Can this be installed over a nice hardwood floor and then when removed not damage the hardw?ood floor underneath. Wanting to use in a spare bedroom that dogs are kept in when not at home.

Our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series can be installed over an outdoor wooden deck. They are semi-porous, so some water may seep through, but this will help to diminish the amount of water seeping through greatly. To truly make this a water-resistant flooring surface, we recommend using our floor finish and sealer and using seam sealer glue at the seams of the rolls. This will ensure no water flows through.

You can install our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series over low pile carpet very easily. This would protect your carpet and would allow you to work out as hard as your heart desires.
Was this helpful?If 8mm is somewhat porous if used in a kitchen will it absorb fluids/spills or if you clean the spill up quickly will it still leave stain spots. Like a glass of red wine, spaghetti sauce, mustard spot, etc. You know those very stainable type things you find in any kitchen.
If you spill any liquids on our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series the liquid would sit on top of the flooring for a period. If you were to spill say red wine or spaghetti sauce, they would not stain the flooring. One thing you may notice with more solid substances, like spaghetti sauce, is that as you clean them up, there is potential for the sauce to get caught in the pores. When using our rubber flooring in a kitchen environment, we would recommend sealing the floor with our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer to truly prevent any foreign substances getting in the pores of the floor. Also, sealing the flooring would make it much easier to clean.

All of our 95% EPDM colors are Class 1/A fire rated. So look for any color that has the - 95% next to the color name. All other colors would be Class 3/C fire rated.

You can install our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series over an electric radiant heating floor system. The system will not damage the rubber in any way. Rubber is somewhat insulating, so you may not get the full effect of the system while in use compared to floors like tile.
Was this helpful?I have a customer with a hot yoga studio. Temperature is 105 Degrees 24-7, and Humidity is 40 % 24-7. Will your 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls 95% colors be guaranteed to stay glued down under these harsh conditions?
When gluing rubber to any subfloor, we recommend using a polyurethane adhesive. This adhesive is a moisture-curing adhesive with a strong bond, which is great for areas like hot yoga studios.

Cleaning our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series is. All you need to do is sweep or vacuum up any dirt and debris and then mop the flooring with a mild soap and water solution or our Rubber Floor Cleaner and Degreaser with a synthetic mop head. You will then let the floor air dry.

Our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series can be used as flooring on a rooftop deck. Our rubber rolls are not waterproof but are water-resistant. They are slightly porous, so some water may get under the rolls. These rolls are resistant to mold and mildew growth, so that is not something you will have to be concerned about. Rubber flooring is very slip-resistant and even more so when wet. The only thing you will have to worry about is when installed in direct sunlight, the rubber flooring will fade a bit.

Our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series can be loose laid without having to glue the seams at all. If you are looking to make the seams watertight, we do recommend using our Seam Sealer glue. Since there can be some variance in the width of our rubber rolls, if you have any gapping, our Seam Sealer glue can be used as well to fill in any gapping. The typical preferred method is to just cut the rolls so that the seams but up nice and tight appearing virtually seamless.

Our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series can be doubled to increase the thickness. But you don't have to do that. If you love the look of the rolls but want them thicker, then we would suggest ordering our 15mm Impact Rubber Rolls - Designer Series.
Was this helpful?I have a concrete garage floor and wondering if the 8mm rubber rolls would be a good choice and adhere well as I’m converting my garage into a gym.
Our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series are a great flooring option for any home garage gym. These rolls can be installed over any hard, flat surface and don't have to be adhered. You can park a car on these rubber rolls, but if your car does drip any oil, we recommend placing one of our Nitro Rolls or AutoFloorGuard's containment mats where you park your vehicle. The oil from your car can breakdown the flooring over time causing it to flake. If you did want to adhere the flooring in place, we recommend using double-sided tape or a polyurethane adhesive.

Our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series are not fully UV resistant. The 95% colors are more UV resistant and typically don't fade in direct sunlight, but the colors with less color typically will fade a bit.
Was this helpful?I am considering the 8mm flooring for an elevated outdoor covered deck. It would be laid over 3/4" plywood. I have been told that it wasn't a good idea. The claims are that such flooring absorbs heat, becoming very hot, off-gases and smells like old tires, cracks and breaks apart making it difficult to clean. To what degree are any of these claims accurate? If such flooring isn't appropriate can you recommend a better choice?
Our 8mm Strong Rubber Rolls - Designer Series can be installed outdoors. These rolls will get warm in direct sunlight but will be cooler than concrete in direct sunlight. Our rubber flooring does have a slight rubber smell, which outdoors, will dissipate very quickly. As the rubber warms up, it will not have any more of a rubber smell than when first installed. Some cheaper rubber flooring will have a lot of the issues that you describe here, but our Strong Rubber Rolls are a premium product and have been used in many outdoor applications all over the country with great success for years. So you will not have to look any further than this for your flooring needs.
