I'm an interior designer in Elmhurst and we flip homes as well. There area a lot of factors that go into my choices of wood or wood like flooring. I had been looking for a laminate that was really low priced but very authentic yet somewhat modern. Because you would never get your money back on a small cape cod with real wood floors which to me these days -is overly marked up. And with real wood you don't get these special more sophisticated finishes unless you pay a fortune. I wanted the wide plank look with a micro chamfer and could not afford this same look in wood-and this is key. This floor-I can tell you is so gorgeous in person. And where the knots are , catches this sheer gray wash which is extremely subtle but noted. The floors also have dents, and real imprinted characteristics that others brands did not have. I canvassed many others for for 4.00 a square foot which did not. The flooring was 30% at the time and so I believe I got it for about 1.31 a square foot. The shipping was shocking but I had done a ton of research and shopping and thought this was the best I'd seen out there. I was more impressed with the flooring in person and so relieved when I saw it down. Even my neighbor came by and could not believe it was laminate. It doesn't look like laminate, doesn't sound like it . However I paid a lot more by getting the 4mm felt under it which is KEY and keeps your house more quiet and peaceful sounding. And of course putting it over stiff quality new plywood instead of over planks is also key. We like the floor so much that we plan to put in on the stair treads. The only thing I regretted about the order is the cost of shipping which was not avoidable. I hope #MegaClic doesn't get rid of this line-the vintage white oak b/c its their nicest work yet. I attached a close up pic of it with the felt underneath so ppl can see what it really looks like close up.
