Vinyl rolls are easy to clean and maintain. Cleaning of this flooring typically includes:
  • Sweeping or vacuuming any loose crumbs, dust, or debris from the floor when necessary.
  • Light damp mopping to remove light staining or spills. Remove scuffs and excessive soil by carefully scrubbing.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, as discoloration may occur. We recommend closing blinds or drapes during peak sunlight hours to prolong the life of the floor.
Note: This is not a stainproof product. Leaving certain harsh chemicals or spills on the floor for an extended time may cause some staining and/or damage. Always clean up a spill immediately to reduce the chance of staining or other damage to your flooring.
When installing rolled vinyl dance flooring, it is recommended that you use some kind of adhesive to prevent the rolls from moving around or sliding apart between adjacent rolls. The most common methods of adhering Marley dance floors to the subfloor are as follows.

A: Double Sided Tape Installation
  1. Clean the subfloor so it’s free of all dust, dirt, and debris.
  2. Loose lay your rolls out as they should sit after installation. Let the rolls relax for up to 24-48 hours to ensure proper installation of your new flooring.
  3. Make any necessary cuts to the rolls to fit them into the room using a Straightedge and a Utility Knife with a fresh blade. We recommend leaving a 1/4" gap around the rolls to account for expansion and contraction.
  4. Apply double sided carpet tape to the underside of each roll around the perimeters, then place the vinyl rolls back into position on top of the double sided tape. You can also use mat tape to secure rolls to the floor from the top, and join multiple rolls together.
  5. Install shiny side down, matte side up. The dance surface (top) is textured slightly, called calendaring which looks like tiny goosebumps. Place vinyl rolls back into position on top of the double-sided tape.

B: Glue Installation
  1. First clean your subfloor so it’s free of all dirt, dust, and debris. When gluing your flooring down, it’s also recommended that the subfloor is free of any moisture.
We recommend leaving a gap around the rolls roughly the thickness of the rolls being used to account for expansion and contraction.
  4. Install shiny side down, matte side up. The dance surface (top) is textured slightly, called calendaring which looks like tiny goosebumps.
  5. Roll up the rolls at one end of the room. Put down a 10' long light layer of adhesive and unroll 10' of the flooring into the adhesive at a time.
  6. Repeat this step for every 10’ of roll length until the entire roll has been unrolled into its desired position.
  7. After all the rolls have been glued down, use a 100-Lb. roller on the floor to guarantee good adherence to the subfloor. If a roller is not available, walking on the flooring in small choppy steps may also work.

Don't see what you're looking for?
What kind of sub flooring is needed to put under the adagio? I have a concrete surface, and am wondering if just the square sub tiles will be good enough or if there needs to be one more layer underneath?
Callie
We offer several suitable subfloor options for our dance flooring. Please see our Home Dance Subfloor tiles for your needs.
We are looking for something to put over our hardwood floors to keep our tappers from damaging them. Is this product suitable to put over our floors once a week just for the tap class?
Anna
These rolls are approved for tap use.
Is there a top-side to the Adagio roll?
Pam
Install shiny side down, matte side up. The dance surface (top) is textured slightly, called calendaring which looks like tiny goosebumps.
Can Adagio flooring go directly on top of plywood?
For comfort, we recommend putting down a subfloor of some sort, but you certainly can install these rolls over plywood.
can this floor be installed over a floating laminate floor that is warped in places and be level?
rachel
These dance floor rolls are thin, any subfloor imperfections will telegraph through the floor.
can the adagio roll be taped to carpet - very flat and no pile for temporary use? what is the best tape that wont destroy carpet?
sandra
We usually recommend taping to a hard surface, we have no recommendation for taping to carpet at this time.
i am lookinf for a dance floor that can be permanently installed and weld at all seems
Toni Gonzalez
Adagio rolls can be installed permanently and also welded at the seams.
Do I need carpet tape or dance tape for adagio roll Installation? What is the difference?
Carpet tape is double sided and is installed below the roll so that you don't see the tape as well as keeping the roll in place. Dance tape is single sided adhesive and can be used to either tape 2 rolls together or tape the roll down to the subfloor.
Can these floors be used for hard shoes? Irish dance
CAROL
Yes this product is approved for use with hard shoes.
what side goes up, the matte finish or shiny?
Install shiny side down, matte side up. The dance surface (top) is textured slightly, called calendaring which looks like tiny goosebumps.
Is this floor good for pointe?
Yes you can use these rolls for pointe.
Can we use these rolls for Pointe and on Laminate flooring?
Kaitlin Briones
Yes, that would be suitable.
Can this be directly applied to a standard classroom floor (tile) without a subfloor? Is intended for a black box theatre with light dancing.
Jonathan Mesisca
We would recommend using a proper subfloor.
Can this floor be used on a temporary basis? i.e., roll it out for class/practice and then roll it back up when not in use?
Yes, absolutely.
Can I put it over a cement floor in garage?
We really recommend using a dance subfloor between the roll and your concrete to help limit potential of injuries.

  My wife says its perfect
Verified Purchase
Chris K. from Pine Bluff, AR wrote...
I purchased some 8mm eco rolls from you as well. The room is a dual purpose room inside a new building on our property that is about 13' wide and 23' deep. I installed floor to ceiling mirrors on 1 wall and the room is intended to be used as both an exercise room and studio area for my wife. She has had her own studio for well over 20 years and I wanted her to have a place where she could practice a bit while she was at home if she felt the urge or need. You will notice in the pictures I send there are a couple custom made ballet barre' on the walls as well. So I used the 8mm rolls as the base on the floor. Any excess I cut off I use as an extra mat for exercising. Went down pretty easy with the help of a second body. I did use your double-sided tape on these seams just in case. I used the Adagio flooring on roughly 1/2 the area. The full 13' wide and about 11' deep. It took a few days for it to relax but now looks great. My wife says its perfect and works very well with the 8mm rubber under it as the base.
