I read you don't recommend using rubber over carpet. I don't have the budget to have someone remove a portion of our basement carpet to put these mats down. What are the reasons you don't recommend just placing the mats on the carpet?

Our 3/8" Heavy Duty Rubber Rolls can be installed over carpet. As long as that carpet is a low pile or commercial carpet. The rolls can still be placed over a high pile carpet, but due to the carpet pad underneath, you may get separation of the rolls which can cause a tripping hazard.
