Our 7mm Smooth Flex Tiles are very easy to maintain. Cleaning of these flex tiles typically includes:
  • Sweeping any loose dirt, dust, or debris from the vinyl floor tiles when necessary.
  • Periodic damp mopping of the tiles with a mild soap and water solution. Some common soaps often used are dish detergents and tide laundry detergent.

Note: This is not a stain proof product. Street tar can cause staining to light colored tiles and in most instances this staining can be remedied with a cleaner called Purple Power. If you have performance tires, staining can occur with light colored tiles. In most instances this may not be remedied with a cleaner. If the staining on your floor does not dissipate, please contact our dedicated Customer Service team at 800-613-0996 who can further assist you.

Installation of interlocking tiles is very simple and typically done by the consumer. Typical installation of these tiles is as follows:
  • First, clean your sub floor so it is free of all dirt, grease or debris.
  • Snap a chalk line on the sub floor 20” from one wall in your room. Snap another chalk line on the subfloor 20” from an adjacent wall. You should now have a pair of perpendicular lines making an approximate 90-degree angle.
  • Begin laying the interlocking tiles along the chalk lines, snapping the locks together as you go.
  • Leave the perimeter of the room open until the field is installed.
  • After the field is covered, go back and cut in lines along the walls in the room. Leaving a gap at the wall roughly the thickness of tiles being used is recommended to account for expansion and contraction of the floor tiles in varied temperature ranges.

  • Edging Installation Instructions
  • Insert the tile into the groove.
  • Next cut the transition strip to fit the desired area. You can adhere it to the subfloor if desired with a pressure sensitive adhesive.
Note: When piecing interlocking tiles together, adhesives are usually not used since the weight of the locked together product is usually enough to keep the floor tiles from moving. However, if you do experience movement and would like to ensure that the tiles do not slide at all, some double-sided tape or mat tape can be used around the perimeter of the installation to prevent any movement.

Would these tiles be an ideal choice for a garage floor where floor jacks may frequently be used? The Q/A on the Slate tiles said it could leave an indent even though they're marked as floor jack safe.
A floor jack can be used n our 7mm Smooth Flex Tiles successfully. There is potential for the floor jack to leave an indentation where it is used, but this will not affect the integrity of the floor.
I have 3,200 lb car that I move around my garage with four Go Jack dollies. Will your flooring be smooth enough to allow the dollies to work?
You would be able to use Go Jack Dollies on our 7mm Smooth Flex Tiles. These tiles are commercial grade tiles and have a weight capacity of 500 lbs per square inch.
Are these slippery if wet if used in garage. Thanks
Flex tiles are naturally slip resistant but not slip proof. Be mindful to clean up spills / messes as soon as possible.
Can a commercial floor scrubber be used on Flex Tiles?
Scott Jobe
How would these do in a woodworking shop - with heavy machinery (on rolling bases)? My table saw is 800 lbs on a mobile base. Also, would these do well with glue or paint spills?
This would be a fine use for the tiles. Indentations typically do come out of flexible tiles as they are resilient, however heavy weight does have the potential to leave permanent indentations if the weight is focused enough. Flex tiles are stain resistant but not stainproof.
Will these tiles be slippery when wet. I want to put them in a shower??
Becky Wright
This would not be a suitable application.
Do these tiles have a texture to them?
Our 7mm Smooth Flex Tiles do have a slight texture to them.

Certainly not inexpensive, but considering it looks like a wonderful permanent solution to the concrete garage floor peeled paint look, I'm glad I installed it.

Totally awesome!!!... as long as you plan correctly. I did some extensive measurements and did not use the web site to plan the layout as I suspected there would be too much waste - and there would have been. The product itself is excellent and exceeded my expectations. Very durable and doesn't give way to a heavy load. To fill, etch and seal the floor would have cost almost 2X what I paid for this solution. As long as you have a floor that doesn't have visible waves, this product will go down very easily with a rubber mallet to connect the tabs - but I will warn that the tiles that need to be cut to fit CANNOT be cut with a utility knife, but can VERY EASILY be cut with a table saw using a finish blade. Total install time (including cutting to fit edge tiles) was approx. 3.5 hrs for a 380 sq' garage. Would strongly recommend using this product as an alternative to shelling out big bucks for a sealer that will chip when you drop something on it. I have a raised area (approx. 4″) for washing machine/dryer and was able to cut some of the left over tile and apply to the vertical surface using liquid nails to make a very nice return (overlapped the tile on the raised are with the vertical tile)
