Our New Basement Floor - The Best Decision We Made
Self-installed in Basement
Emily from Portland, Oregon wrote...
Completed a basement remodel for a home business. What to put on the floor?!? We had much to consider: rainy Portland, wanted something extremely durable, easy to clean, quiet and soft. Could not find anything that fit our needs. Started to notice my gym's flooring and looked online for rubber flooring. We had a very difficult time trying to decide on the color. Because the ceilings are low, we did not want a dark floor and a dark room. We loved the Designer Series Strong Rubber, 8mm, in the tan color. The price held us back a bit. We could not find anything comparable. So, we went ahead with our order, but were still worried if we would like it. My husband installed the flooring. It was very easy for him to do. It totally transformed our room. Our contractors kept telling us, the floor was beautiful and was the ″STAR″ of the remodel. They marveled at how you couldn't even see the seams! I found that odd, since they didn't praise anything they did! My customers all ask, ″What is this flooring?″ ″It is REALLY nice!″ This floor never looks dirty! People track in dirt and little rocks, kids have eaten in there and left crumbs all over. But, you never see anything on the floor. The seams are really tight and the tiles are heavy, so dirt doesn't stick between the tiles. We have accidentally dropped heavy tools on the floor and there are no nicks or dents! Couple of things to think about. We put masking tape on the floor, before we painted the woodwork. It left darker gummy marks in some areas. We can't get it off (never did call the company to find a solution). Thankfully we bought extra tiles. Do not put masking tape on the floor! Also, the plywood underneath the tiles, was not perfectly flat. When we walked on the rubber tiles we could feel raised spots. We removed the tiles and scraped down the floor in those areas. The tiles lift off easily with a paint can opener. Beautiful looking and extremely durable floor!!

I love the new exercise room floor. Installation wasn't too bad. Just a bit difficult around door frames. I suggest cutting it square around the frames and filling it in with small scrap pieces.

Installed on cement basement floor for home exercise room. Looks great! Color is perfect. The installation took my husband and I approx. 5 hrs, cutting around the walls and a closet was the trickiest. We are very happy with the final look.

Installed in home gym

We had placed an order for tiles for our new home gym. When they arrived they accidentally sent their newest version Gatorade. We loved that mistake!Unfortunately we didn't calculate enough & had to order 30 more tiles. They were awesome and sent out the tiles ( even waved some of shipping). When the tile arrived it was the original color and didn't match at all. Luisa was so awesome! She sent our new tile and let us keep the 30 tiles as it was their oops. This company not only makes a great tile - they have integrity, great business practices and do it all in a friendly manner.

Very easy to install and the delivery was as promised. The only drawback was that we have at least 12 tiles left over after the calculation of square footage.

I expanded my gym into a larger room in my basement and ordered more tiles. I didn’t order enough due to a measurement error but the quality of the tiles is great and installation was smooth. Going to order more to finish out the room.

A fantastic product. Once the tiles are put together, the seams disappear. Floor is soft to walk on, and impervious to dirt. My granite designer color looks like stone, or even a beautiful gray carpet. Delivery was quick, and the truckers took the extra effort to deliver on my somewhat remote gravel road, and then helped me to load the heavy pallet onto my Toyota truck, since my driveway was very long and steep. Driver even offered to open the pallet and help carry the tiles to the porch (which I didn't let him do) but that is how nice the shippers were. All and all an A+++ experience, with a fantastic product. Highly recommended, from beginning to end. Will order from this great company again.

Quality product and pretty easy to install. Heavy duty and product has some weight to it. So far it seems like it will hold up extremely well and makes the room feel like a real gym. Best of all, my very picky wife is happy, and that is saying something :-) !!

By far the best rubber gym floor I’ve installed. Once put together it literally looks seamless. I’ve installed other manufacturers rubber flooring before & haven’t been happy seeing through small seams to subfloor. It’s especially noticeable when installing a dark floor over light concrete. The flooring from Rubber Flooring Inc may be a little more money but I firmly believe you get what you pay for. I’m ordering for another room at my job site & look forward to installing it. Highly recommend this company.

Fantastic Product! The interlocking tabs of these puzzle tiles are cut so precisely that when they ″relax″ together, the joints virtually disappear. I found that by staggering each row by half a tile it elimated 4-way intersections and resulted in even tighter joints. With some careful measuring and a sharp utility knife you can get a really nice fit around door jambs. The designer color (Toffee nut) flows incredibly well with our color scheme and was worth every extra penny. Rubber Flooring Inc delivered at half the cost of what I was quoted locally, even with shipping costs. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent and EZ to Install Tiles
Self-installed in Basement Home Gym/Yoga Room
Joe and Denise L from Plymouth Massachusetts wrote...
Gorgeous looking tiles. The new flooring helped to completely transform our Basement Gym/Yoga Studio. The tiles were very EZ to install. You can’t see a single seam between the interlocking titles. Looks like a continuous floor. Completed installation in an 18 X 20 room in about 4 hours. The tiles that required cutting around the edges cut easily with a sharp utility knife and a straight edge.

  Very Pleased

Christine from Cornish, NH wrote...
These tiles are exactly as advertised. I read reviews from other customers, watched your videos and found as I expected the installation very easily done with a metal straight edge and a utility knife. The tiles fit together very well and as another customer found, curling a tile a bit or inserting one 'ear' then the other sometimes helped even more when the fit was tight. But I _want_ a tight fit to keep spills or dirt out. Even though it feels hard to the touch, the tiles do 'give' a bit making a noticeable difference when walking/standing on them. The traction they provide is another positive; no slipping or sliding of me or rugs. I am very pleased with the Mocha Latte coloring of my tiles. The minor odor did dissipate quickly and I am happy to be using recycled tires as flooring in my very 'green' new home. So pleased that I learned about your product before making a different and compromising choice. These tiles are tough and beautifully perfect flooring for my entire home. Thank you!

  Best basement floor ever!

The price seemed slightly more compared to other flooring types, but the product is great and worth it. I am a disabled veteran with a 6 inch metal plate and 7 screws holding my hand and wrist together, and this floor was so easy to install, even for me. A good measuring device, and a sharp razor blade in your utility knife is key to making quick work of what came to be.....an amazing looking basement room.

After our hot water heater blew and destroyed the carpet in our finished basement, we wanted to put something down that was easy to install and ok if it ever got wet. The floor arrived on a pallet, all 173 pieces! Putting it down was easy, the tiles have some weight so we paced ourselves and it took a couple of days to do all 600sq ft but the end results are great!

Practically seemless and precision cut. Must be trimmed near the baseboards but with a angled aluminum ruler it worked great. I am very happy with the self install job that I did. Very easy if you take your time. Order some extra, buy a nice blade holder and have plenty of new razor blades on hand.
