Reactive Tiles are easy to clean and maintain. Maintenance of this recycled rubber flooring tile typically includes:

  • Vacuuming any loose dust, dirt, or debris from the rubber surface when necessary.
  • Occasional damp mopping of the rubber tiles with a mild soap and water mixture. Some soaps commonly used include Dawn dish detergent and/or Tide laundry detergent.
Note: Do not use any solvent or oil style cleaners such as Pinesol, Lysol, Murphy’s Oil Soap, WD40, paint thinner, etc. since these types of cleaners will break down the flooring over time.

Installation of interlocking tiles is very simple and typically done by the consumer. Typical installation of these tiles is as follows:
  • First, clean your sub floor so it is free of all dirt, grease or debris.
  • Snap a chalk line on the sub floor 28.5” from one wall in your room. Snap another chalk line on the subfloor 28.5” from an adjacent wall. You should now have a pair of perpendicular lines making an approximate 90-degree angle.
  • Begin laying the interlocking tiles along the chalk lines, snapping the locks together as you go.
  • Leave the perimeter of the room open until the field is installed.
  • After the field is covered, go back and cut in lines along the walls in the room. Leaving a gap at the wall roughly the thickness of tiles being used is recommended to account for expansion and contraction of the floor tiles in varied temperature ranges.
Note: When piecing interlocking tiles together, adhesives are usually not used since the weight of the locked together product is usually enough to keep the floor tiles from moving. However, if you do experience movement and would like to ensure that the tiles do not slide at all, some double-sided tape or mat tape can be used around the perimeter of the installation to prevent any movement.

Customer Questions & Answers

Don't see what you're looking for?
How easy are these tiles to clean? Are they waterproof? Any water leakage between tiles when cleaning?
Our 3/8" Reactive Rubber Tiles are very easy to clean and maintain with a synthetic mop and mild soap and water solution. The tiles are not waterproof, but they are water resistant. When cleaning, if there is some separation between the tiles, there would be some leakage. If the tiles are installed properly, and there is no separation between the tiles, then water would not leak between the tiles.
I would like to know the dimensions of the Rubber Floor Ramps that are available as an accessory to the 3/8" Reactive Rubber Tiles. Thanks.
The width of the Rubber Floor Ramp is 3" and the length is 12'.
Are there any chemicals used in the flooring? And if so what kind?
Our 3/8" Reactive Rubber Tiles are made with recycled rubber tiles and EPDM virgin rubber color chips. A polyurethane adhesive is used to hold the tiles together. There are no hazardous chemicals used to make these tiles, and the only allergen that may be present is latex. Since these tiles are made of recycled rubber, the amount of latex in our tiles is very minute and would not make a person react in most instances when in contact with the flooring.
Are these tiles appropriate for impact activities such as dance aerobics and jumping rope? We are looking for gym flooring that provides cushion for the joints during high impact workouts. If there is a better product please recommend - Thanks!
Our 3/8" Reactive Rubber Tiles are perfect for high impact workouts such as aerobics and jumping rope. These tiles are very shock absorbent and will help to protect your joints more than concrete or asphalt when conducting these exercises.
Does the Sport-lock tile come with the detachable borders as the reactive tiles do?
The 3/8" Sport-Lock Rubber Tiles do come with 2-detachable borders per tile so that you can turn any tile into a corner, border, or center tile, just like the Reactive Rubber Tiles. The only differences between the two tiles are the size of the tiles and colors offered.

Your product met all of my expectations. Almost no odor, easy assembly and application. A quality product in every way. Only had to cut a very few pieces. Very heavy; made carrying down basement a chore. Well worth investment.

This product was very easy to install. I put it down on top of concrete using double-sided carpet tape. It laid down nicely and fit together well. My only comment is there is not a lot of cushion with this floor. There is a mild rubber smell, but I am sure it will go away soon.

The 36 tiles came by FedEx freight laid them out in one of the garage stalls for about 2 weeks, then moved them to the porch and stacked them again. When I finally got around to laying them the hardest part was figuring out which edge pieces would line up. Installed fairly easy if you rocked each tab into place. Cutting with a new razor blade was no harder than cutting drywall. Odor was minimal and seems to have gone away after about two weeks. The only bad thing is now I have a bunch of edge pieces that I don't know what to do with.
