that the roll be lifted in a team fashion.
What are the dimensions of a 50 foot 3/8th inch roll (in it's rolled state)? I need to be able to get it through a doorway and up a flight of stairs.
Christy
The rolled-up size of our 50' 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls is approximately 48" long x 7" wide x 7" high.
Looking to use these for garage gym doing CrossFit. Will these handle the weight and use of CrossFit workouts and dropped weights?
Our 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are the perfect flooring option for CrossFit exercises. This thickness is the most popular thickness and commercial gyms and is perfect for dropping heavy weights and doing CrossFit exercises.
How heavy are each of the pre-cut rolls?
Philip
The weight of the different rolls is as follows: The 4'x10' roll is approximately 88 pounds, the 4'x15' roll is approximately 132 pounds, the 4'x25' roll is approximately 210 pounds, and the 4'x50' roll is approximately 420 pounds
I need 2 4' wide rolls to cover the desired space. How do they do next to each other? Do they move apart easily since they're not linked? I'm having a problem with the linked mats separating while doing exercises. Will the same thing happen with these 2 separate large pieces?
Christopher Fenwick
Separation can happen with our rubber rolls, but depending on the size of the roll can be pretty tough to do. If you do experience any separation with our 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls, we recommend adding some double-sided tape under the rolls. This will help to keep the rolls in place while in use.
Is the top surface of this product smooth? I am looking for a smooth rubber flooring option for our gym that will be easy to clean.
Charlie Hinckle
Our 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls and all of our rubber rolls are virtually smooth on top. There is a slight texture due to how rubber flooring is made, but in theory, our rubber rolls wold be smooth. Our rubber flooring is very easy to clean and maintain. For large dirt and debris, you would just sweep or vacuum it away. For any stuck on dirt and debris, you would mop the floor with a mild soap and water solution with a synthetic mop head.
I lived in a loft with concrete floors for 12 years. Now I need softer flooring after fracturing several metatarsals, foot bones. I have carpet in the living and bedrooms; how would this work in a kitchen or hall or bath? I don't care much about appearances; I prefer comfort. And I'd definitely like this in my 3rd bedroom/workout room. Any input is appreciated.
Greg
If you are looking for a rubber floor that will provide optimal shock absorbency, we would recommend going with our Eco Flec Rolls, our Impact Rubber Rolls, or our black Regrind Rolls. These products are all made to provide comfort underfoot and great shock absorbency. These rubber rolls can be used in a kitchen, hall, or bathroom. These rubber rolls are very easy to clean and maintain and are mold and mildew resistant. Our rubber flooring is also slip-resistant and more so when wet.
We have a 14' 8" x 11' bedroom that we are using as an exercise room. The floor is a medium nap carpet over carpet pad and cement. We want rubber flooring on a 13' x 8' section for a workout area. We will have a 400 lb Peloton treadmill sitting on it and a Bowflex strength machine. The rest of the area will be for yoga, Zumba, weights, etc. Will 3/8" be thick enough not to flex underfoot when we work out?
Shannon
Our 3/8" Pre Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be installed over carpet as long as that carpet is a low pile or commercial carpet. The rolls can still be placed over a high pile carpet, but due to the carpet pad underneath, you may get separation of the rolls which can cause a tripping hazard. We do have a couple of solutions to prevent separation. You can add a 1/4" plywood board over your carpet to prevent the separation, or you could go with one of our thick rubber tiles. The number one used over carpet with a thick pad is our 1" Monster Rubber Tiles.
Do they turn your knee black, or clothes black from playing on it, or kneeling on it?
Our 3/8" Pre-Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls will not turn your knee black or clothes black while playing or kneeling on it. We do recommend cleaning the flooring before use. Doing this will help remove any loose material from the manufacturing process and remove any dirt and grime accumulated from the manufacturing, shipping, or installation process.
Can I use this on top of my decking boards to stop the water from going to my deck below? Is it water-resistant/proof?
Our 3/8" Pre-Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls are semi-porous and could still potentially allow water to flow to the deck below. To prevent this, we recommend using our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer to fill in the small pores and use our Seam Sealer glue to fill in the seams around the rolls. This will make our rubber flooring water-tight and prevent any water from flowing to the deck below.
Is rolled, glue-down product over concrete amenable to daily hosing down? Dog urine staining?
Madalyn Duffy
Yes, you can hose down our 3/8" Pre-Cut Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls daily without damaging the rolls. Dog urine won't stain our rubber flooring. If urine or any liquid is left sitting for an extended period and allowed to dry, you may see some small white solids on the floor. These are the salts from the liquid, and if they are caught in the pores of the floor, they may be difficult to remove.

I ordered the product with at least a minor level of curiosity/concern as to whether the product would stay firmly and securely in place during the course of active workouts. Very happy and confident in saying that without question this is a heavy duty, durable product that can take a beating AND stay in place. The rolls fit very seamlessly together side-by-side. I used 2-sided carpet tape at the seams--between that method of adhesive and the weight of the product, it's not goin' anywhere!
