Types of Gym Floor Covers
Rolls
Gym floor cover rolls are large, heavy-duty sheets that can be unrolled and rolled back up for easy installation and storage. There are two kinds of rolls – vinyl and carpet. Vinyl roll covers are anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and resistant to mildew and rot. Carpet-topped rolls are extremely lightweight, durable, and stain-resistant, and are well-suited for more formal events.
Gymnasium floor tarps come in different colors and lengths, so you can really customize them to match your space. They are also custom cut to perfectly fit the size of your gymnasium for the easiest floor protection.
Rolls are the most popular option because they’re easy to install. All you have to do is roll them out from the storage rack. Floor rolls like this are great for quickly and easily covering larger spaces. They also are the easiest to clean.
Tiles
Our gym floor cover tiles are large format, carpet-topped tiles. These high-quality tiles can be installed by simply laying them out adjacent to each other in order to cover the desired area.
While it takes a little more time than spreading out vinyl covers, you do get the benefit of a more customizable surface.
Tiles are great floor protectors if you have a smaller space to cover, or if you want a more formal look to your event. Because they are more versatile, you can use them to create custom protected areas like floor runners, area rugs, and more.
Carpet Fiber
Carpet adds a more formal touch to any event, even when it’s set in your gymnasium. Gym floor cover carpet tiles are very durable and made from a variety of fibers. No matter what you pick, they all clean easily with vacuuming or, for anything fmore stubborn, a hot water extraction cleaning machine.
Here are your options:
Polypropylene: This is a tough fiber. It’s colorfast and resistant to staining, mildew, abrasion, and sunlight. Polypropylene can be hard to clean if a stain does set and does not do well with oil-based agents. It is used in commercial-grade carpet.
Polyethylene: Polyethylene is a softer fiber than polypropylene. It’s also eco-friendly, made from recycled plastics and even glass bottles. This is the least abrasive fiber, and it does not fade in direct sunlight.
Polyester: Polyester is very durable and has high color retention. This fiber is also very resistant to water and highly stain resistant.

Storage racks: If you’re buying vinyl gym floor rolls, you’re going to want a storage rack. They make it simple and easy to install gym floor covers. They can hold up to 10 rolls and 3,600 lbs. Premium storage racks come with safety leg extenders to stabilize the racks and keep them from falling over.
Installation Accessories
Electric power winder: This electric power winder attaches to storage racks and helps unroll and roll up vinyl gym floor covers. It helps cut down on installation and removal time. Hand cranks come with the storage racks, but they can be pretty laborious. An electric power winder is not!
Vinyl floor tape and dispensers: To be honest, covering seams with a handheld tape dispenser takes forever. That’s why we also offer a walk-behind tape dispenser. You’ll spend less time on your hands and knees on the floor, and more time simply walking and taping.
