Description - We at IncStores are proud to introduce our new Premium Soft Wood Tiles. Our new foam backed tiles offer the same modern and attractive appearance, but offer much more durability being more scratch-resistant and can withstand more abuse. These high quality tiles are still easy to install, low cost, light weight, and water resistant which means they can be installed in a variety of situations. These foam flooring tiles also help to reduce sound transmission and help to keep users insulated from cold subfloors below. Each tile comes with two removable edge pieces attached which allows you to turn any tile into a corner, border, or center tile; and just like our standard soft wood tiles, our new soft wood tiles are 100% allergen free and latex free.
Note: This product is not designed for medium to high traffic areas. The wooden design is a thin yet durable veneer like foam surface that can be punctured under sharp animal nails, rough use, high heels, and the wooden pattern is not guaranteed to always line up between interlocking tiles.
Material – Soft wood tiles are constructed of closed cell high density foam that helps ensure they are water resistant, odor free, light weight yet durable and insulating.
Size – 2' x 2' (Note: Tiles do overlap 1” where they lock together)
Thickness – ~14mm
Weight – Each tile weighs approximately 1.88 Lbs.
Recommended Uses – Soft wood tiles have been used successfully as basement flooring, trade show flooring, exhibit flooring, retail display flooring, living areas, conventions, or any other location where an elegant yet cushioning flooring surface would be useful.

  • All of our premium soft wood tiles are in stock and ready to ship via Fedex.
  • Soft wood floor tiles typically ship the same day or the next business day and deliver within 2-7 business days depending on your location.
  • An email will automatically be sent to you with your tracking information as soon as your tiles ship.

  • Premium soft wood tiles can be maintained just like your wood flooring at home.
  • The recommended cleaning instructions typically include sweeping the tiles to remove any loose or dry dirt, crumbs, dust, or debris.
  • To clean harder stains or liquids off of the soft wood tiles, the tiles should be wiped off with a damp rag or temporarily lifted and cleaned under warm running water in a sink or bath tub.
  • For our dark wood colors, scuffing can be a problem. To remove the scuff marks from these tiles, we recommend using pledge. This will not remove and surface damage, but will help minimize the appearance of the scuff mark.

Installation of interlocking tiles is very simple and typically done by the consumer. Typical installation of these tiles is as follows:
  • First, clean your sub floor so it is free of all dirt, grease or debris.
  • Start in one corner of the room with a corner tile and add border tiles outward along the adjacent walls. Add center, corner, and border tiles where you see fit.
  • When coming up to an opposite wall, make sure you cut the tiles to fit the area leaving a gap that’s roughly the thickness of the tiles being used to account for expansion and contraction of the floor tiles in varied temperature ranges.
Note: When piecing interlocking tiles together, adhesives are usually not used since the weight of the locked together product is usually enough to keep the floor tiles from moving. However, if you do experience movement and would like to ensure that the tiles do not slide at all, some double-sided tape or mat tape can be used around the perimeter of the installation to prevent any movement.

Highlights

  • Are 100% allergen and latex free!
  • Perfect for light traffic areas.
  • Can be punctured by high heels, animal nails and furniture.
  • Wood pattern is not guaranteed to line up between tiles.
  • Each tile includes two detachable edge pieces.

    Q:

Will high heels ruin this type of flooring? I'm looking for something durable to use in a photography studio.

    A:

Our Premium Soft Wood Tiles are made of foam and can be damaged by high heels. If you are looking for a wood look floor that will give you some anti-fatigue properties and stand up to high heels, we recommend our Eco-Impact Roll - Wood Series or our Impact Rolls - Wood Series.

    Q:

Are the tiles themselves 2'x2' or does that include the removable ends pieces in the 2'x2' measurement? Also, I was considering this for a home pilates studio. I don't mind if the tiles indent from the pilates reformer, however, will the forward and backward impact on the machine cause the tiles to rip?

    A:

Our Premium Soft Wood Tiles are 2' x 2' with the removable edge pieces. With them removed the tiles are 23.38" x 23.38". These tiles can be used under a Pilates Reformer since the machine itself is stationary. The weight of the machine will create an indentation in the tiles. So if you were to move the machine you could move the tiles that were placed underneath it to hide the damaged tiles. If you are looking for a product that will hold up better to the weight of the machine, I would suggest using our Impact Rolls - Wood Series. This product gives you the look of wood with a durable vinyl top layer.

    Q:

Can you apply these tiles over carpet or do you have to pull up the carpet before putting the tiles down.

    A:

Our Premium Soft Wood Tiles can be placed over a commercial grade low pile carpet with ease. Over high pile carpet, there is a chance the tiles will separate creating a tripping hazard.

    Q:

I've been looking for a flooring option for our basement and this product looks wonderful, but I need to know how well it holds up with wheelchair use. One of our children is a wheelchair user, would this flooring hold up against a child-weight wheelchair?

    A:

Our Premium Soft Wood Tiles are made of foam and will not hold up well to a wheel chair. We do offer several wood looking products that would hold up better. Our Eco-Impact Rolls - Wood Series and our Impact Rolls - Wood Series are both great alternatives to our Soft Wood Tiles due to their durability and ease of installation.

    Q:

For the tiles, do i need to place a vapor barrier underneath them in cemented areas like a basement?

    A:

Our Premium Soft Wood Tiles are made with close celled EVA foam and would not need a vapor barrier placed underneath them. If you do have water issues, we do recommend sealing your floor first , which will help to reduce incidences of mold and mildew growth.

    Q:

What cleaning products can be used on the flooring?

    A:

To remove large dirt and debris, we recommend using a broom to remove it from our Premium Soft Wood Tiles. For stains and spills, we recommend using a rag or mop with a mild soap and water solution.

    Q:

I'm putting these on hardwood floors, turning a dining room into a play room. What do I use for a transition piece into the kitchen/foyer so people don't trip. The 14mm was too high for the rubber transition piece you offer and I don't want a lot of additional expense. Thanks!

    A:

Our Premium Soft Wood Tiles do not currently have a transition piece for them, but you can use any standard flooring trim piece to finish your floor.

    Q:

How are the premium soft wood tiles cleaned?

    A:

Our Premium Soft Wood Tiles can be cleaned with a clean cloth or mop and mild soap and water solution. For large debris, we recommend using a broom.

    Q:

How much weight can tile handle? Will it help with cold floor? I'm looking to put them on top of our ceramic tile floor and put TV stand and sofa on top of soft wood foam tile.

    A:

Our Premium Soft Wood Tiles are made of foam, so any amount of weight will cause them to depress to varying degrees. Since these tiles are made with closed cell EVA foam, they will provide you with excellent insulating properties. For any heavy furniture, we recommend using Furniture Sliders underneath the furniture legs to prevent permanently damaging the floor.

    Q:

Is a steam mop okay to use for cleaning? I am concerned about the temperature affecting the materials.

    A:

For our Premium Soft Wood Tiles, we recommend using a synthetic mop head with a mild soap and water solution. Using a steam mop may be ok, but there is always a concern that the print may be affected.

Our Premium Soft Wood Tiles can be installed on stairs.

    Q:

Are tiles fireproof if used in a kitchen?

    A:

Our 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles are not fire proof, but they are fire resistant.

    Q:

I have an electric baseboard heater in my basement and looking forward to installing this flooring, is this a fire hazard near the heater? As the electric baseboard heater tends to get very hot, Thanks in advance

    A:

Our 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles are able to withstand temperatures as high as 140°F without melting or curling. So these tiles will work just fine installed next to your baseboard heater.

    Q:

Wanted to know if the wood tiles are safe from animal claw puncturing?

    A:

Our 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles will get punctured by animal nails and claws.

    Q:

Does this 5/8" tile come with beveled edge. Can you get beveled edge?

    A:

Our 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles do not come with a beveled edge.

    Q:

What the best way to cut the tiles? A straight edge and razor? Or table saw? A friend bought these and I'm going to help install them

    A:

The best way to cut our 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles is a sharp utility knife and a straight edge. We do not recommend using a table saw due to the fact the tile will melt as the blade is cutting it.

    Q:

Is there any way to remove or lighten up the scuff marks that have appeared after installation and cleaning?

    A:

We recommend using pledge to take out the scuff marks from our dark wood colored soft wood tiles. The floor may not look perfect depending on how the scuff mark was created, but it will look virtually like new after application.

    Q:

Sometimes my basement gets damp with summer humidity, will these tiles work for me? I have a concrete floor I would like to cover.

    A:

Our 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles are made with a closed cell EVA foam making them resistant to mold, mildew, and water. So the moisture in your basement will not affect the tiles in any way.

  • 0
    votes

    Q:

Can you tape the tiles together so they don't separate as easily and if so what kind of tape would you recommend?

    A:

You can tape our 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles. We recommend using our Mat Tape since it is less aggressive. You can use our Double-Sided tape to keep the tiles together and also in your desired installation area, but when removed, there is potential for damage to the tiles.

    Q:

Can the rubber tiles be used on stairs?

    A:

Our Premium Soft Wood tiles can be used on stairs. The veneer on these tiles may not stand up to the traffic that is found on stairs, but they can be installed on them. To install these tiles to stairs you will need to glue them with a pressure sensitive adhesive. Our 5000 series adhesive works well for this application.

    Q:

Are all of the straight edge pieces included? Also, can these be put over carpet or does it have to be removed first?

    A:

Each Premium Soft Wood Tile comes with two removable edge pieces. These will allow you to create corner, border and center tiles. These soft tiles can be placed over commercial grade carpet with ease. If you have thick pile carpet, the tiles can be placed over it. But there is potential for the foam tiles to separate.

Awesome for our basement, but a couple of things..
4/5 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles
M.R. from Chicago, IL (N. Suburbs)
I bought these tiles for my entire basement! It's about 750 square feet. I love they way they look and feel and we put them right over the concrete. I have had three floods in the last 7 years and I didn't want to do carpet again. We have very uneven concrete and it wasn't a problem for the tiles which is a huge money saver not to have to level the floor. We get TONS of complements and my kids (boys) and their friends love it! But, I do have a couple of complaints. After just a couple of days of playing ping pong, the spot where the kids stand started to peel at the edges! The company was happy to replace the tiles at no cost, but I then decided to put area rugs in those spots to prevent it happening again in the future. I do have a couple of scuff marks, but that's not a huge deal for me. A couple of punctures already too. People should know going in that this product is not for a high traffic area (which I did know somewhat going in), but I didn't think it would peel so quickly. I bought extra because I know kids wreck stuff! Overall, great product and good customer service.

Nice but not long-wearing
3/5 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles
Anonymous from Jupiter, FL
We have had these on the floor where our grandsons play for 5 months now. The 1-year-old has started picking at the frayed edges (yes, the edges fray) and he's started peeling the layer off the top. The mat itself has been wonderful but if you're looking for a long-term fix, this isn't it. And I wouldn't even try to put this under gym equipment - I don't think it would last a month. We're glad we purchased it as it kept the baby safe when he was learning to sit and then stand but as far as he and the 5-year-old playing on it - I don't think it will last a year.

Installed the textured maple flooring in a home gym. It was very easy to install and cut. Looks great and feels even better. Everyone that sees and walks on this floor is blown away! The only con was that we didn't know the floor was on backorder until days after we placed the order, so it took several weeks to receive it.

5/5 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles
Tina from Smithville, TN
Purchased this to use as the flooring in the sleeping area of my gooseneck horse trailer. Put it together quickly...and shaping some intricate corners was easy using a boxcutter. Soft on the knees when getting into the bed. Used the leftover to make seat cushion for the bench, too. Excellent product ,,,,shipping was quick. Ordered it Tues, got it Friday!! Will order from here again.

Good for its use (looking like wood in home gym). Dirty as soon as you step on it so has a layer of dust on it from beginning, is not of material that wipes off easily. Have to cut some border prices to fit flush but not a huge deal.

New basement floors
5/5 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles
Tiffany F. from Chesapeake, VA
We just bought our first home and the basement level had concrete floors. The main room down there was going to be a playroom, but I was concerned about my kids' safety (I have a four year old, 3 year old and 11 month old). Once I found this flooring, I was sold! We bought flooring to cover the entire playroom, under the stairs and some extra just in case. The flooring came out beautifully! My husband put it together easily with a friend. They bought said it was so easy and fun to do. It looks incredible and matches my stairs perfectly. We get so many compliments on the floors. Everyone wants them! They are extremely durable and hold up well. They are super easy to wipe down and clean. My kids have fallen on these floors and didn't get hurt at all. The floors are right on top of the concrete, but provide plenty of cushion just on their own. I literally could not be happier! Thank you for making such an incredible product!

Nicole Delahanty from Uniontown, OH
hi.. I ordered this flooring for my basement gym. It took me 1 1/2 hours to install and it turned out absolutely beautiful. The product fit well together and new soft workout looks and feels great. The color I ordered (onyx) was back-ordered but the company kept me informed of my shipment status. I could not have asked for anything better.

Really great if you don't have pets
4/5 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles
Jena Siegler from Minnesota
Don't get me wrong, I love these tiles - they look great in my house I use them in replace of those bright crazy alphabet foam kid mats. My son can fall and I'm not worried about the real hardwood floors hurting him anymore! But we have cats and dogs and their little nails also really love the feeling of the mats, so unfortunately they get tore up easily which is a total bummer but obviously not the fault of the mat itself! If you invest in them and have pets I suggest getting a rug to put over then when not in use if your pets like to scratch! Overall great product!

We used the 5/8" maple pattern floor in a new basement room for our teeens to play games and watch videos. Easy to install. It took maybe two hours. Looks great and we get lots of compliments. The flooring feels warm in a cold basement.
