When installing Rosco Adagio® Rolls vinyl marley dance floor, it is recommended that you use some kind of adhesive to prevent the rolls from moving around or sliding apart between adjacent rolls. The most common methods of adhering vinyl flooring to the subfloor are as follows:

A: Double Sided Tape Installation

  • Clean the subfloor so it’s free of all dust, dirt, and debris.
  • Loose lay your rolls out as they should sit after installation. Let the rolls relax for up to 24-48 hours to ensure proper installation of your new flooring.
  • Make any necessary cuts to the rolls to fit them into the room using a Straightedge and a Utility Knife with a fresh blade. We recommend leaving a 1/4" gap around the rolls to account for expansion and contraction.
  • Apply double sided carpet tape to the underside of each roll around the perimeters, then place the vinyl rolls back into position on top of the double sided tape. You can also use mat tape to secure rolls to the floor from the top, and join multiple rolls together.
  • Install shiny side down, matte side up. The dance surface (top) is textured slightly, called calendaring which looks like tiny goosebumps. Place vinyl rolls back into position on top of the double-sided tape.

B: Glue Installation

  • First clean your subfloor so it’s free of all dirt, dust, and debris. When gluing your flooring down, it’s also recommended that the subfloor is free of any moisture.
We recommend leaving a gap around the rolls roughly the thickness of the rolls being used to account for expansion and contraction.
  • Install shiny side down, matte side up. The dance surface (top) is textured slightly, called calendaring which looks like tiny goosebumps.
  • Roll up the rolls at one end of the room. Put down a 10' long light layer of adhesive and unroll 10' of the flooring into the adhesive at a time.
  • Repeat this step for every 10’ of roll length until the entire roll has been unrolled into its desired position.
  • After all the rolls have been glued down, use a 100-Lb. roller on the floor to guarantee good adherence to the subfloor. If a roller is not available, walking on the flooring in small choppy steps may also work.

Manufacturer's Instructions for Maintaining your Rosco Dance Floors:

  • It is the nature of vinyl marley floor that scuffmarks may show upon the surface of the material. This in no way affects the performance of the floor.
  • The regular cleaning of your Rosco dance floor is important to the overall life of your floor. The floor should be swept and mopped at least 3 times a weekIn touring applications the floor should be swept and mopped everyday.
  • Do not use any cleaner with ammonia in its formula, as the ammonia will leave a slippery residue on the surface of your floor. Prior to the mopping, the floor should be swept clean with a soft push broom. A corn broom or other bristle broom may leave scratches on the floor surface.
  • For the regular cleaning, Rosco All Purpose Dance Floor Cleaner is the specified cleaning product for all Rosco Dance Floors. The water temperature should be warm but not hot.
  • For light duty cleaning, add 1 ounce of Rosco All Purpose Dance Floor Cleaner to 1 gallon of water, mop and let dry. For moderate to heavy dirt build up on the floor add 2-4 ounces of Rosco All Purpose Cleaner to warm water, mop and let dry. If there is gummy residue from floor tape, apply Rosco All Purpose Cleaner full strength to a soft cloth and rub on the build up.
  • Afterwards, rinse the area with warm water and let dry. If the floor has either been in storage or not cleaned for a period of time use Rosco Heavy Duty Dance Floor Cleaner. Rosco Heavy Duty Cleaner is a floor stripper as well as a cleaner.
  • Using Rosco Heavy Duty Cleaner you will remove all waxes and any excessive dirt that has built up the floor. Add 1 cup (8 ounces) of Rosco Heavy Duty Cleaner to cold water and mop. After cleaning rinse the floor with 1 ounce of household vinegar per gallon of cold water and let dry.
  • To remove difficult stains or spills, apply Rosco Heavy Duty Cleaner full strength directly to a soft cloth, rubbing the cloth on the stain. Then rinse the area with 1 ounce of household vinegar to 1 gallon of cold water to the area and let dry.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as discoloration may occur. We recommend closing blinds or drapes during peak sunlight hours to prolong the life of the floor.
Please note: This is not a stain-proof product. Leaving certain harsh chemicals or spills on the floor for an extended time may cause some staining and/or damage. Always clean up a spill immediately to reduce the chance of staining or other damage to your flooring.
