With a unique interlocking system, these portable flooring tiles are quick to install and disassemble. Anyone can install these extremely portable interlocking tiles over a variety of solid sub-surfaces, including sand and grass, without any tools. They are also highly durable, scuff-resistant, easy to clean, and long-lasting. The commercial-grade construction of these indoor outdoor flooring tiles allows them to withstand rolling loads up to 25,000 lbs.
Modular Grid-Loc Tiles are the perfect multi-purpose flooring for any home dance studio, yoga or pilates studio, portable dance floor, wedding dance floor, special event flooring, trade show flooring, and as a temporary flooring solution.

Installation
- Surface Prep: Clean your subfloor so that it is free of all dirt, dust, grease, or other foreign material before beginning installation.
- Starting at the top left corner of your designated dance area, put a tile down with the male edges (no loop) facing towards the top and left direction. Make sure the female sides (loops) of the tile are facing the bottom and right direction.
- Attach your second tile to the right side of the first tile, lowering and interlocking it into each loop.
- Repeat step #2 until you have completed one full side of your dance floor.
- Once you’ve secured your last tile into place in the first row, you’ll begin a second row beneath the very first tile. Interlock the top of your second row tile with the bottom of your first row tile. Follow step #2.
- Follow the same process to fill in all of your rows of tiles to create your desired dance floor size.
- Once you’ve secured your last tile into place in the first row, you’ll begin a second row beneath the very first tile. Interlock the top of your second-row tile with the bottom of your first-row tile. Follow step #2.
- As you did with the male edges, lay out all female edges to make sure you have enough. Once you are ready you can click the female edges into place to complete your floor.
- **For wall-to-wall installations: When you come up to a wall or object, don’t worry. Simply measure the area and cut the tiles with a tile cutter or a power saw with a fine-toothed blade. Interlock the trimmed tiles into place. When trimming the tiles into place, make sure you leave about a 3/4” space between the tiles and the wall or obstruction. Once the tiles are in place, you can then snap in the edge pieces if you purchased them.
- Please note: Since Modular Grid-Loc Tiles™ dance tiles feature a vinyl top adhered to the tile with a pressure-sensitive adhesive, pressure may be needed to ensure that the vinyl top fully adheres. You can easily accomplish this by walking across the floor or by using a flooring roller for larger areas.
Care & Maintenance
- Vacuuming or sweeping any loose crumbs, dust, or debris from the modular tiles when necessary.
- Hose off or damp mop the floor tiles with a mild soap and water mixture for tough or caked-on dirt and/or stains.

Hi, Are these tiles mold and water resistant? Are they fire proof? What is the warranty you give on these?
The tiles are mold and water resistant. They are not fire proof. 12 year manufacturer's warranty.

The Slate Black has a bit of a texture to it but the other styles are more flat.
Was this helpful?Can these tiles be taken apart and put back together fairly regularly or does that weaken the lock? Or is the lock permanent?
The locking mechanism is not permanent, you can take the apart and put back together if you would like to.
Was this helpful?Can this be used for swing dancing? (e.g. I'm hoping that the surface is NOT squishy.) Does the top part of the tile feel hard?
These tiles are not squishy, and are constructed with a dense hard plastic base for durability. They should work just fine for swing dancing.

I just placed my second order having placed my first in March of 2017. The first order went extremely well! Chat service was awesome and my second order went much the same as the first. As far as the tile goes, it looks great and is exactly what I was looking for! In my initial order of 4' x 4' Oak Modular Grid-Loc Tiles with edge pieces, putting it together was a pretty simple affair and the video on the website helped :). I am presently using the flooring to practice tap dancing and I can say that it works extremely well for that purpose. If you're into dancing and need a good quality floor I strongly recommend this company and their products.

Needed white flooring tile for taking photographs. Just needed a few white tiles and Rubber Flooring was exactly what we needed. Easy installation after viewing the video on Rubber Flooring's site.
