Dance interlocking tiles are easy to maintain. Cleaning of these multi-use tiles typically includes:
  • Vacuuming or sweeping any loose crumbs, dust, or debris from the Practice Dance Tiles when necessary.
  • Hose off or damp mop the floor tiles with a mild soap and water mixture for tough or caked on dirt and/or stains.
Tap Dance Tiles are easy to install. Installation of these floor tiles typically includes:
  • Clean your sub floor so that it is free of all dirt, dust, grease, or other foreign material.
  • When installing the tiles, we recommend starting in the front left corner of the room and working your way out from there.
  • Make sure the female side (loops) of the tile is facing away from the wall.
  • After filling the left wall with tiles and the adjacent wall, proceed to fill the rest of the room with whole tiles.
  • When you come up to a wall or object, don’t worry. Just measure the area and cut the tiles with a sharp utility knife and put the trimmed tiles into place.
  • When trimming the tiles into place, make sure you leave about a 3/4” space between the tiles and the wall or obstruction.
  • Once the tiles are in place, you can then snap in the edge pieces, if you purchased them.

Can these be installed over carpet? I would like to do a dance floor for my daughters in a spare room But do not want to remove the carpeting
Elizabeth
These tiles can be installed over carpet with a sturdy, flat subfloor like a sheet of plywood or our dance subfloor tiles in between the carpet and the tiles.
can these floors go outside?
Amanda
They can be used outdoors temporarily but they are not meant to be outside for long periods of time as they are not weather resistant.
Would this be good placed on carpet for pointe work?
Gracelyn
These tiles would be good for pointe work. These tiles can be installed over carpet with a sturdy, flat subfloor like a sheet of plywood or our dance subfloor tiles in between the carpet and the tiles.
Can this floor be easily put down and taken back up or is it meant to be put down and stay put? I would be looking at getting a 5x5 or 6x6. This would be placed on top of hardwood floors for dance practice. Also, without Marley, will this floor be too slippery for pointe?
These tiles can be installed and taken up with care. We have had our customers use these tiles for pointe work. We would recommend putting a foam subfloor between your hardwood floors and the bottom of the dance tiles.
Can these tiles be used as sub flooring with Marley top flooring for pointe work, if placed over cement flooring in a basement?
Kristy
That would be a wonderful application.
Can these tiles be used on laminate floor with out need for subfloor tiles? And how is the sound quality for tap?
Donna Richards
You can, we'd recommend putting the tiles on top of a rug so that they don't scratch your laminate floors. Our customers love these tiles for tap.
Can I use these tiles on top of cement and then add Marley flooring for all dance styles? Or do you need the foam cushion as well?
Yes, you can do this. You can add foam cushion if you'd like.
Can flat top dance tiles be placed directly on hardwood floor and top with marley for dance floor?
Yes you can do that but the tiles are hard underneath so you may prefer adding some padded protection between the tiles and your hardwood.
Is this good for pointe under marley over 3/8” subfloor?
Yes, that would be suitale.
I want to use these tap tiles for tap at home. I have solid wood floors. Can you recommend which subfloor I should get to put under the tiles?
Candice
If you are looking for a subfloor to put under our Tap Dance Tiles, we would recommend using our Home Dance Subfloor Tiles in either 3/8" or 3/4".
Can the tiles be used on a garage floor, allowing a car to park on top when not used?
Yes, you can use these tiles as a garage floor and park a car on top of them.

Don't recommend for dancing if you roll/slide
Anonymous from 98103 wrote...
I do have this on carpet (low pile). I also have a tension pole mounted in the middle. There's significant gapping b/c of that, but even on the far edges, there are small gaps between the tiles where your toenail or clothing can get caught, so I do not recommend. The surface is also slightly ″sticky?″ not a good type of slide. Finally, be aware that if you order edging, you have to calculate that the corners are different (you order one ″corner edge″ per corner). I ordered 2 per corner. And when I tried to contact customer service to exchange and to add to my order (twice through chat, twice through email, and 3 times per phone), I got no response.
