  • Is it waterproof?

    No, this engineered wood product is not waterproof.

  • Can Albright oak be sanded and refinished or is it too thin of a layer?

    Albright Oak can be resurfaced. However, because of the ScuffResist Platinum finish it would be somewhat difficult to refinish which is why it also comes with a Lifetime Residential Warranty.

  • The specs state the flooring is 3/8" thick, but how thick is the hardwood wear layer itself?

    The hardwood layer is 1.2MM thick, but Shaws ScufResist™ Platinum protects it. ScufResist™ is a top coating that protects the flooring from scratches and scuffs 6x better than the competition.

    I installed this floor in my bedroom last fall. It looks great, but I've noticed that it scratches very easily, as if the finish is very thin. I have a can of stain to touch up any scratches since the scratches show a very light color wood underneath the finish. I have hardwood floors of a different brand in my living room, hallway, kitchen, and another bedroom, and this is the only one that scratches easily.
