Is the light oak textured like the onyx or smooth like the maple?
Our Light Oak Textured Premium Soft Wood Tiles are textured like our Onyx colored tiles. The only colors that are smooth are our Light Oak and Dark Oak tiles.

Our 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles have been used in homes with dogs. Since these tiles do have a pattern film on top, dogs nails can scratch it over time.
Was this helpful?I'm installing the soft wood tiles in a "she shed" which has OSB for flooring. It will have light use, but does it need an underlayment since it is a shed and the OSB has a rougher texture than residential flooring
We recommend using an underlayment to protect the Premium Soft Wood Foam Tiles from rough ground textures. We also recommend a vapor barrier to prevent any water damage that may come up from the ground.

Our Premium Soft Wood Tiles can withstand temperatures as high as 140°F without melting or curling. So these tiles will work just fine installed over radiant heated floors

Our Premium Soft Wood Tiles are safe to use in all the rooms of your home. While we recommend these for all rooms, we do not recommend using them under a washer or dryer, as heavy machinery can puncture the mats. Was this helpful?Will this flooring shrink in outdoor heat? If I place it in an outdoor screened-in porch?
Our Premium Soft Wood Tiles will not shrink in the outdoor heat. These tiles are made with non-porous EVA foam and can actually expand in the outdoor heat. When cold, they can shrink. When installing our interlocking foam tiles, we recommend that you leave a perimeter gap of the thickness of the floor. Our Soft Wood Tiles can be installed in an outdoor screened-in porch and have been successfully. These foam tiles are mold and mildew resistant, moisture-resistant, and very easy to clean and install. The only thing you may notice is that in direct sunlight, the tiles may fade. To prevent this, we recommend placing rugs over the tiles, or if they become too faded, just pull up the damaged tiles and replace.

All colors in our Premium Soft Wood Tiles have a slight texture, but the surface does not impede any movements. We don't recommend using these as flooring for Zumba. If you are looking for a wood-looking floor for Zumba, we recommend using our Impact Rolls - Wood Series.

We don't recommend jump roping on these tiles as they are made of foam and could be damaged by the rope. They are also soft, so you won't have as strong of a base on these tiles. If you are looking for a wood-looking product for jump rope training, we recommend using our Impact Rolls - Wood Series as a great option.

Was this helpful?I have the foam mats over commercial grade low carpet, and they slip just a bit; I've tried putting nonskid gripper rug things underneath, but it doesn't quite do it. Any suggestions?
To keep our 5/8" Premium Soft Wood Tiles from slipping over carpet, we recommend using our Double Sided Carpet Tape. This will be the best solution to keep them in place.

Yes, these tiles will help create a soft surface that protects your floor beneath from the weight of the machines. Depending on the weight of the machines you may want to check from time to time and ensure that the impact from running and exercising hasn't caused the tiles to collapse too much.
Was this helpful?I'm looking for something to put over a section of my hardwood floor when I do HIIT workouts and then hide away in a closet afterwards. Will the tiles stay in place without being anchored or would I need a non-slip mat underneath? How durable are the puzzle edges in terms of repeated assembly/disassembly?
White the Premium Soft Wood Tiles are very durable and meant to be assembled and disassembled often, we do not suggest these tiles for HIIT workouts. The quick lateral movement of HIIT workouts can pull the tiles apart. We often suggest using one of our rubber mats or Home Wrestling Mats for HIIT workouts.

Yes, these tiles could be used on grass as long as it was level enough and has been cut. The integrity of the interlocked surface is lessened over uneven surfaces. However this could make a great outdoor kit.
Was this helpful?I'm looking at these rubber tiles for my mancave for gaming and entertainment, and I was just wondering if these tiles can hold heavy things for a very long time, say a gaming desk or a couch for years, or will it just make dents and possibly break or be damaged? Also, if that does happen, what is the weight limit of these tiles, and for how long? Thank you:)
Premium Soft Wood Tiles are great for a room like this. Large heavy equipment or furniture will leave a permanent indent when left on these tiles for long enough. However the tiles can easily be replaced if needed. These tiles don't have a specific weight limit.

These tiles would not be the best use under a Peleton or Spin Bike because they would not create a stable side-to-side surface. You would be better off with our 3/8 Impact Tiles or a completely rubber tile. Those would both cover a hard surface as well as absorb some noise from radiating through your home.

Was this helpful?Will Gym equipment (like a Bowflex machine) do well on top of soft wood tiles?
Premium Soft Wood tiles are great at supporting gym equipment. The workout equipment will likely leave an indentation in the surface of the tile that is permanent because of the weight of a Bowflex. However you can choose to insert furniture sliders under the equipment to disperse the weight, or if you ever wish to remove the equipment you can simply replace the indented tiles.
