Installation Instructions

Installing your Outdoor Basketball Court Kit is a straightforward process:

  1. Prepare the Subfloor: Ensure the concrete pad or subfloor is clean and free of dirt, dust, grease, or other debris.

  2. Begin Installation: Start in one corner of the area, ensuring that the female side (loops) of the first tile faces away from the wall. This setup will make it easier to interlock the rest of the tiles.

  3. Lay Out the Tiles: Place the tiles in a perpendicular pattern, filling the entire area with whole tiles according to your chosen design.

  4. Trimming for Edges: When you reach the edges, walls, or obstacles, measure the area and cut the tiles to fit using a tile cutter or table saw. Leave a 3/4” gap between the tiles and any walls or court edges to allow for expansion and contraction.

  5. Edge Installation: If you purchased edge pieces, snap them into place after all tiles are laid.

  6. Game Line Application: To paint game lines, use painter's tape or 3M 2060 tape to outline the lines. Apply a two-part polyurethane paint for a durable finish.

Care and Maintenance

Keeping your Outdoor Basketball Court Tiles in top condition is easy:

  1. Routine Cleaning: Regularly vacuum or sweep the tiles to remove loose dust, dirt, and debris. This will keep the surface clean and safe for play.

  2. Deeper Cleaning: For a more thorough clean, use a damp mop with a mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive tools that could damage the tiles.

  3. Inspection: Periodically check the tiles for wear and tear. Replace any damaged tiles to maintain a smooth and safe playing surface.

By following these simple steps, your Outdoor Basketball Court Kit will remain in excellent condition, providing you with a high-quality, durable playing surface for years to come.

10-Year Warranty.

The main issue of installing on direct ground is that the tiles can sink into the ground after a rainstorm. The main issue of installing on direct ground is that the tiles can sink into the ground after a rainstorm. Also, since the ground is not totally stable, if you were to fall hard on the tiles, you can push the tiles into the ground. Another issue that can pop up is that the tiles will buckle due to not being able to expand and contract properly.

The typical concrete slab thickness is 4", but there is no standard thickness needed under our Outdoor Basketball Court Kits. The weight of the tiles in conjunction with the pegs on the bottom of the tiles will help them stay in place while at play. There would be no need to add any glue or tape under the tiles to keep them in place.

Our Outdoor Sports Tiles are made from a hard plastic polypropylene and can withstand the elements without being damaged, so they will be able to withstand the ice and snow. These tiles can be shoveled, snow blowed, etc. As for salt -it certainly won’t hurt the tiles, but it may leave a residue. You may want to pressure wash them off in spring.
