Luxury Vinyl tiles and planks are easy to keep clean and maintain. Maintenance of the floor typically includes:
  • Always use plywood or other boards when moving heavy objects across the floor to avoid scratching of the floor surface.
  • Use felt pads under chair and furniture legs to prevent scratching of the floor surface.
  • Place walk off door mats at all entrances and doorways to collect debris from shoes such as dirt, rocks, and moisture, from being tracked in and onto your new floors.
  • Avoid using rubber backed area rugs or floor mats as they can stain the flooring surface over time.
  • Use non-staining floor protectors underneath heavy furniture, chairs, and tables.
  • Daily or weekly vacuuming or dust mopping to remove dirt, grit, dust etc. Do not use treated dust mops.
  • When mopping, use a damp and never a wet mop.
  • Clean up spill immediately to prevent damage to the floor.
Vinyltrax tiles are easy to install. Installation of these floor tiles typically includes:
  • Clean your sub floor so that it is free of all dirt, dust, grease, or other foreign material.
  • When installing the Vinyltrax, we recommend starting in the front left corner of the room and working your way out from there.
  • Make sure the female side (loops) of the tile is facing away from the wall.
  • After filling the left wall with tiles and the adjacent wall, proceed to fill the rest of the room with whole tiles.
  • When you come up to a wall or object, don’t worry. Just measure the area and cut the tiles with a sharp utility knife and put the trimmed tiles into place.
  • When trimming the tiles into place, make sure you leave about a 3/4” space between the tiles and the wall or obstruction.

Don't see what you're looking for?
Would these a good option to use as a temporary dance floor in a private events setting? Would they be able to withstand the wear of being used for dancing and being taken apart and put back together multiple times?
CDM
Our Vinyltrax Tiles feature a commercial grade vinyl top that is perfect as a temporary dance floor surface. These tiles are very durable and can be installed and uninstalled several times without being damaged.
How does this hold up in the garage? Does it get slippery when wet?
Bob
You can install the Vinyltrax Tiles in a garage. Since the vinyl top is inserted into the tile, it will not come unattached when driving in and out of your garage or when turning your wheel like other vinyl topped garage tiles. With the top surface being smooth, these tiles would be a little slippery when wet.
Can it be installed over carpet?
Our Vinyltrax Tiles can be installed over any hard, flat surface like concrete, asphalt, or other flooring surfaces, so these tiles can be easily installed over low pile commercial carpet. If installing them over high pile, residential carpet with a thick pad, we would recommend placing plywood over the carpet first. The issue that you will run into when installing over thick, padded carpet is that the tiles may separate when the pad underneath depresses, creating a tripping hazard.
