Installation Instructions

Outdoor Installation

1. Surface Preparation:

  • Clean and Level: Ensure the surface is level, clean, and dry. Suitable surfaces include concrete, asphalt, pressure-treated decking, and composite decking.
  • Dry Lay: Unroll the turf to check fit and alignment. Manufacturing details stamped on the backing will assist in determining fiber direction.

2. Adhesive Application:

  • Apply Adhesive: Use pressure-sensitive adhesive or double-sided tape on the surface.
  • Lay the Turf: Position the turf and apply a bead of seam sealer to all seams.
  • Roll: Use a 75 lb. weighted roller to press down the turf across its width and length.
  • Cure: Allow the installation to remain in dry conditions for 72 hours for proper adhesive curing.

Non-Infilled Synthetic Lawn Outdoor Installation

1. Area Preparation:

  • Remove Existing Material: Clear grasses, sods, mulches, etc., from the marked area. Leave space around trees and other obstacles.

2. Base Construction:

  • Compact Subgrade: Compact the native soil/subgrade if necessary.
  • Add Base: Spread a 3” thick layer of crushed rock, level it with a landscaping rake, and compact with a hand tamper. Let it dry and check for inconsistencies.

3. Lay Turf:

  • Position Turf: Roll the synthetic turf on top of the prepared base, ensuring the fibers' grain runs in the same direction if using multiple rolls.
  • Trim Edges: Cut and trim the turf to fit the area, especially around borders.

4. Gluing the Seam:

  • Prepare Seams: Fold the adjacent trimmed edges of two turf rolls about 2’ apart along the seam length.
  • Apply Seaming Tape: Roll out and apply adhesive with a 1/8” trowel. Center the tape and press the turf edges onto it, ensuring no tape is visible and the joint is seamless.
  • Weight and Cure: Add weight to the seams and allow the adhesive to cure overnight.

5. Secure and Brush:

  • Stake Down: Use landscape spikes to secure the turf along the perimeter every 3’.
  • Brush: Use a stiff-bristled broom to lift matted fibers. Sand infill is optional.

Indoor Installation

1. Surface Preparation:

  • Clean and Level: Ensure the surface is level, clean, and dry. Suitable surfaces include concrete, dusting, powdering concrete, gypcrete, pressure-treated decking, wood, or backer board.
  • Dry Lay: Unroll the turf to check fit and alignment. Manufacturing details stamped on the backing will assist in determining fiber direction.

2. Adhesive Application:

  • Apply Adhesive: Use adhesive or double-sided tape on the surface.

Maintenance

1. General Cleaning:

  • Sweeping: Periodically sweep loose dirt, dust, and debris from the turf surface.

2. Stains and Blemishes:

  • Clean: Use a warm water solution with household detergent. Avoid bleach.

3. Animal Urine:

  • Clean: Use a mixture of white distilled vinegar and water. Flush thoroughly and vacuum any excess solution.

4. Chewing Gum:

  • Remove: Use dry ice or refrigerant packets to freeze and remove gum.

5. Matted Turf:

  • Brush: Use a synthetic brush to lift matted fibers. Avoid metal or wire-bristled brushes.
