• Q: I am installing courage carpet pad in a small room--it has a wood floor. Should I use staples? if yes, what size and kind? Thank you.

  A: The padding can be either stapled or glued directly to the subfloor. If you choose to staple the padding to the subfloor, staple it every six inches.
