Can I park a car on Slate Flex Nitro tiles?
Yes. These flexible PVC tiles are rated for vehicle traffic and for use with a floor jack. They resist most vehicle and household chemicals. Tool chests and anything else on wheels or casters roll over them well, and the tiles have some give underfoot. Put protective pads under heavy stationary equipment or furniture so it does not mark the surface.

No. The tiles have a hidden interlock and need no adhesive. Lay the first tile in a corner, then press each new tile down firmly to snap the lock. Cut the edge pieces to fit with a utility knife or tile cutter. Leave a 1/2 inch gap at walls, columns, cabinets, and anything else fixed in place. Keep the tiles tight to each other. Flexible PVC expands and contracts with garage temperature swings, and that gap is what stops the edges lifting.

Each 12 inch by 24 inch tile covers 2 square feet, and tiles are sold one at a time. Divide your floor area in square feet by 2 for the base count. Add a few extra tiles for the cuts along the walls, and a few more as spares. Each tile is 3mm (0.118 inches) thick and weighs about 3 pounds.

Not always. These tiles are made in batches, and color can vary a little between batches. Black, dark gray, and light gray vary the most. A sample may differ slightly from the tiles you receive, and tiles bought months apart may not match. Order the whole floor at once, plus a few spare tiles for future repairs.

They have a semi-gloss finish and are rated slip resistant in dry conditions. That rating does not cover a wet floor, so wipe up spills promptly. For cleaning, sweep or vacuum loose dirt. Hose the floor off or damp mop it with mild soap and water for heavier grime. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive tools.

Was this helpful?When using the Slate Flex Nitro Tiles, what edging should I order to finish off the overhead garage door opening? How is the edging secured to the concrete floor? Do you have a H trim to separate a door opening from one garage to another?
