Plan the unload before you book the truck.
How heavy flooring ships
A single rubber roll usually ships by parcel or light freight. Multi-roll and pallet orders ship by LTL freight. On a heavy product, freight cost depends on weight and distance. Our custom-cut rubber rolls ship from the stocking warehouse closest to the delivery address.
Plan the crew for the weight. A single 4' x 10' rubber roll at 3/8" weighs about 100 pounds. For multi-roll or pallet orders, the cart gets a live LTL freight quote from the closest stocking location. On rubber roll pages, Shipping Saver shows the colors stocked closest to your ZIP. Pick one of those colors when the spec allows it.
Plan the unload
Standard delivery is to the curb at your address, so plan to have help on site to move the material inside. An LTL delivery can include a liftgate if you need one. Commercial buyers often have a forklift or a loading dock.
- Receiving hours: confirm the hours when the site can accept a truck.
- Truck access: confirm that a freight truck can reach the drop point.
- Unloading: choose a liftgate, a forklift, or a loading dock.
- Site contact: name one person who is on site for the delivery.
- Property management: confirm the building rules for deliveries.
On commercial jobs, the billing party can be different from the delivery address. That is normal. Confirm both before the order ships. For rubber rolls, our guide says to confirm the color with samples first, so that you do not pay LTL freight twice for a mismatch.
Send the delivery address and the unloading setup. We will quote the freight to match.
Book the delivery appointment
- Step 1: watch for the tracking notice by email or text.
- Step 2: call the carrier at once. The name and phone number are on the notice.
- Step 3: confirm a date and a window when the site contact is there.
Inspect before you sign
The driver asks you to sign a proof of delivery sheet. Write any damage or shortage on that sheet before you sign. This protects your claim. Count the boxes and compare the count to your receipt. Take photos of the delivery, and note any damaged boxes.
