If I didn’t want to install this product from wall to wall, will it lay down flat and not create a tripping issue where the flooring terminates?
Our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series rolls will lay flat when installed. They will not curl up, creating a tripping hazard. If you would like to eliminate a tripping hazard altogether, you can purchase one of our Rubber Floor Ramps.
Was this helpful?I am considering combining a couple of rolls to make an area rug/mat (approx 8' x 14') to place over medium-pile carpet. This would be used to place exercise equipment and for low impact exercise. Would the mats stay together and in place over the carpet or does it need to be installed wall to wall? Anything else I should be considering for this purpose?
Our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series can be installed over medium-pile carpet. The rubber flooring doesn't need to be installed wall-to-wall. Typically you don't have to place anything under the rolls to keep them in place as they are pretty heavy and will stay in place on their own. If for some reason, the rolls were to move while performing certain exercises, we recommend placing some double-sided tape under the rolls. This should be enough to keep the flooring in place.

You can use our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series on a porch. These rubber rolls are mold and mildew resistant and are very slip-resistant even when wet. The only issue that you will notice is that in direct sunlight, the flooring will fade a bit.

You can use our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series as flooring for an indoor playground. If there isn't a concern about a child falling off the equipment due to it being very small, then these rubber floors would work great. They are slip-resistant even when wet and are very easy to clean and maintain. If a fall height is necessary, then we would recommend using one of our playground tiles or rubber mulch. These products have fall height ratings and will help to keep a child from getting seriously injured if they were to fall off any playground equipment while at play.

Looking to replace with something not glued or tacked down (carpet was free standing) and flow with an uneven cement basement floor. Can the rubber strips be placed down with double sided tape? Will the seams blend? If wet, will they dry?
You can install our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series with double-sided tape to keep them in place. When installed, your new rubber floor will appear virtually seamless. The higher the color percentage, the more seamless the floor will appear. Our rubber flooring is semi-porous and will dry fairly quickly after being wet. These rolls are very easy to clean and maintain and are mold and mildew resistant making them great for basements.

You can install our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series over a luxury vinyl floor. The reason that you can install it over a luxury vinyl floor, waterproof, or rigid core floor is due to these products having a wear layer that protects the actual vinyl. If you were to install this over a standard vinyl floor, we would recommend placing a plastic sheet between the vinyl and rubber. This will help to prevent any reaction from happening between the rubber and vinyl.

With a cold hard concrete floor, I am hoping the rubber flooring will be of help with the cold floor issue and my office chair rolling with ease.
An office chair with caster wheels will roll just fine on our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series. These rolls will also provide some insulation to your room. The insulation would not be as well as foam, but rubber flooring will help to mitigate the transfer of cold from your subfloor to your room.

Our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series rolls are 4 feet wide and can be cut to 15 feet long and cut to the 14-foot length to create the area rug you are looking for. You would need three rolls, and you can keep the rolls connected with some double-sided tape under the rolls.

We would recommend installing our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series or any rubber rolls over a hard flat surface. So, in this instance, we would recommend removing the carpet pad as well.

To make this flooring non-porous, we recommend using our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer. This will make it as a suitable floor in a commercial environment for most cities flooring codes. You can install our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series outdoors. Since this will be a permanent installation, we would recommend installing these rubber rolls with our Polyurethane Adhesive.

Was this helpful?We have a slate kitchen floor which we found that if a jar falls from a cabinet it will crack. To protect this new floor from cracking could this rubber runner be placed unglued down the middle of the elongated kitchen and protect the floor from cracks. Can the runner be wiped off in case of spills? Can it be trimmed? How thick is the rubber runner?
Our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series is very easy to clean and maintain. These rubber rolls are somewhat porous, but if a liquid is spilled on the floor, it will not go through the floor. These rolls can be cut to fit any space easily with a utility knife and a straight edge. This rubber roll is 8mm thick.

Our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series rolls are made with SBR rubber which is synthetic rubber. We can't guarantee that these rolls are latex free, but they would have very little to no latex in most orders. The product does have some smell to it which can be mitigated by mopping the flooring with a mild soap and water solution and letting it air dry. You may have to repeat this step a few times to get your desired result.
