Installation
Installation of Swisstrax Vinyltrax Tiles typically includes:
- Clean your sub floor so that it is free of all dirt, dust, grease, or other foreign material. When installing the hard plastic tiles, we recommend starting in the front left corner of the room and working your way out from there.
- Make sure the female side (loops) of the tile is facing away from the wall. After filling the left wall with tiles and the adjacent wall, proceed to fill the rest of the room with whole tiles.
- When you come up to a wall or object, don’t worry. Just measure the area and cut the tiles with a tile cutter or a power saw with a fine-toothed blade and put the trimmed tiles into place.
- When trimming the tiles into place, make sure you leave about a 3/4” space between the tiles and the wall or obstruction. Once the tiles are in place, you can then snap in the edge pieces, if you purchased them.

How does this hold up in the garage? Does it get slippery when wet?
You can install the Vinyltrax Tiles in a garage. Since the vinyl top is inserted into the tile, it will not come unattached when driving in and out of your garage or when turning your wheel like other vinyl topped garage tiles. With the top surface being smooth, these tiles would be a little slippery when wet.
Was this helpful?Would these a good option to use as a temporary dance floor in a private events setting? Would they be able to withstand the wear of being used for dancing and being taken apart and put back together multiple times?
Our Vinyltrax Tiles feature a commercial grade vinyl top that is perfect as a temporary dance floor surface. These tiles are very durable and can be installed and uninstalled several times without being damaged.

I used the tiles to create an area where my girls could practice dance. The tiles were easy to install and are a good quality. Fortunately the only cutting I had to do were the plastic connectors. I had read before I purchased in the instructions that the tiles could be cut using a utility knife I am not so sure that would have worked that well. I did install the tiles over carpet but put down 1/2 plywood pieces which worked great if you do not want to remove carpet to install. Installing on the carpet would not have worked a hard service is needed. My kids love this new space I am definitely happy with the purchase.
