What Is Pentz Commercial Carpet?

Pentz Commercial Flooring Solutions is a division of Engineered Floors, LLC, a carpet manufacturer headquartered in Dalton, Georgia and founded in 2009 by Robert E. Shaw. Shaw had spent his career running Shaw Industries, the much larger carpet company that carries the family name, and retired from it in 2006 before starting Engineered Floors three years later. The two companies are separate businesses with no ownership relationship, and FlooringInc carries both. Pentz itself launched in 2016, after Engineered Floors acquired J&J Flooring, to serve one slice of the market: mainstreet commercial carpet.

That focus shows up in how the product is built. Engineered Floors runs what it calls a Four Walls Process, keeping carpet production in-house rather than farming out extrusion, tufting and backing to separate suppliers. One hundred percent of Pentz soft-surface product is made in the company’s tile plants in Northwest Georgia, which is why every Pentz line we carry is flagged made in the USA on its product page.

What you get from it is carpet engineered for buildings that stay open. Nearly every line carries a Class 1 fire rating, meets ADA guidelines for accessibility, and holds CRI Green Label or Green Label Plus certification for indoor air quality. Warranties run long. Most collections carry lifetime coverage for wear, stain removal, delamination and colorfastness to light, while value tiles like Fast Break, Revival and Revolution pair a 10-year commercial wear warranty with a lifetime stain warranty. Coverage does vary by collection, so the specific terms are published on each listing.

Pentz Commercial Carpet Tiles, Planks and Broadloom at FlooringInc

Our Pentz commercial carpet tile catalog is modular first, with a broadloom program alongside it. Three formats, and most collections cross between them.

Pentz carpet tiles (24" x 24")

The bulk of the range, sold by the case at 72 sq ft per carton. Fast Break, Revival, Revolution, Oasis, Blockade, Dynamic and Visionary cover the value end; Techtonic, Cabled, Uplink and the choppy linear Sidewinder handle heavier traffic and busier patterns. The color-forward end is Amplify, Colorburst, Magnify and Colorpoint, the last running 16 colorways. Browse the format under carpet tiles.

Pentz carpet planks (12" x 48")

The same commercial construction in a 55.98 sq ft case, cut long so the floor reads directional instead of gridded. Cliffhanger, Universe, Cabled, Amplify and Colorburst run ashlar, herringbone or straight-lay layouts, and they sit alongside the squares in our carpet tile category. Several collections ship in both tile and plank. Amplify and Colorburst coordinate deliberately with each other, as do Magnify and Colorburst, so you can change scale mid-floor without changing product.

Pentz broadloom carpet rolls (12’ wide)

For wall-to-wall work where seams should disappear: Oasis patterned loop berber, Uplink textured loop in 20 and 26 oz face weights, and the enhanced- and graphic-loop Outlaw and Rogue, both rated TARR 3.5 for rigorous foot traffic. All four use Apex SDP® solution-dyed polyester over a woven polypropylene backing. Find them under carpet rolls and commercial carpet.

Why Buy Pentz Carpet From FlooringInc

FlooringInc is an authorized Pentz retailer, and commercial carpet is bought by the carton and the pallet, which makes the ordering math matter as much as the color.

Get the quantity right before it ships. Pentz tiles land 72 sq ft to a case and planks 55.98, so a 2,000 sq ft office is a different carton count depending on which format you pick. Cut waste on a plank layout is not the same as on a 24" grid either. The calculator on each product page works it out, and if the room is irregular you can call and have someone walk through it with you.

See the color in your building, not on your monitor. Free samples cover the Pentz range like the rest of the site. Commercial carpet gets specified under fluorescent or LED light that shifts color badly, and the greys and blues are exactly the ones that shift. Put two swatches on the actual floor before committing to a pallet.

The reviews aren’t ours to write. Look up FlooringInc on Shopper Approved, Google, Trustpilot or the BBB and you’ll find more than 125,000 of them, filed by people who bought floors, not by us.

Call before you order, not after. Pentz stock ships from our Tennessee warehouse, and the phone reaches people who work with these products daily. That is the difference between catching a warranty-tier or format mismatch now and discovering it when the pallet lands.

Specifying a whole floor? Order samples of your two finalists in the format you will actually install. A plank and a tile in the same colorway can read as different floors once they are down.

Pentz Commercial Carpet FAQ

Who makes Pentz carpet?

Pentz Commercial Flooring Solutions is a division of Engineered Floors, LLC, headquartered in Dalton, Georgia. Engineered Floors was founded in 2009 by Robert E. Shaw, who previously ran Shaw Industries, a separate and much larger carpet company that carries the same family name, before retiring from it in 2006. Pentz launched in 2016 after Engineered Floors acquired J&J Flooring. Engineered Floors and Shaw Industries have no ownership relationship.

Where can I buy Pentz carpet online?

You can buy Pentz commercial carpet online at FlooringInc, an authorized Pentz retailer, with free samples shipped so you can check a colorway in your own building before ordering a pallet. Our Pentz catalog covers 24" x 24" carpet tiles, 12" x 48" carpet planks and 12-foot-wide broadloom rolls, and orders ship from our Tennessee warehouse.

Is FlooringInc an authorized Pentz retailer?

Yes. FlooringInc is an authorized retailer of Pentz commercial carpet. Pentz is a manufacturer brand we carry rather than a FlooringInc house brand, and the Pentz product we sell is genuine Pentz goods carrying the warranties published on each product listing.

Is Pentz carpet made in the USA?

Yes. Engineered Floors states that one hundred percent of Pentz soft-surface product is manufactured in its tile plant facilities in Northwest Georgia, under a Four Walls Process that keeps production in-house. Every Pentz line in our catalog is flagged made in the USA on its product page.

Is Pentz carpet good for commercial spaces?

Pentz exists for exactly this. It is a mainstreet commercial brand, and the lines we carry are specified for offices, schools, churches, healthcare and retail, spaces that get walked on all day. Nearly every collection carries a Class 1 fire rating and meets ADA guidelines, and the broadloom Outlaw and Rogue lines are rated TARR 3.5 for rigorous foot traffic. Performance still varies by line, so check the specs on the listing against your traffic level.

How much does Pentz commercial carpet cost?

Pricing is listed on each Pentz product page and varies by collection and format. Carpet tiles and planks are priced and sold by the case, and broadloom is priced by the linear foot off a 12-foot-wide roll, so the per-square-foot cost depends on which format you specify as well as which collection. Order free samples of your shortlist and compare the case price against the performance specs before committing to a pallet.

What sizes do Pentz carpet tiles and planks come in?

Carpet tiles are 24" x 24", sold by the case at 72 sq ft per carton. Carpet planks are 12" x 48", at 55.98 sq ft per case. Broadloom rolls are 12 feet wide and cut to the length you order. Several collections, Amplify, Colorburst, Cabled and Universe among them, are available in more than one format.

What is the difference between Pentz carpet tiles and carpet planks?

The construction is the same; the shape changes what the floor looks like and how it installs. A 24" x 24" tile lays in a grid and is the simplest to plan and to replace. A 12" x 48" plank is directional, so it can run ashlar, herringbone or straight-lay and reads more like a wood floor than a checkerboard. Planks also cover less per case, so the carton count for the same room is different.

Carpet tile or broadloom, which is better for commercial spaces?

It depends on how the space gets used. Modular carpet tile installs without stretching, and a damaged tile lifts out and gets replaced without touching the rest of the floor, which is why facility managers favour it in offices, classrooms and anywhere spills and chair casters do localised damage. Broadloom covers wide open areas with fewer visible seams and often reads more seamless underfoot. Pentz makes both, so you can specify tile in the high-wear zones and broadloom in the areas that stay quiet.

What warranties come with Pentz carpet?

Most Pentz collections carry lifetime warranties covering some combination of wear, stain removal, delamination, static and colorfastness to light. The value tiles, Fast Break, Revival and Revolution, pair a 10-year commercial wear warranty with a lifetime stain warranty. Coverage differs by collection, so the specific terms are published on each product listing.

Is Pentz carpet Green Label certified?

The Pentz lines we carry are CRI Green Label or Green Label Plus Clean Air Certified, the Carpet and Rug Institute indoor air quality program for carpet, and are noted as such on their product pages. That matters most on school, healthcare and office specifications where indoor air quality is written into the requirement.

Can I get a sample of Pentz carpet before I buy?

Yes. Free samples ship on the Pentz range like the rest of our catalog. It is worth doing on commercial carpet specifically, because carpet colors shift under fluorescent and LED lighting far more than they do on a screen. Order your two finalists and set them down in the actual space before committing to a full order.
