We have an 8.5' X 24" roof deck. It is a bituminous built-up roof over plywood sheathing. Can any of your deck tiles be installed over this? We would not be putting any heavy furniture or items on it. Thank you.

Was this helpful?I'm doing a rooftop deck over an EPDM rubber roof with AlphaGuard coating. I'm wondering if the Firestone bonding adhesive that I'm using to secure the rubber roof would be compatible with your Flagstone Rubber Pavers? Our summer heat is only moderate, but we do get long stretches of subzero winter temps, so I wanted to minimize shifting in this application with two open sides. Thanks in advance.
When adhering our Flagstone Rubber Pavers over any substrate, we recommend using a polyurethane adhesive to so secure it in place. You can find all of the polyurethane adhesives that we sell on our adhesives list page. There you will see a filter for polyurethane adhesive.

These tiles must be installed on even surfaces. We recommend evening out the subfloor, before installing. For stock-related questions, please call us directly.

Was this helpful?I want to use a jigsaw and/or a circular saw to cut. I see you suggest water to cool as an aid and slow speed, but I'm also interested in what kind of blade to use - how many teeth per inch?
You really can use any type of blade out there. There isn't really one that is best. The best saw for cutting rubber flooring is a bandsaw.

These tiles are stacked next to each other. You may apply our polyurethane adhesive to the bottom of the pavers and then place the pavers on the surface.
Was this helpful?Can pavers be used on a gentle slope with smooth ground? Also, will there be gaps between tile where soil could build up and allow weed seeds to germinate?
Our Flagstone Rubber Pavers can be installed on smooth ground that is slightly sloped. When installed over dirt, grass and weeds can grow between the tiles. To prevent this, we recommend placing weed fabric under the tiles to keep grass from growing.
Was this helpful?We're building an outside patio with a 625 sq. ft. second floor deck. Might there be a weight concern with the 6 lb. weight per tile + the weight of rain water that can be held in the porous tile?
We wouldn't recommend using these pavers on a second-floor patio since they are semi-permeable and would allow water to still flow to the balcony below. Our Nitro Rolls would work great for this use. These rolls are UV resistant and non-porous preventing water from penetrating to the balcony below.

These tiles will allow water and other liquids to flow through them, so they may not be the best at preventing oil leaks from going onto concrete.

You can install our Flagstone Rubber Pavers over a compacted rock base with sand on top.
Was this helpful?I'm looking for an alternative to interior hallway flooring in buildings that service apartments. We've had carpet and that was a poor choice due to spills and tenants dragging trash bags that split open, etc. The subsurface is concrete, how easy are these to clean? We cannot run water on them, but could mop up accidents. Can they be removed and replaced if damaged?
Flagstone Rubber Pavers are easy to clean. We do recommend hosing them down with water to clean but that's usually done when they're used outdoors and are more prone to getting dirty. If you're using these indoors, mopping would work. Yes, they can be easily removed and replaced.

You may loose lay them, without glueing them down. However, if you need a more permanent installation, our Polyurethane Adhesive would work best with these tiles.
Was this helpful?Will these provide a solid water-proof surface if applied on a 2nd story redwood deck that has a patio underneath? We want that lower patio to be protected from rain. If not these, would a different product of your work?
Our Flagstone Rubber Pavers are semi-permeable and would not be a waterproof surface over another patio. The only way to make these rubber pavers waterproof would be to add a sealer to the flooring. Our Rubber Floor Finish and Sealer would work, but you would need to reapply it quite often to ensure no water gets through the tiles. Also, we would recommend sealing the space between the tiles with our Seam Sealer glue.

The rubber floor ramps will not work with these pavers. You may see our Helios Deck Tiles, these tiles are great for patios and edge pieces are available for purchase as well.

Was this helpful?We have a crumbling patio and can’t afford a new one. Can we put these over it and, how are they installed so they don’t come up?
As long as the patio is still stable and if flat, you can place our Flagstone Rubber Pavers over it. When installing these rubber tiles, we recommend using a polyurethane adhesive if you are wanting to adhere them to the patio surface.

Our Flagstone Rubber Pavers are designed to be used outdoor, so they will have a little stronger rubber smell compared to most of the rubber flooring that is designed internal use, but you can use them indoors. To help mitigate the rubber smell, we do recommend mopping them with a mild soap and water solution with a synthetic mop head. You will also need to make sure there is ample ventilation in the space where the rubber pavers are being installed. You may have to repeat this process a few times to truly dissipate the smell.
